ok, cool. But using the “I have a gay character so I’m not homophobic” is just as bad excuse for pushing homophobia being ok as when you said you were gay irl.
I was making a point that if you asked, perhaps you would know more to convince them to stop hating on you.
I will not accept false accusations and that is final. I don’t care how much somebody else misreads what I say and interprets it as homophobic because I am saying it is not true.
You are missing the point I have made countless times or choosing to ignore it.
The ToS applies to IC interactions and forbids racism. By that logic, all racist characters should be banned.
And any elf that thinks they are better than other races is a racist character.
General insults then. Being rude and attacking somebody is also against the terms of service and such instances fit in both context.
If one of my characters goes off on a rant about how your character is stupid… blah blah blah… that is against ToS.

People cannot argue back if the ToS isn’t specific. It’s done to give Blizzard the ability to say “Here is the vague rule you have broken, and we have decided it was enough to issue you punishment”. You can rail against it all you want.

No. You’re just ignoring the lore which is bad RP and also breaking the ToS.
The ToS is very much allowed to decide that. Also, nobody has phisically come and stopped you from making a bad decision. You’re not a victim here.
You’re not in a vaccum. You’re surrounded by people that deserve respect and that comes with extra rules and common sense. You’re not some special creator, you’re part of a community. Go write your own world and then sure, you’ll have 100% creative freedom.

Yes it is. If you insult my character IC and I choose to report it you may wind up getting in trouble depending on the GM’s discretion.
I’m purely arguing about what the ToS says here, not whether it is right or wrong or whatever. My personal stance is that judging right or wrong based on “muh ToS” is pretty dumb.
Again the ToS isn’t a two way street. It only limits us, not Blizz or their GMs.
Better this than binge drinking tbh.

I play gay characters, I am actually gay IRL, I have a partner and I really dislike homophobia.
…so, why accuse me of it?

We seem to be in complete agreement then. I feel the ToS needs a section specifiying roleplay and how far people should take it. End this whole debate.
Plus, this ToS is a horrible ruleset for a roleplaying environment.

It’s amazing that people in this thread are actively outing themselves as people for any reasonable RPer to avoid. I as a gay man (
) now know who on the server that would actively defend their right to make me and others uncomfortable for the sake of their Ben Shapiro free speech. Entire guilds exposing themselves, even.
