How to end the division between Retail and Classic

How so? Classic has undoubtedly been a success and arguably is more popular than retail.

BfA was also popular during its 1st few weeks.
BfA currently has low time due lack of meaningful casual content.
Plenty WoW players substitute that low time with playing Classic

Does not mean Classic on its core is more popular, but it is a current trend and hype, but based on stream views its already going down.

There are 3 more lines in that quote of mine that you ignored.
Im far from the nochanges BS

You have no proof of this also twitch have gone from 1.2 million first week down to just above 100k .

Also the new servers they have made are ghost towns and que numbers and times are all but gone for few servers now .

Classic is classic which i still love and play to this day but stop forcing your narrowminded views on others thanks .

You want an actual answer to your titled question?

Stop making threads like this, you like classic play classic. Let retail players play retail without having to be constantly told about how they’re being stupid and playing the wrong game.

You are just here to stir up retail hate i don’t get why people just can’t get over people liking and playing both like its a sin .

Its a game at the end of the day stop treating it like it means more then it is and start treating people better just because they don’t share your view.

Stream views do not indicate how many people play a game, people watch games they don’t/can’t play. Though the twitch views have been impressive.

All servers with the exception of Dragonfang and Judgement are Full/high at peak times, and the only reason they’re dead is because they’re the free transfer servers that didn’t really attract many player. Despite that they did help reduce queue times, as well as the fact that not everyone is trying to play at the same time as they were at launch. Realm populations are very much healthy and stable despite some hardcore retail fans thinking the “rose tinted nostalgia goggles” would have worn off by now.

Stating that Classic has been successful is not narrow minded nor is it forcing my opinions on people. In fact it’s not really an opinion at all, it has been successful.

No it’s not. It’s hyped. It’ll quiet down.

Looop half? No it wasnt half. It wasnt even 0.1% of community. It was just couple entilted casuals screaming on forums. Mike Jordan talk about this on his stream and he pretty much agreed on fact that Blizzard caveing qnd returning flying was mistake. Sometimes you have to make some people angry in order to make game better.

Yes it is. Almost month and we still getting 4k+ queues so enjoy your dead game.

Yeah too bad that most people what play classic do not play or want to play modern wow. Retailers are not core audience of classic. And these people will never play bfa. Thing is thay this audience is much much larger than bfa audience so you can 100% expect shift in game desing. People what likes bfa were always minority.

I have no statistics to argue pro or against. To be honest nor I care. Those debates are pointless without numeric data - only Blizzard has them and we can only hope that they draw their own conclusions. Because no matter Classic or Modern - it is better for both camps if Blizzard stops messing about and pulls a good product in 9.0 or with future Classic+ servers (here i mean TBC etc)

Too early too tell still, something both sides should do well to remember

For example most of my RL friends are only just now restarting their accounts for classic and at the same time yeah theyre also checking out retail

Its doing what it was supposed to do and that’s great for all of us

@Elythrana: Not quite so… Hydraxian Waterlords, Ten Storms, Bloodfand and Earthshaker were “Medium” a bit earlier today already (I have not been in the selection screen all evening, so they may have been higher (briefly), German Heartstriker was and is “Low” and Russians are showing couple of "Medium"s as well.

@Redoctober, Radium: Thank you for the kind words, both of you. blushes I do make mistakes and I feel additional calculations are needed, but basically things look roughly like this:

EU shortly before Classic launched: Calculated minimum around 871 000+, estimated actual around 1,1 million (+ roughly 58 000 Russians).

EU couple of days ago / today: BfA calculated minimum around 801 000+, estimated actual at around 1 000 000 (+ roughly 48 000 Russians), Classic split as follows (estimates mine): English about 230 000 at prime time peak, Germans about 97 000, French less than 37 000 and Russians around 40 000.

