That’s incorrect, pallies can tank fine in 5 mans, and overaggroing dps who go all out rightaway are an issue for every tank. It’s just the way threat works in Classic as others have already pointed out, some dps seem not very aware of it.
nothing wrong with disco in 5 mans and that warrior has nothing to be pissed about since he was NOT supposed to have aggro and therefore not supposed to get any rage for taking damage
My Druid cant hold Aggro with people like this in the Group either.
If you dont allow the tank time to build up some aggro, noone can tank. Even the most hardcore Prot Warrior cant do sh*t when the moment he pulls 2 AoE spells start raining and the Two hand Warrior rushes in and pulls his full DPS rotation…
I’m a shaman. If I run a dungeon with a warrior while using rockbiter on my weapon and keeping eartshock on cooldown somehow the warrior can’t hold aggro either. Does that make the Warrior a non-viable tank, or is it maybe my fault?
How about you keep reading past the first sentence?
Even a Prot warrior cant do SH*T if you dont allow him to build up Aggro.
But again that proves my point, when we listen to the Meta people, we will only play 2 classes, Warrior and Priest, because they are the best Tank/DPS (Warrior) and best healers). Why would we need anything else, everything other than Warrior and priest, maybe Mage for range is a a non viable class…
Right, so, a major flaw in your logic of “High DPS Classes cause of dungeon drama” stems from the fact that you and your friend are playing tank and healer. It seems to me that this voids the “opportunity” for you guys to see tanks/healers that play in a manner you dislike. There are plenty of moronic tanks and healers (as this is a human characteristic rather than a virtual toon class one).
As to the warrior bit, true. You’re playing with one of the two classes infamous for the cleaving meta. It’s highly likely when you take a warrior or a mage that they are already formatted to the “MOAR AOE” mentality and are unable to comprehend any other playstyle. With those two classes you’re more likely to be hoping to catch a good egg in a rotten bunch than otherwise.
This is a really good point that I missed somehow. Any healer who plays in PuGs is going to have horror stories about the tanks who never stop pulling, for example.
you need 1 lock to summon people to raid and buff supperior dps aka mages , 1 hunter for tranq shot and 1-2 druids in case tank needs cr , 2-3 paladin healers
besides this - indeed you dont need any other suboptimal class for anything
I’m a 2h warrior, usually tanking - but I tend to go 1h/shield depending on my level and that of the dungeon.
Perhaps it’s just the community that you’re currently involved with. A lot of people are already making alts, and as that says some of them (not all) will be the elitist group of wanna be heroes who believe their way is the best way because they cleared MC…
Just do you mate, swim above the detritus. Besides, if it’s your party - just replace them. SM is a hotspot for warriors.
Fyi, I play exclusively with a Pally tank at the moment, and since he’s geared up and gained levels to be even with me and and the other party members, there’s not a hope in hell of any of us over-aggroing. I don’t even give him time before going ham on targets anymore.
Anyone who underestimates a Pally’s ability to tank multiple mobs is simply doing themselves a disservice.
This should be mandatory as a Paladin Tank to Buff your group DPS, it has nothing related to whether you can or can’t Taunt .
Not doing Salvation in Group puts your fault in the consequences, not the Warrior himself who sound like immature.
Next is , don’t blame on Warriors , there were only 2 solutions for that that you could do em :
1- Your Paladin Tank should been faster on the Pulls.
2- Kick the Warrior who do asspulls and replace him .
Can’t find any other proper explanation regarding your situation.
Even in my Groups there are Warriors Arms who do the same, but it was never an issue for me so far , and if it were causing , i would deal with it very quickly and easy.
