It was very justifiable back in wrath, cata and every expansion when Blizzard actually had support for their games.
Especially in Wrath, the GMs were absolute champs. Everyone loved them, tickets took a couple minutes to get a response and overall support for the game was amazing to the point where the majority of people were fine with shop mounts because it felt like the players benefit from it.
Now, it’s just a cash grab. That’s the difference. The issue is not just shop mounts, it’s what they’re meant to be for.
Pretty much this. It’s a matter of scale, the number of mounts etc on the store is pretty small in comparision to those in game. Must be a ratio of 1 : 100 of store mount : ingame mounts.
I don’t have any Store mounts, pets or transmogs (other than those given out free for charity drives or 6 month sub).
If these store items add some income to the company at little or no harm to the game then that’s fine.
Should the ratio of store item to ingame items becomes unreasonable then I will add my voice to the protests until then meh…
They are promoted as store mounts. You don’t have to buy them.
Like someone said above, we pay a subscription to be able to access Blizzard’s game server. That’s all the subscription is.
My car is on finance. If the company I have the finance with also provide personalised steering wheels at an extra cost, do I then protest the car company is greedy? No. It’s an optional service, and not something that should automatically come with the car just because I pay monthly to drive it.
Blizzard is a company. It needs to make a profit. There will always be people who protest “but they’re just being greedy.” Sorry to burst your bubble, but any thriving company will ALWAYS seek ways to make more money.

There is also the grind the gold in game, convert and buy it as if it was any other vendor option.
We’ve also seen the addition of freebies thrown in with the six month recurring subscriptions, which are later made available in the store for people to buy through other means.
Just to nitpick a bit, the HotA is actually shown in its entirety (not just the head) blasting Deathwing at the end. There’s nothing to indicate it would somehow drop though. And indeed, it seems unlikely it was even meant to be a mount, since it’s the buggiest store mount there is; it never uses the gliding flying animation when actually flying, but instead uses it when “running” on the ground, which gives it a very incomplete and half-baked job kinda vibe. And as you pointed out, Ultraxion doesn’t drop either.
Oh, I do understand that. I simply don’t mind. It’s my money to spend after all.
And what did you not understand when others pointed out that you don’t even need to actually spend more money, but can simply grind gold, buy a token for B-net currency and then buy the store mount with gold, so to say?

While I personally haven’t bought any store mounts myself. Not really a mount guy.

Nope, you can move all your characters for free to either TBCC or Classic forever but if you want to copy any of the characters to both forever Classic or TBCC realms you have to pay. The amount it costs hasn’t been released yet.
Some ELSE is paying double the price to be more precise. At least in my case.
On another note: I couldnt give a flying rats about the shop mounts because the only one that interested me next to the heart of aspects was the draenor bug that got removed.
What gets me he makes the OP and says open to debate then when you do not share the same view or say you can buy the items for gold you get insulted by the OP ,he only wants people to post that agree with his stance nothing more .

Because the vast minority even visits the forum to begin with. This has been the case since ever. Couple that this forum is only for the ones intending to speak english while we have forums for germans, frenchies, italians, the spanish and russians. That alone causes the numbers to dwindle by alot. Ontop of it that the EU forum has always been second rate compared to the US forum (which is quite active btw) and that adds to it that people dont generally wish to post on the EU forums (also our moderation team is doing a very poor job)
They are prevelant because of all the gold that is flowing around. Gold inflation has been an issue since a decade or so and its only getting worse even with the gold sinks put in place. Ofc boosting etc could make you more susceptible to buy a token but given the boosting prices if you wish to pay 200€ or whatever for a worthwhile boost then by all means, waste your money. Even without the tokens boosting would be pretty much as attractive as it is because of the already existing gold floating around. If its just solely to keep your sub running with boosting then the amount of boosts you would have to do would be abysmally low.
