Please sell me the idea and justify the reason why there’s a need for an ingame store for a game we already pay to play.
From the simple view, if you buy something ingame, like a mount or a transmog, you are practically paying double the price for something you would’ve naturally gotten anyway.
Because most people don’t care how others spend their money and if people want to throw money at storemounts that don’t effect gameplay directly, then why does it matter?
You could also reason that those people should care about how others spend their money. Because if the store mount wasn’t added to the store, the people that wouldn’t have bought it with real life money, could be able to get it ingame for free with some grinding.
Yes, we have that now with the wow token, but it’s absolutely ridiculous to grind for that stuff this way.
Okay, all you do is look for a fight, but it is actually my business since I’m paying to play this damn game and Blizzard is trying to charge me double the price for a product I’m already paying for.
It absolutely is my business.
Well simple. Because we already pay to play said product and they’re basically selling us content twice. (3 times if you already count expansion costs).
I think you need to settle down. I’m not the one raging in all caps rofl.
They actually are. I was a mount collector. That idea has long sailed though. And yes I am paying double the price. Most of the store mounts are used by NPCs ingame.
You are justifying Blizzard selling a product twice .
Huh? Quite a weak argument, because I never said it should be just given to us.
How would they have ‘naturally’ gotten it? There are rated PVP mounts in game which 99.999999999999999999999% of the community will never be able to obtain. There’s so many mounts ‘naturally’ in game, but like rated pvp mounts they have lots of hurdles in front obtaining them.
These are additional mounts in the in-game store that anyone can get for a small price. In-game purchases are entirely normal, even for console games.
No they’re not. Especially if you are already paying a subscription fee to play the damn game.
It’s “normal” because people like you let corporates drain out your wallets like that.
It’s a business model that works and hundreds of millions of games do it. PS3 to PS5 games do it. Original xbox games to latest xbox games do it. Hundreds of trillions of mobile app games do it. PC games do it in their hundreds of millions. It’s not new and Blizzard aren’t doing it excessively.
Look at any free to play mobile game, you either have to pay to speed progress up or you can’t progress at all without buying boosts. In-app purchases have been normal for almost two decades now.
Because you automatically take things out of context and describe them in the biggest strawman? Yeah, that’s weak.
I already saw it pretty simple.
Oh boy.
Iron Skyreaver is used by a boss in WoD in a dungeon.
The grinning reaver are used by the Laughing Skull clan. If you pick up a flight at their base you even ride it.
Same for the Draenei in Shadowmoon area with the Fey Dragon.
Not to mention that the Dragon we got from Cataclysm was supposedly to drop from the Dragon Soul raid, because it represented Thrall’s weapon he used to take down Deathwing. Aswell as the Horse from WotLK supposedly being dropped from Algalon.
Those are just a start and I can go on further if you want. But I gave 3 examples instead of one already.
You sure you’re not just picking for a fight here buddy?
That’s true, WoW is looking more and more to resemble a mobile game.
As proven, players are valiantly defending their right to pay more money onto the game. I guess there’s no talking to people after all.
