I could accept it being in a modified state, as in primal magical sense, such forces are hostile to each other.
I 100% agree that it is in fact a dangerously boring concept but u know i love to argue.
Void elf holy priests are a weird concept imo. It just feels wrong, but since that âLFD can step through void rifts and Alleria+Turalyon can touchâ retcon I cannot really call it lore-breaking anymore. It seems theoretically possible sadly.
I disagree, but thatâs a topic for another thread I suppose.
Well, Alerian isnt Exactly a void elf per say, she has a void form but isnt infused with the void like void elves are.
Edit: Can we make Another thread for this thou? We are derialing.
Would you say they use some types of magical wards or nullification fields when they interact with each other. As we know Azeroth has nullification magic, Blood elves has it as a racial even. Perhaps when they got intimate, they pull a ward up or so.
Bit of a tricky subject, although I donât condone homophobic comments or actions nor do I wish them upon anyone.
It does happen, you canât really block it out. Unless you physically blocked anyone that ever had a chance to try it.
And we all know what the wow trolls are like.
Iâd like to live in a perfect world where such things are not an issue, but IMO learning to overcome such comments or ignore them is better. Something along the same lines that Idubbbz said about racism a little while ago.
The more we hold these homophobic comments in such high esteem or on a pedestal, the stronger their impact.
For example:
Iâm a slim boi myself, a while ago people used to always make fun of me IRL for how I was, calling me skeleton e.c.t. It always used to upset me, until I learned to not give a f**k what people thought. Now, I shrug such comments off, as being stupid. I believe learning to do this made me better as a person.
I get people react differently and itâs not always that easy, but theyâre my two cents.
It doesnât happen in the warcraft setting thou, so rping it should be out of the question, and those that stobburnly cling to it should be indeed blocked out, we donât need them.
Ah, but thatâs just the thing. Real people are behind the characters.
Real people that may hold one opinion over the other and translate it to the characters they play regardless of if it exists in a fantasy world or not.
I get the sentiment but, itâs not just that black and white IMO.
Iâm okay with blocking homophobes
After i report them of course
Thereâs your solution mate, block them out. Nobody is taking you in a chokehold and forcing you to interact with them. The most efficient way is just to ignore the people you donât like.
If you think going after people in some righteous crusade will change them for the better, youâre mistaken, youâll cause more resentment for your cause.
I understand the sentiment here, but me expressing my disdain for homophobic remarks in character does not influence how other members of the LGBTQ+ community would take them. The weight of them is assigned on an individual basis, and my arguement is that no matter how heavy that weight is, itâs a weight for a majority of LGBTQ+ players. Why put that weight on them?
And Iâm advocating that those real people use a bit of empathy and donât lessen the experience of a marginalized people when there are other ways to show prejudice within the Warcraft setting that donât throw the LGBTQ+ community under the bus.
Doesnât really justify bringing irl concepts into a roleplaying, those that do, do so in bad faith and should be ignored, you are rping a char in a completly different world from your own, youre not rping yourself.
Oh for sure, empathy would go a long way and I too would hope people moderate what they say. But I know as well as you do, that some people just wont.
Homophobes resentful? Thatâs new.
Its basically the different between being a wokescold or a dirtbag leftist
The former should be annihilated or changed into the latter
Indeed, although what I advocated for in the previous thread I think stands here. Which is that guilds should be doing all they can to address homophobic characters, and if those players arenât adhering to that, then to genuinely consider /gkicking those people. If several members of a guild or the GM/officers of the guild are going around doing that, then encourage people not to invite them to campaigns and consider ignoring them as much as possible in public events.
We canât forcefully change peopleâs minds. But we can certainly give incentives.
Iâm saying it wonât mend any conflicts with anyone. I assume that this is your goal in the end, to have a better outlook for your cause. Iâm saying that an active crusade even against the people you donât like isnât going to help you make them see your point of view. Afterall isnât this this the entire point of this thread?
Oh yeah, of course.
Any guild that Iâve had the responsibility of running in the past, had a zero tolerance attitude towards it or bullying in general.
A similar point was made in the previous thread, and I shall paraphrase my response there.
If being told not to force homophobia in a setting where it doesnât belong turns people into phobos, they were already such from the get-go, just got honest about it.
