Fair enough, I did a warfront in early BFA, and got MAXIMUM TITANFORGE on a pair of legs. It was as if though I was a mythic raider who warforged my pants.
Is that fair?
No.
It was the case, completely.
Just because you didn’t experience it, well, unlucky for you.
EDIT: Also got multiple upgrades from my mythic+ loot from world quests titanforging. It’s just not a good system, it’s completely trash and should never be replaced.
This is pointless. Awarding better gear to m+ because it can’t be overgeared so more people can overgear it. This is just moving the goal from 31-32 to 40. With the same people doing it. The only real solution is is to award different gear in raids/m+/pvp which can’t be used outside of it or is normalized to some lower ilvl.
Is it fair running 10 M+ dungeons and not getting a single upgrade?
There is no fairness in a completely RNG system, so the whole point falls apart.
That happened to me too but again, so what? You had 1 chance to get a quality Warfront item per week, and I was doing them every week for months while hunting for mogs, 1 of the drops was an upgrade while the other 10 or 20 were vendored trash.
Even if you were 3 times luckier than me you’d still have gotten only 3 worthwhile items from spamming warfronts for weeks on end. All other gear sources from simple content, WQ rewards were trash 99% of the time.
What I’m saying is that no one is that lucky to be fully decked out in mythic ilvl warforged items while doing ONLY trivial content. Maybe over the course of the entire expansion while gearing up at a snail’s pace once a month, but in that case, who cares?
No I meant that until they fix the unfairness of people not consistantly getting upgrades while doing harder content, I don’t care about the unfairness of others getting insanely high ilvls from World Quests and similar sources.
Fixing only the casual drops only serves to further elitism and gatekeeping, and people who don’t do group content won’t utilize their gear at any competitive level anyhow so it shouldn’t matter to anyone.
Yeah, bring back titanforging and make gearing even more rng, reward players for luck and not for what he accomplished, what can go wrong, that would be so fair…
Titanforge was the second worst gearing system ever added to the game right behind corruption. Good riddance.
I do think M+, PvP and Mythic Raiding should have equal rewards, at equal difficulty. Like +20 or some dumb high tier (going by BfA difficulty prior to corruptions) would be rewarding at least the end of week chest with max ilvl for the season. Just like Gladiator should reward appropriate reward.
Most people are unable to raid Mythic, most people are unable to clear a +20 (myself included probably), and most people are unable to reach Gladiator (myself included).
I’ve raided mythic in the past, but the commitment for me is not there anymore, and I’m fine with having a seperate progression from it.
In order to address your issue, you need to compare difficulties between raiding and M+, though.
For example, if you have two different activities: A and B, and A is significantly more difficult than B, then if B rewards gear as good as A, A will be neglected by the players, because it will be more efficient for them to gear up solely by participating in B.
Notice that I haven’t said anything about what exactly is A or B. As I’m not going to say which one is hardest raiding or M+.
You also need to consider how frequent the loot can be in both activities A and B. If, regardless of difficulty, A provides more frequent loot than B, then players will tend to participate in A more than in B.
Yes mythic raiders were doing m+ to prepare for their raids. It was necessary and it is necessary today too. M+ is still there. One still wants to run the +10 - +15 in a week for loot in weekly chest.
You say, if titanforging was there, mythic raiders would be mentally forced to spam m+ like i do? If yes, then its good for them. Titanforging will also help in mythic raid progression.
I agree bring it back, i enjoy m+ far more than raiding. Right now i dont need to run m+ except for weekly, and this will be a problem in the long run.
Sounds like you played a different game or forgot the clown fiesta of season 1, where all heroic uldir loot was completely trash a week after a release, because everyone war/titanforged everything from m+ and WQs better.
You still have +10 ilvls to get on one trinket, shoulders, helm, gloves, belt and legs. And also +26 ilvl on bracers. (From end of dungeon reward)
You have upgrades to get. And also some of your items are able to get tertiary stats or sockets on top of what they already have. A system I also despise.
