🔒 How To Block Someone: Step-By-Step

For those who don’t know how to block someone, here are the different ways to do it. Note: Ignoring someone only blocks the specific alt they are posting on

The first thing you do is click on their name and press "View Activity"

Then when you are in their profile, you will see 2 buttons on the top right called Normal" and View Profile", Here you press "Normal".

A drop down menu will appear, here you will select "Ignored"

A new window will appear, here you type Forever in the search bar and select it.

And that’s it, you blocked that person, or at least the alt they are posting on.

But for when a user has their profile hidden, you will need to do it another way, as follows:

Click on your profile picture:

Click on the little person icon and then select preferences:

Under preferences you will select Users:

Press +ADD:

First type in the Users name, along with their realm and then repeat the forever setting on the duration panel:

That’s it, you have now learned how to ignore a person.

i had to learn how to block someone to make this thread xD but no, no one on my block list yet xD

I’ll have to make a blocking alt, maybe “Blockuna”?

I’m too curious to ignore people, even on discord I always check what was said anyway and then think whatever I’ll just not ignore anyone.

Do wonder who the most ignored/blocked poster on this board is… :thinking:

I do have one person on ignore in game, but only the one and it’s justified, other than that, no, I rarely block anyone anywhere… except that one aunt on Facebook who keeps posting fake covid news/stats… but that’s just a temporary 30 day mute… for now…

Same :joy: i sometimes put very obvious trolls on ignore (was a topic while back where two ppl kept spamming the same replies to eachother for days, those went on ignore), but i usually remove it again when they go on their forced vacation :stuck_out_tongue:

The whole process of ignoring someone being this convoluted, especially for those who keep their profiles hidden, is a bit of an issue. It shouldn’t require that much effort to put someone on ignore if you reach the point of not wanting to see their posts.

The second issue is that you aren’t ignoring all their chars on that account this way.

This! And u still see if ppl quote them. Make it accountwide and also remove any options to see what they have written, i dont wanna see their quotes.

At some point there wasnt even a ignore function, and it being complicated to use is not really an issue, some people just straight up didnt know how to use it xD

But yeah acc wide ignore is neede

It being complicated correlates with people not knowing how to do it since it isn’t intuitive. On the previous forum version they used it wasn’t a problem since you had the option easily shown on the forum itself instead of having to go to their profile page.

Ah, well… I should amend my earlier statement. My dad was blocked on ALL my social media… he passed away a year ago and my mum took over his FB page so I unblocked it now :slight_smile:

You may want to mention that the ignore is per your character too. If you practice Alt-Fu everyone that you blocked magically reappears for your alt.
