I’m gonna shear you.
If it makes you feel any better it does technically also imply that Elves are descended from Troggs.
Doesn’t matter.
Elves should be wiped out, and Teldrassil failed. >:(
I’ll go ask Telaryn.
To be honest, this doesn’t really prove anything. The Trolls could have simply chosen to occupy and settle in and around Dazar’alor at some point, long after they appeared on Azeroth. They could even have taken inspiration from figures like Taloc or other iconography for their own culture.
Chronicle 1, however, does state that the trolls evolved after the Titans had scoured Azeroth clean of the Old Gods and their servants, around sixteen thousand years before the First War.
That’s possible. I don’t have it with me right now. But then I hear some claiming that was retconned (which it could very wel have been, considering the precedent). However, I think my point still stands. The Trolls living where they do doesn’t really indicate whether or not they came to be before or after the Titan’s arrival.
A few headcanons on the trolls. Their regeneration was gained by the mogu blood magic as a reward, or to make them good soldiers. Also trolls use wood armor and weapons as it’s resistant to the sound magic/technology of the mantid.
As for the origin of the troll. One idea of mine is the ancients, that the old gods curse of fleshed walking trees that got smaller, same as vrykul and gronn. Ancients of war have the tusks, and they have three fingers and the bad back posture. And it’d explain the variations to a degree and their connection to the wild gods/dream.
My headcanon is that this is a mistake.
Luckily actual canon surpasses any headcanon.
i am also in full support of Atahalni’s headcanon about the trolls evolving from the sabertusks.
I’m thankfull the changed it back to pre-titan Trolls…
Same!
Blizzard parkouring from one retcon to the next super easily.
Is it a retcon if they retcon their retcon back to the pre-retcon?
Fel is corrupted arcane when?
Not like blizzard keeps track on how the magic works.
I Think Fel being its own thing is better.
Like… Warlocks using ‘‘Unstable chaos magic’’ feels better than ‘‘Corrupted Arcane magic’’.
Unpopular opinion, but the way they re-ordered the magics was a good thing. Previously we got into some weird mental gymnastics where Shadow = Death, but Life =/= Light where druids had that theme of Life/Death going on, but they also had nothing to do with Shadow which they should have if Shadow = Death, but then that also means Light = Life so why weren’t druids using the Holy Light? That means Life =/= Light and therefore Shadow can’t be Death and on and on the cycle of mental gymnastics goes.
Separating Shadow and Death magics was a good thing.
Give me my Necromancer.
