Long story short, on the old forums you could block. Now you can’t anymore, you can however mute.
it’s been this way for a while as you can see from the above post from 2018
They changed it recently, I believe. You can ignore someone now. Making all their posts “hidden”, can still view it after clicking.

Isn’t that after someone received a lot of flags? or is it in both cases? Flag and you can block/hide?
If you go to their profile you should see a box that says “normal” click that and a menu appears with options to mute and ignore.
It’s a new feature that was added a few days ago so people may not be aware of it yet.
It also has time limits so you can ignore for a day, week, fortnight, month, 2 month period and you still see a “view hidden post” of the ignored persons postings.

No (well that too), check the preference pane where you muted people before or check someone’s activity (“normal” can be changed to “muted” or “ignored”).
