I would like to create a character on a currently locked server to play with all my real life friends who are already on the server, this lockdown of certain servers is making this not possible…
How long will these servers be locked?

No one knows, not even Blizzard I think.
Why weren’t you already on their realm?
What sort of dumb, redundant question is that?
Apparently no new players are allowed to play this game.
It’s a fair question - the rude response isn’t that helpful
Of course new players are allowed, just not allowed to fill up already full realms.
It sounds like the OP was already playing on another realm away from his friends, after all Classic has been around for a while now.
If they are real friends, you know, they will come to your realm to play with you. Unless they are “friends.”
Hopefully forever because the servers are more than full and we don’t want layering in place just because new players can’t manage to start on one of the 35 non-full realms.
They are not allowed to play on a full server. Full means full. They can chose one of the other 35 realms.
they just troll every thread. dont feed it.
@Trawztwo: We do not know, probably Blizzard does not know either. It depends on player behaviour.
I love the fact that people are suddenly “joining” these full realms now.
@Kemurai: Judging by some posts, I think many of the “extras” are actually people, who have been on break, now have extra time due to the virus outbreak and find that their “home” has been overcrowded while they were absent and feel “stuck”, because their main and possibly only character is on a realm that is now locked.
I don’t unterstand this. As long as they already have a character on one of the said realms they should be able to create as many characters as they want as far as I know.
Yup you can, did it this morning. I have a level 1 on a locked server, which I have never logged in to, and this morning I made a second character without any issues - then deleted it!
Slow leveling coupled with unrestricted transfers and character creation across many realms meant potential tranfer $ down the line. Now they are in panic mode how to restrict players from getting on the same few realms. And we can still go and start to play on any of the restricted ones if we want. Turning transfer incentive to 11 ended up with players raging because layers/queues and no more transfer $ for Blizzard.
I’m having the same issue, only decided to start playing wow classic now and all of my friends / family are on a locked server. Classic hasn’t been out long enough to not expect new players trying to enter the game…
The reason we have this full servers problem is because a guy wanted to play on a server where his friend wanted to play because his friend wanted to play there because his friend wanted to play there because his friend wanted to play there because his friend wanted to play there because his friend wanted to play there because his friend wanted to play there because his friend wanted to play there because his friend wanted to play there because his friend wanted to play there because his friend wanted to play there because his friend wanted to play there because his friend who was dump enough not to know better wanted to play there.
Just for testing purposes I went and check if I was able to create character on locked realms, and I were able to. And I have no previous characters in said realms and never had
@Kalibarr: Interesting, because I just tried several (in three different support languages) and all tests failed.
Thats why you have the Halloween mask its because you just decided to start playing,
If your friends want to play with you - they could transfer off the realm as there are free migrations available. And you can all play together on the same server.
The server they’re on is full, makes sense to not have new people. Need to reduce the population.
