Hello! Just want to start off by saying thank you very much for the anniversary servers.
I am rolling the dice here and asking that you consider a ban/restriction for hard reserving items on anniversary servers just like you have with GDKP. I have seen many players complaining about this in game and worry it is starting to spark a toxic environment. It also stops other players from progressing and is just a selfish attitude in general.
Another subject that I thought was a brilliant idea was to make Jed in UBRS non rare or less rare to encourage more casters to join.
Thanks for reading.
If you hate hr so much either join a group that does not hr or make your own group and hr or don’t hr not that hard
wild thread lol.
Make your own group
I do not care about it too much personally, but others do. I just want what is best for the game in the long run.
Absolutely amazing idea! But sadly it is purely a players fault. The playerbase has immensely degenerated over the past years…
The system was the same in OG classic yet there was no HR runs at all and GDKP didn’t only exist in niche groups.
In 2019 there was a surge of loot greed and few groups that started to do HR runs, yet it wasn’t the majority.
Now in anniversary realms there are hardly any groups without HRs… it’s pathetic and disgusting. The greed has gotten out of hand, yet everybody feels entitled to it.
„It’s a lot of work to create groups and therefore we need to secure our rewards“ or like the first answer „if you don’t want HR, then create your own groups“ are some of the shallow excuses for toxic social behavior.
Funny how it was the same (or even more) work to organise a group, yet no one in their right mind would have thought of such a antisocial and narcissistic behavior.
It is an illness in today’s society being reflected ingame. Everyone looking out for themselves while creating their own misery is a paradox most people will lack the IQ to understand.
You can either (like me) use chat filter to block all HR and other nasty stuff and play in your bubble with friends and guild.
But MOST IMPORTANTLY: be the change you want to see! Do not start to spread the greed and toxicity yourself
Have a great time in Azeroth and focus on what matters
My solution to this would be:
Disable the option to turn on master loot in a group of more than 3 players.
Enable the option to turn on master loot again for a raid of 11 or more players.
Include Jed in one of the waves in the Rend fight. Or just make him not rare.
I never have and never will HR an item. I do not only care about myself and I want everyone to have fun and feel included when they play wow and no less important than anyone else.
Let’s say they ban HR runs and enforce it on Fresh. Now group leaders simply don’t invite any class/spec that they deem might compete with them for gear. Now you’re stuck with the same problem but with a weird rule in place that only limits emergent player behavior. What’s next? Make it bannable not to invite to your group whoever asks?
You contradict yourself here. A lot of people saying create your own group are just saying it to shut people up, but this is one way to be the change you want to see. If more people create their own groups without HR etc, then the HR groups will become much less of a problem overall.
That is not a contradiction. Maybe you didn’t understand what I meant.
People creating HR simply react „if you don’t like it, go make a group urself“ and while creating your own groups without HR is one of the solutions, it’s definitely not the right way to react when being a greedy HR group creator urself instead of reflecting over narcissistic social behavior
THIS! and 100 times this…
its def a big issue in todays society, that we start to see ingame aswell.
extremely well put, nothing more needs to be said or added!
marry me?
Also to put it simple wow is not designed for people to HR items. It is a social game to be played in a group. These people do not deserve to HR anything for inviting you. That is what the group finder is for, to make it easier to make groups. Not to broadcast the items that you need and use people to get them. Just… shame on you.
As a healer I get whispers from randoms when I’m in SW.
When I see “XY is HR” I just reply: Go bother someone else with your shopping list.
Jed’s trinket is BIS for both healers and DPS and while you can “fish for him” (target macro), he should indeed become a regular spawn.
Jed: He is extremely annoying for everyone, even the people waiting outside lol. People getting locked. Showing up and not finding him at all. Lets face it, Jed is notorious for being an absolute nightmare. Dual spec is a quality of life change. This would be a great one too. It would also help demote this HR nonsense by decreasing his rarity. Almost every group for UBRS in the group finder has trinket and mh HR and they don’t even have the key anyway.
Like I said before about another topic:
Player-made problems require player-made solutions
Make your own non-HR party and you’ll see those slots filling up real quick, I can assure you, there’s a lot of people on standby waiting for a group like that, so reap the benefits of a non-hr group by yourself
But keep in mind you’ll probably take a lot more time to get the item you need, since as soon as it drops, the person who gets it is not going to stay to do more runs with you, and the new member replacing them will also roll for the item, so you’re back to the same odds
I personally do not like HR groups but there’s no way around it
Use the dice in the game please. Roll
Selling items from dungeons should be prohibited as well. I actually thought that GDKP ban extends to any dungeon drop sells, but judging by amount of spam in Dire Maul General chat it’s obviously not the case.
Here’s simple analogue with our real life.
You can’t write “I’m renting out a house, black people not allowed”. It is not allowed to discriminate by law.
You could argue: “Well, I can just deny black people without explaining my reasons, so what’s the point of this law, it actually makes it worse for black people because they need to call me anyway”.
But obviously that line of argument is flawed and I won’t even explain it why it’s wrong. There are laws against discriminating for a reason and they do more good than bad, even if they don’t prevent discrimination completely.
It’s the same with forbidding HR items. And it was the same with forbidding GDKP runs. You still can try to organize GDKP runs, but obviously without spam in chats they will never be as popular and damage they do to the game is contained, just by forbidding advertisements alone.
If the party leader cannot invite any class capable on rolling on caster trinket, he’ll have much harder time to organize a group. That’s better situation than what we have now.
Honestly I don’t see why Jed issue is rised up so often.
I didn’t do a lot of runs in UBRS. Certainly less than my warrior friends fishing for their weapons from Rend which spawns always.
I saw Reed twice and won it second time. May be I was too lucky? I don’t know.
Yes, you need to fish for Jed, but that’s just makes it more interesting, if you ask me… It adds some diversity to ordinary farming.
So while I don’t like HR practice, this particular Jed thing is not an issue at all in my opinion… There are much worse farms in the game.
And this is the perfect example of a narcissist mindset without realising it yourself
There is no way around it? Yet people played without HR greed for decades… why is that? Because more aspects other „fast fast fast personal gains“ used to be important… or still are for many healthy individuals
