I am almost 59 and still have plenty of quests to do

Ive also barely been in dungeons, maybe 3 of my 58 levels were done in dungeons.

How come people always say you have to grind the last 2-3 levels of Classic?

I think that it was the case for early vanilla. Back then there wasn’t so many quests for later levels. But they added more quests so it should not be a problem for Classic.

Revantusk Village, right? I did 2-3 levels from that.

People say all kinds of stuff.
You may have to grind 57-60 only if you seriously mess up your questing route and even then I doubt it.
Personally I think you should mostly do dungeons for 58-60.

Done LBRS and DM East yesterday, by the end I wanted to gouge my eyes out. Dungeon design in Classic leaves much to be desired.

Because they are either unfamiliar with the quests in Classic and where to go in order to get them, or they have are using an inefficient questing route in order to level.

There’s also a mindset among some players that all quests must be yellow or red in order to be picked up, and green ones should be ignored. They don’t get that the green quests also give plenty of XP - and not only that - they often lead on to yellow or red quests further along the chain. Sometimes it’s even worth picking up a grey quest if you know it’s a long chain that it will increase in difficulty further down the line.

Perhaps most commonly, some players do not understand the need to hop between continents, taking two zones ot roughly the same level and doing the quests in both, moving to the other zone when the quests in one get too difficult (red) and then coming back later when they’ve levelled up a bit. This really all comes down to choosing an efficient questing route.

Usually when I hit 60, I still have almost all of the Western Plaguelands left to do, and haven’t even touched Burning Steppes or Silithus.

Or because they played WoW at release where you actually did have to grind lvls once in a while because they’ve added sooo many quests since them to 1.12?

I’ve never had to grind in my life, even back in 2005.

If you’re reduced to grinding, you’re using an inefficient quest route.

Same when i reached 60 still had all of epl, winterspring and burning steps quests to do,+dungeon quests to all the instances except brd prison break and mc attune

You’re missing the point.

There was a time where you did run out of quests in very early Vanilla.
That was fixed.

Im only in my 40’s and I only leveled during early patches before so this is my take

  1. There were tons of quests I didn’t know of that are drops I never got
  2. Many quests have pre-reqs I never did so I missed some
  3. There are more quests now compared to early patches
  4. Many elite quests are now normal mobs (onyxia dragonkin) so you can solo them.
  5. Many use guides now to help them

If you are talking about the very first quest in the Onyxia chain, then no.
At least for Alliance, the dragonkin are still elites.
Not sure what questline Horde got.
In fact all the elite quests I remember from Vanilla are still elite in Classic.

I could have sworn the dragonkin in the southern part used to be elites. Memories have faded I suppose. My other points are true for me at least.

I remember looking at Jamie’s guide back in the day after I got my mage/warrior to 60. He showed Desolace in a different light. I always felt that place sucked until I was taught how that area is unlocked.

Because they talk from their past experience back in 2004-06, where it was a lot more common to mess up your questing path and, thus, miss out on a lot of experience - especially at higher levels, where quests are harder to find if you don’t know where to look

I will ding with 5 55-60lvl zones which i did not even touch.

Then you should honestly go back to retail or another game. I’m not saying this in a condescending way, only that very little will change in endgame and this game is probably not your cup of tea.

Thankfully this game does not force me to do those dungeons.

LBRS has an awful design, don’t think peeps need to argue with that.

Grinding mobs since 40 lvl, 55 atm, have 700 gold in the pocket.
Planning to grind till 60, problem is most mobs are green.

First: I’m not Level 60 yet because i was on holyday for 3 weeks and therefore couldn’t play.

This “issue” depends on many things:
Do you use questie? (I don’t, therefore i probably missed a few of the small questhubs). I did use Google from time to time tho.
Do you only go for Questmobs or do you just go on a killing spree in the quest area?
Are you often in Dungeons and did you do the Quests for them?
Could/did you do all the elite quests (Hinterlands, Arathi…)?

Depending on your playstyle it’s entirely possible that you “kinda” run out of quests and have to grind/dungeon a few levels.
