I tried BWL and my guild said I had to be PvE specked. I tried it and now I completely suck in PVP.
So, Here is a question, are you paying 100 gold/week to PVP or what are you doing?
Because as it is now I dropped out from raiding in BWL and only focus on MC and Onyxia where I can have my PVP speck.
Because I don’t know with you but it would not matter if I have the best BWL gear if I have to use a useless raid speck in PVP. I will still be destroyed over and over by even blue geared people.
(I have already gotten my answer from all the posts, and the answer is, don’t do BWL, stay with Onyxia and MC so I can keep my pvp power in world pvp)
There is a reason why they introduced dual spec into this game. People well say oh you have to make a hard choice … what a load of baloney. Dual spec is great.
You should have prepared your ranking by farming a good amount of golds to afford everything. I stockpilled PvE and PvP consumables and 4k golds before doing ranking for example.
For Horde, it’s easy to farm between BG due to queue time : just roam into the world and do herbalism / mining while killing Alliance players. For example, you can roam into Eastern Plagueland and gather some Dreamfoll / Rich Thorium Vein, and kill players in same time.
For Alliance, it’s a lot harder since you don’t have high queue time for BG. So you don’t have many solution, that why prepare your ranking is important, stockpill consumables and golds.
You can go PvP spec for MC and Onyxia honestly, it doesn’t really matter I guess. BWL is another problem, depends of your guilds.
Maybe you can take 1 week break of ranking (just do enough honor to not derank, if you are below rank 11 it should be doable) and for the rest of time, go farm golds.
The last solution is to buy gold on 3rd party site, but you risk a ban because it’s against ToS. I think there’s some high rankers that have done that honestly.
Maybe a better solution is to find someone that trust you, he can give you some golds and you’ll farm after your rank (your guild bank, friends, …) ?
Sure, I don’t know what class you play, but for example as Warrior, I think it’s more worth to focus on ranking and pass for BWL now, and then comeback in raid later when you are R14, because the R14 gear is just insanely strong for PvE.
After ranking you’ll have lot of time to farm golds and do PvE properly.
When your guild will be OK with BWL, maybe they can let you a spot as PvP spec . Like everyone do on MC and Onyxia, because MC and Onyxia can be done in PvP spec easily when it’s on “farm mode”.
Pve speck fine? LOL, you are funny. I would trash a PvE speck with full tier 2 as a pvp rogue. You see that is how that rusty dagger rogue did it in the old days. He had pvp speck while the rest of the players had pve speck.
Take such a simple talent as Frostbite. A mage with no frostbite is food.
Take warriors without MS, they are food or improved intercept as fury.
Take Rogues without improved sap, master of deception, Camoflage or improved Ambush, they are food. (All these are useless in raid)
And don’t get me started on raid talents, then you suck so hard in pvp so its not even worth trying to fight if you get jumped.
as a human rogue myself, I went seal fate dagger build with 23% crit to avoid respect costs, worked well in pvp and pve. now with the release of bwl im doing combat daggers build, which sucks quite a bit more in pvp but it can do both quite easily, and no respect cost. if u made the mistake of being swords, then u have to endure 100g per week respect between cold blood/hemo and combat swords sadly
edit: also half the talents u mentioned are usefull but not required to do ok in pvp if u choose ur targets well
edit 2: don’t recommend seal fate for pve tho if u don’t pvp, its subpar to combat dags until aq lvls of gear or if u cant guarantee a feral druid in ur group in raids
Are you seriously saying you can survive without camoflage and master of deception? Then the guys you fight are either complete raid specked or noobs. Take your pick.
camouflage and master of deception are the 2 useful ones, improved sap and and improved ambush def not required tho, but I do always miss not having improved sap when in combat dag build
im just giving u a build that can do both, all u need is 1 5 point cold blood evisc to destroy any cloth/leather user with seal fate spec
u wanna see a screenshot where I do 1k dps in pvp with seal fate build vs a full pvp spec rogue?
edit: I lied, its 925 dps
