Homophobia in rp needs to cease

X/Y and Y/X are still both male. XX chromosomes make you female.

not now, terf

i’m using X’s and Y’s in the sense of unknown/nameless factors to shorten my sentence rather than biological makeup.

was this a joke because im completely :expressionless: rn

Oh no no no no no…

The terfs are coming out

the point is if you want it to be equal then RPing as trans isnt something exclusively given to people who are trans. If you dispute anyone rping as trans you dispute people RPing as opposite sexes

I think there is a distinction between someone playing the opposite gender to themselves, and someone playing a trans character. Both can be, and are, done very tastelessly, but one is a much more sensitive topic than the other.

Well, this is where I will be off, thank you folk for being awsome, and thank you Dawnlight for coming back to worship us and make it clear we will always have a spot in your heads.

yeah i got your point i just explained that it’s a bad point.

I am cautiously okay with it being a possible thing alluded to in a character’s backstory in a similar vein to how Blizzard alludes to it in their writing with the likes of Maraad’s sister, Alexstrasza and Taretha Foxton off the top of my head.

But again, if you go down that route, I really hope you know what you’re doing because it’s a topic many are uncomfortable with and many have also experienced. Overcoming it can add a lot of nuance to a character, but please do not cheapen it. And do not actually RP it out.

Every man or woman doesnt have the first clue what its like to be the opposite sex because they arent the opposite sex

Homophobia in some countries is ok, like Russia or like all muslim countries. Everyone can have their own opinions on anything. LGBT is biologic exception which are across the world and across the species (theconversation .com/stop-calling-it-a-choice-biological-factors-drive-homosexuality-122764).

This people do not have choice if they like girls or guys. But nobody can force another human to like them, agree with them, be like them, support them etc… This is how slavery works and racism works, order how to feel and what to do . . . .

So why should be other people be punished for their free mind and opinions? If you want you can declare yourself as airplane but you can´t force me to accept this (this example is for transgender people which want to deny biological fact about with what they born). . . Some people will accept them with new gender, some people will say, he was a guy he will be guy forever. Both are right. Why heterosexual people are forced to accept their mindset, this is just dumb. . .

This how i see this, whole problem is that minority force majority to accept minority thoughts. Both sides can live side by side together and if nobody will force them or us to do or accept something. Everything will be ok.

I said not now

put the one joke down and step away from the thread

I will say, with things like depictions of disabilities and perhaps by extension transgender people also, there can be something of a mistake that can be made.

While Warcraft is a world of magic, where things exist beyond our reality, and solutions exist that don’t necessarily exist within the real world are available to the inhabitants of this universe. Magic can mend you, it can bring you back from the dead, it can teleport you all over the place, and so you can start thinking “Well, it could cure disabilities or give somebody the body they want” too, right?

Well, yes. But.

In real life, people don’t get to magic wand away their problems. People with disabilities have to live with those disabilities for the rest of their lives. People with gender dysphoria have to put in so much effort between the HRT, clothing changes, makeup, and surgery that they might undergo. There is no magical solution to it, where they get to be free of all the stress and strain. Because of that, I imagine for some it could be quite upsetting to see their IRL issues downplayed.

Again, call me out if I’m wrong on this, I openly admit that I’m not as educated on these matters, but it’s still something to consider all the same.

Also I know I listed transgender people and disabilities in the same sentence - being transgender is not a disability, and I formatted the sentence poorly in a way that might suggest I do. It’s simply how both things can’t be waved away IRL.
