Is this a Troll? Also for people who want to learn the game, do not use stuff like this it will hinder you in long term. You need to learn class/rotation normaly to be able to play without looking at bars at all. Muscle memory/flow blows stuff like this out of water, as then you can pay attention to other stuff and not looking at bars/some rotation pop ups from that addon.
I get why your views are so bad now. You only play one class. Kinda makes all your gatekeeping about your WoW achievements even more sad.
Why are you talking this so personally? Everyone else views us as a complete joke and that is fine. Let them laugh at us. We are the Animal Crossing of competitive gaming? So what?
Tbh I use it sometimes when learning new spec to check if it suggests something else I did to make sure I understood the rotation correctly. I do not try to press every button as it suggests (sometimes it suggests wrong things btw). I don”t think anyone uses it like a “guitar hero”.
When it comes to complexity. I find some classes having extra complexity make the game have more depth. I.E. some harder classes like srouge or spriest. Trying to learn harder class makes it satisfying.
We also have classes with simpler rotation like guardian, fury. I love playing my guardian when I just want to zone out.
You made some good points about weakauras or DMBs. I do think the main issue here is not the complexity of the game but absolute failure of modern wow UI.
UI in some areas of gameplay is disjointed from the game mechanics. Attacks are not telegraphed well. Buffs and debuffs are displayed horribly. Playing a healer in a raid feels like spreadsheet excel accountant simulator.
Shows how little you know.
Is that the best “insult” you can come up with?
Who said I am? Your threads thus far have always been completely false and get ripped apart every single time due to either your lack of knowledge or flawed data. You should be used to that by now.
Do you mind going back and answering the question posted?
Maybe I should rephrase it.
Could you give me some examples of spec rotations / gameplay and which buttons you feel are unnecessary / how that spec should play in your ideal world?
As for your snide comments, the people I end up helping I usually don’t even introduce to the full rotation for the specs in question because they do not need it. They’re happy to learn the basics well and branch out into more nuanced ability usage later on, the game already is what you want it to be. You can trim a spec down to 4-5 buttons and if you learn how to use those buttons well you’ll still perform well enough to do anything except the absolute hardest content. You’ll even end up beating people who are trying to do something more complex that’s supposed to be better but are less proficient at it.
You can definitely make a case that player stigma pushes players to try to take a breadth based approach to learning a spec rather than a depth based one, with a lack of beginner friendly resources / attitudes within even lower difficulty group content. We shouldn’t be shunning people for running simpler builds that let them better grasp the basics, but to remove the ability to add complexity at all I cannot agree with.
Hekili can help you with understanding rotation, after that you disable it and never use it again, until you start to play other classes/specs.
Hekill is useless, from what i checked on videos it just teaches you basic rotation. Are we even playing same game? Dps rotation is not realy complicated most classes are like 4-5 buttons max with some extra buttons you press every few minutes. How is that hard exactly? You are not playing Fighting game where you have to pull 14 button Combo each time or something. Also maybe newer players should not Go for specs/classes that require better understanding of the game? Atleast Not right off the bat. It is litteraly same in any game, you have begginer friendly specs/classes/weapons/characters etc, etc. Wow has plenty of thoose. Also the addon does litteraly nothing but shows you rotation in the combat situation. It is not a Script, Might help some people, might not. But it is not gonna do your dps for you that is for sure.
Dunno dude, D4 ratings are pretty horendous, but not unexpected though. D4 seems “popular”, because they spent 2/3 of the money on marketing and stupid sheeps ignored all the red flags and bought it.
However I agree with you. This is just way too far. Generally I would be happier if wow addons were reduced, but fights simplified. The game already feels like watching spreadsheets anyway.
Hekili is absolute dogwater, no rotation is static, every rotation is dymanic and changes based on whats happening in a fight whether it’s mechanics or target change/swap.
If you think hikili will make you perform better than someone who knows their class without hikili then you are extremely wrong and should educate yourself on how rotations work.
The game is pretty fun though. The only problem I have with it is that it’s not worth playing atm because renown is gonna reset when the season starts and I’m going to play the season.
My problem with it is that its basically alpha version of a game that cost ppl 70-100€ (+further costs once they drop the dck in the salad with season), while it has no content, no QoL and is marketed as arpg, while it lacks all the core arpg features, so arpg players cant enjoy it and its also marketed as mmo, which D4 is not as well, so mmo enjoyers cant enjoy it either. Its like perfectly made to attract the broadest audience, but it has nothing to offer once you get into it and cant refund it anymore. I understand some ppl are ok with blizzard quality games, but Im one of those, who like games to be creative and at least moderately challenging. This is not one of them.
It helps to have a second opinion about what to throw at the enemy next. Though usually I make my own decisions when it comes to initiating AoE.
It is deceptive to talk about 4-5 buttons max while not considering that these buttons are not to be used in a fixed order but are to be weaved based on the situation.
???
It’s diablo. What did you expect? Not diablo? This is miles better than the diablo 3 rift spam.
Still it cannot compete with muscle memory/Flow. You can not realy think on what to use next, addon wont teach you that. Good keybinds+ Practice and you blow anyone with addon out of water. Back when i was New i Practiced on Target Dummy Untill i was no longer looking on what abbility to use next.
One does not exclude the other though. Less we forget endgame is not just striking a target dummy.
I also want to see the guy who has muscle memory for every spec in the game
Many can do that. If you get it on one class you can do next with same keybinds. And you will pick it extremely fast. Also Endgame likemythic raiding for example is where if you you were to keep looking at your bars and on addon on what to use next you would fail. Its not about Dmg but mechanics, Only Rashok Was Dps check, but still that fight for example require you to have awareness of everything that is happenning around you- Dodging waves, movement, Deff cds etc.
I expected it to be a greedy, rushed, bland, shallow rip off of successful mechanics stolen from other games, that mixes all the monetisation options known to human kind. Tell me, if I was right or not, because after playing beta and seeing end game videos that looked literally the same, I decided not to be an idiot and avoid buying it.
So you don’t like the game, doesn’t mean it’s bad, lol.
I am honestly not intimidated by mechanics.
Only by peoples expectations (both the actual expectations and those formed in my head about what I think others expect)
If I was not glancing at Hekili, I would still be glancing at a more bulky weak aura that beings the cooldowns and the resources to a more visible place.
As a a healer I even went out of my way to make my own text to speech mp3 files to help me remind myself that my short cooldowns are ready to use.
I am not a big fan of even the small stuff being limited by cooldowns instead of resources.
Anyway, I picked up Hekili back when Blizzard had the sadistic inspiration to create the mage tower and give people the choice to learn every spec of every class by the end of Legion or miss out on transmogs
My point is that rotations should not change based on buffs and CD’s. Procs are fun though and easy to react to and could stay.
But whatever. I don’t feel strongly either way. As i said, i will adapt, but if i had the choice, that is what i would go with.
