Lol you are Jesus or something ? you canât even leave your house with this attitude You wanna say that ads on tv, billboards, radio , on yt,twitch are not type of exploiting to boost sells of company ?
If you never exploit something or someone you are hypocritical azzhole⌠rlly, like you never used for example public transport without paying ticketâŚ
Blizzardâs at a point in time that they failed miserably with BFA. They lost a lot of players due to how garbage the content was. The income is low. But they understand that they screwed up and tried to fix things as much as they could which is what we got in 8.2. Itâs not the best patch ever, but itâs far better than what it used to be and iâm pretty sure itâll get even better in 8.3 and 9.0. The thing is, now theyâre in a point thatâs between massive failure and trying to get back up with much less income. So they go and try these cheap things such as store mounts and subscription mounts and new shiny arena toys, etc. To increase their income. You gotta realize blizzardâs a company. Not a charity.
I would totally be with you, if one of these 2 cases happened.
1- expansion was doing well and they still did a lot of shop mounts which would have been too greedy.
2- Expansion wasnât improving and instead it was only about these mounts.
Itâs neither of these cases. Theyâre trying. They are actually listening and they did some great things with 8.2. But creating new and good content wonât immediately result in money. These mounts on the other hand, do.
So while itâs shameful and bad for a game like wow to be doing it, At this point in time, itâs a necessary evil. At least as long as theyâre actually trying on improving the game as well.
Well yeah, store sales boost profits and or patch failures.
In that sense itâs kinda good to have some additional sales to carry financially a failing expansion.
Obviously we would prefer them to not having to do that.
If weâre optimistic of course and say they need that additional revenue to keep wow going. Which would be the case if activision could not take a hit to profits.
My dilemma is that I am against the shop, but i like the shop.
I have no problem buying stuff i want, but that is the problem in itself, from enabling the practice which in the long run tends to get worse, and thank god at least wowâs mtxâs didnât yet go absolutely bonkers and I donât know who is holding the line at bliz, but Iâd tell them âthank you fo doing your bestâ. To the fact that itâs unhealthy to get caught in this marketing garbage and it costs money too.
In my personal case at least i donât like anything in the store, but I did spend lotta cash on character services.
I do think that if the game was doing extremely well and not operate on the addictive nature of mmos alone, Iâd have much less problem with buying extra cosmetics, but we all know that gaming industry would much prefer to spend less and get more in return. After all, making 6 store mounts costs much less than having to pay 800 people their salary, eh?
Mechagon. Mechagon is the reason I log in to the game. I wish we had more mechagons, on a bigger scale. Weâll see what 9.0 brings, but I bet if we are going to see more zones like this, weâd have to wait for the expac after 9.0
I really donât think toys would sell as well as mounts do.
But at the end of the day mounts are just cosmetic items too. You donât need several hundred to play the game. Just 1. Or maybe 2 if youâd count ground and flying mounts seperately.
Basically exactly that. Or at least is what I like about it.
The rep grind is usually 1 wq worth of activity for the day. Then is a quick run to hunt some rares.
The reward is just cosmetic for the most part, meaning iâd get more use from it than from an extra 10 ilvl stat stick, because cosmetics are the only thing that wonât get made absolutely irelevant by the next patch.
ANd the zone is just enjoyable to me aesthetically.
I wish it was bigger, and I wish we had more zones like that, just for fun, or challenging, or complicated. Just donât force us to grind in them⌠I so donât look forward grinding nazjatar wqâs. But at least I am hopefull we might see more complicated zones in the future.
The thing about cosmetics is that they are the only permanent reward. All gear gets irrelevant quickly, the cosmetics arenât
Technically we donât even need to level, killing critters could also be concidered playing the game.
But you do level, you want more content with more rewards, you donât NEED it, but it adds to your enjoyment and engagement. So do cosmetics.
Cosmetics shouldnât have a âget out of jail freeâ card for ânot affecting the gameâ because they do.
Again this entitlement that seem to only affecf gamers. Blizzard and other gaming companies arenât government and money you pay isnât tax money that must be used for bettering your experience. Once you pay for service that money is no longer your money. Its Blizzards money to do with whatever they want.

Itâs like asking your drug dealer to buy milk and bread .
" Dear drug dealer , I am deeply concerned on the way you spend my money that i just gave you ! "
I think that the creator of this thread doesnât understand one simple fundamental thing. Blizzard is a business. Just like Nike, Burger King etc. They make what people want to pay for. People want to buy mounts, period. If they didnât buy them, Blizzard wouldnât make them.
Now, what you are saying itâs the most idiotic thing Iâve heard in my life, which is, Blizzard shouldnât make demand for their product? Are you freaking stupid or what? Why would they even in insanity do that? So they make less money? Which business in the whole universe wants to make less money? Which universe are you living at?
Yeah. I do strongly believe in the power of cosmetics as they are probably the most improtant part of the in game rewards for me. To each their own.
I also agree with this, I wouldnât cal this an entitlement, but youâre right, itâs their job to provide a service and the items, itâs on us to buy or not.
However, itâs perfectly alright to be against a business practice especially if youâre a customer of said business. Concerns should be voiced, even if they go ignored. And they should be challenged, because arguments only make concerns louder and are also fun to participate in.
