Yhireim, buddy, I will explain what the thread is about for the likes of you one more time I guess.

  1. This thread is to stop homophobia from happening in AD, both IC and OOC, it being not a thing in lore and a breach of ToS.

  2. This isn’t a discussion thread, so your “arguments” will just fall flat here, because they have been debunked several times over, no point in repeating.

  3. People like you who champion breach of ToS with the escuse “It’s IC bro, relax.” should really rethink their stance on the subject, there are no neutral ground in this topic, you either are pro or con.

Hope this enlighten you pal. (yes, this is a throw away account)

My main concern is why he insists on writing “weither” instead of “whether” in every single reply he’s made. Is it code?

I don’t know, and I don’t really care at this point. This endless song and dance is getting tireing thou, I wonder who will be next.

“code.” Adorable. Also, it sounds better in my head. Autocorrect features don’t really account for the word either. Always comes up as Weather.

…Might use that now though, just for fun.

my condolences for your loss

No worries, I will be back sooner than you expect.

I don’t know man, code can be many things but it has never struck me as adorable.

Back on topic though, there are so many bad things that canonically exist in the Warcraft universe you can lean your character towards IC so why do you feel compelled to champion the cause of something that doesn’t exist and borders on being a bannable offense?

Because some folk can’t help but bring irl into IC I guess.

I’m not though. You’re missing the part where I’ve said that I am against discrimination as a whole.

If it’s IC, my character will react IC. If you’re talking to me directly about it, I’ll tell you straight up what I think. If you go too far for me, I’ll be vocal about it. It doesn’t need to be more complicated than this.

This, is a stupid thing to do in general. Let the characters be themselves. Else, why bother?

No one lets their character be anything. They choose their traits and choose to act them out – which is broadly the issue we have with homophobia being portrayed in roleplay; it’s the choice of the player to bring that “theme” into the game, not something that can be found there already.

Indeed, why even bring homophobia, something from irl into rp hey? Those that do this are just plain dumb.

While I’m all for IC =/= OOC and whatever can go into a story etc, just imagine if you’re struggling IRL with your identity or sexuality and you’re touchy or something on it… And then someone comes along IC and says nasty homophobic things / calls you a slur. Gonna hurt and get your brain ticking badly.

I usually assume forums are often used for discussion and debate, but apparently according to you, that isn’t the case.

I didn’t come here initially, to ‘champion’ scummy actions of some, nor force my thoughts on anyone else. I simply spoke my mind, as I thought it was a topic worth adding to.

Apparently though, what I say doesn’t matter to you. Suit yourself, I guess.

That’s perfectly fair, and if it ever gets to that point, I would encourage you to speak up or break off from that session of RP.

This thread wasn’t for that, sorry to burst your bubble.

You came where to repeat a song that has been sung by many before you, so you added nothing of value.

No it does not, again, many before you came singing the same song, you must tire from the loop sometime.

The thread’s purpose has been to discuss the problem of homophobia in roleplay and how an online community as broad as AD should respond to it – not to discuss how and why it might be okay.

If you’re against discrimination as a whole I don’t think you can say “But I roleplay it”.