As said, it is possible I am off, but it would appear that for a loss of roughly 80 000 to 100 000 BfA players, the EU total player count still went up by around 300 000. As BfA player base still appears to qualify as the bigger of the two, I took the rough first estimate for overlap to be around 10%, because increase looks to consist of mostly pure or almost pure Classic players.

Since the point was raised: No, I have no fool proof method of finding out the overlap, most of what I have is described above (at least for the time being).

I am going to make another recount for the BfA side and see, if couple of days have had any noticeable impact (certain parts of WCR do not update very quickly).

Are you serious? You compare or even state that WoW’s raids are inferior to FF14? Did you even did a raid in your life time? …“learn from ff14” …lol…what a joke.
From all negative aspects that WoW has, raiding is the only positive one. No other game on this planey, has better raiding mechanics or their complexity. FF14 raiding is a joke compared to WoW: red straps on the ground…really?
And this is coming from a player that quitted WoW 3 months ago, although i still have 1 year left of subscription. I quitted because i hate everything in this “BFA”, except raiding mechanic.

Why not remove cars, airplanes and trains instead? Lets see how you will see the real life then…full with “excitement” and “danger” lurking behind every corner.
At least WoW’s flying doesn’t harm our planet.

That’s the only thing that keeps WoW alive. Without LFG, WoW woulded be dead long ago. In case you didn’t noticed, wich obviously you didn’t, 80% of WoW playerbase is made by casual players. Now do the math how much money these 80% bring to Blizzard.
Casual players are people with families and jobs that don’t have time to spend to beg people in chat to be accepted for a lvl 15 dungeon. They want to do it fast and easy. They don’t have your time to spend 10h/day to fail EP on normal, like you do.

Achievements is the second main reason, beside LFG, that makes WoW so popular. Without them, the game would have no sense. Achievements are the only thing left to proove what a player did in previous expansions, taking in consideration that every time a new expansion starts, all your previous progress becomes obsolete.
Also, if you noticed on WoW accounts sale sites, the more achievements a account has, the bigger his value is.

That’s the most stupid ideea i ever heard. Clearly you still live in 2005 and have that nostalgia where you liked to be raped by lvl 2 mobs, but games evolve with the current times. We live in 2019, in a fast paced world where we don’t have pacience to spend 3 min to kill a lvl 2 mob.
…
Conclusion:

Clearly you are another frustrated retard that wants a custom game (a combination between Classic and Retail), but under your requirements or wishes.
Almost 90% of your suggestions where pure stupidity without even analyzing the consequences.
Most of your suggestions are for hardcore players, but you forgot to take in consideration the casuals. These casuals, “noobs” in your mind, keep WoW alive. As i said in another post: "WoW would not keep the game alive for just a few thousands wanna-be that have centimeters issues. Without them, this game woulded be dead since 2006-2007 if Blizzard wouldn’t add the “life quality” improvements they added since then ( flying, LFG, easy access to mounts, etc). Don’t you think that in these last 10+ years Blizz didn’t though to these ideeas? But they realised that they can’t keep the game alive with just a few thousands subscribers.
As a advice for you, in the future, before saying so many craps in one post, think before. That’s why you got that piece of meat in your head, called brain. It is made to use it.

Why? Achievements has been the best part about the game since MoP.

Trelw, thanks for explaining. I am pondering here about different type of subbers from that group. We obviously have those who came exclusively for classic and then those who purely play retail. But then we got those who play both and have been staying subbed and log in both games regulary, those who normally would play both and have been subbed but now spend their time exclusively in classic (waiting for next retail patch) and also those who stopped their sub in some point while waiting for next retail patch but came back early to play classic before next retail patch.

Reason i am interested in this is that me and all my friends who play classic show probably this moment as classic only players in activity measures. But truth is we love both classic and retail and will be playing retail again when it gets new content and we would hate if our “numbers” would be used as proof that retail needs to be completely overhauled from many of it’s most popular features.

Another pathetic response full of insults. I wont report it, cause i dont believe in snitching, but you made me giggle with so many NPC responses, its not even funny.
