I wanna play with my friends. I already have a character on a full server, they are new to classic. Won’t let me transfer out…
Caught out with your mask lol. Lie much?
One of my friends decided to start playing the game now, I had no idea the servers were locked but they bought an account and can’t get on my server now, and now they’re not playing the game because they basically can’t play the game they want to, with friends.
I get that the servers are full but when people get a subscription they expect to play on the server they choose, it would be nice if Blizzard had a way of notifying those players what servers they can’t play on, not everyone is familiar with wtf is going on in the game.
You are only looking at it from an english point of view where only PvP Realms got locked. Frankophon people have only two servers available for new people which are PvP Servers that are nearly before lockdown too. There are no Low or Medium Population Servers where they can switch too.
Here they made a thread where even show it more cleary in what dire need they are:
i got same issue. Refreshed my wow sub to play with my friends in classic but i am unable to create a character on their server or transfer any of my other chars there either. I hope that joke ends soon it is the first time an mmorpg preventing me to join the people i enjoy to play with.
Alternativ idea, let your friends transfer to your server to balance out population. On the locked servers there are to many people anyway.
Dumb* if you are going to insult someone with the word, at least spell it correctly
It kind of does notify them by saying full
Didn’t know about this. Blizzard should open a new server there of course.
A friend has the same problem, he has already paid the subscription and a character cannot be created because Golemagg is blocked
they can’t my realm is locked also. think i will just unsub until that stressful situation ends. Not fun to play without my friends anyway. Hope they find a solution until the next phase
Then transfer together to a realm with lower population? How about that? I mean with friends there is no need for an overpopulated realm because then you have already people you can play together.
Sadly this is not an option. We can barely afford our monthly subscription at this point. Specialy after the corona lockdown that forced 3 of us to stop working and therefore reduced significantly our incomes. It could happen only if we had a free transfer option but still this path would require all 5 of us to pay 25euro each in order to be able to play an MMORPG with each other.
Can’t really imagine any mmorpg on the market atm demanding 125 euro to let a group of 5 friends enjoy the game together. Specialy an emulator of a 15 year old mmorpg with a monthly subscription! (which i would be happy to pay if i was allowed to play with my friends)
I realise that no company has 100% perfect products and services but after 17 years of playing mmo’s it is the first time i see a company making it so dificult to play with your friends. And of course it is the first time ever blizzard causing such dificulties. They handled it really good all that years but now in my humble opinion they messed up.
I believe I am not saying anything unreasonable. All i am saying is that i will be -once again- a happy customer when the company finds a way to bypass this dificulty / problem with a real and fair solution. Because playing in seperated realms with your friends due to a restriction that came into the game in the middle of Classic’s lifecycle (phase 4) is not a real neither a fair solution (or at least it is something we never ever saw in a monthly sub mmo).
After all it is just another game and every company has the “right” to do some mistakes or false decisions here and there. All me and my friends have to do is to give it 1-2 weeks to see how the company will handle this matter. We are all positive after seeing lots of people having the same issue with us and encouraging blizzard to change this decision in the forums, in-game tickets and social media. If that handling on the issue remains as it is we will just have to invest our time and money to some other project until we come back for shadowlands or tbc and make a better choise of a server all together to enjoy one of our favorite games.
I always get annoyed by people use the argument to transfer to a low or medium populated server. The entire reason to play on a highly populated server is obviously because the economy in those servers is great and getting into groups is easier, there’s a massive amount of perks that come with playing on a highly populated server.
You don’t JUST transfer or make people transfer, in classic WoW seeing the same people everyday on a server is fun and makes you feel involved in the community that’s the truth of it.
If those perks for you are worth playing on an overcrowded server, then stay on your overcrowded server: but don’t complain about queues. You can’t have it both ways.
@Horrorpunk: Since you have several friends, while not at all ideal, why not reroll on a much less crowded realm all together? And perhaps, once things improve economically, transfer the previous mains in as well?
I answered in detail exactly on that point on my wall of text right above mate. We would happily do that if we were not in the middle of the games lifecycle and also explained the reasons why we can not do it all together. It could easily happen if we knew earlier in phase 1 or 2. But now the effort put in our characters is litteraly huge and we can only help one or two rerollers catch up with our guild and friends backing them up.
I feel why you trying to find an argument to support Blizzard’s decisions and at the same time help our situation but as i explained above this time things are really messed up. All we can hope is Blizzard listen the massive feedback of people that want to play with their friends in their favorite game.
I part of agree. If the servers are really to tight that you need to lock people out, let at least people move free to some not so tight populated servers elsewhere.
I was on Faerlina server since September with couple Alliance characters. Few days ago I deleted them cause I wanted to try a Horde character. Not only I couldn’t create a new character but it doesn’t let me undelete an already existing one. What am I suppose to do now???
So go make another character on another realm with him and play with him when he’s online?
This solution is the best one Blizzard can implement because no one wants to go to an low/medium server and everyone is flocking to the same high populated servers if some people would stop being stubborn and play on another realm this problem wouldnt exist.
Ultimately its Blizzards fault with the way they rolled out a tiny amount of realms on release but its down to the players to help alliviate the problem they have caused.
