i dont get why people want wotlk era server so much. u realize warmane has been up for the past 10 years, has way less bugs, has way bigger servers, and their gms actually keep the community alive by interacting with it?? why are u literally begging for a worse version of the game that you have to pay for

you should rlly learn from death of nost that era servers hosted by blizz were a mistake

Boring for you maybe but I loved it so did a lot of other people. People have other opinions. I dont really like how the world has changed in cata

Because it was the last truly great era of WoW before the end-of-DLC patches started rolling in features that rapidly started degrading the community, spirit of teamwork, and started eating into mechanics generally dumbing down the game? Mebbe.

I´m curious. What makes wotlk so great for you, for example better than vanilla tbc? I suppose you are a tad younger?

personal opinion here. I liked WotLK because all specs are pretty viable to play, you could play alts and get them geared quickly. Karazhan, Ulduar and ICC are my favorite raids. I love vanilla but I would play WotLK immediatly again if they would open up an era server or something like MOP+.

Please Vanilla fresh

In your opinion perhaps.

even when i’m trying to find positives for wotlk i’m having a hard time. Ulduar and Firemages maybe?

In PvE WotLK originally was less balanced than TBC.

Paladin healer was completely out of control. I remember our setup in 25 with the easier bosses was with just one Paladin as healer for the entire raid after progress was over.

My Paladin twink was in a pretty bad raid. I had lots of fun though when healing the mt, regularlay offtanking stray mobs while the offtanks couldn’t match my healing aggro.

Shadowpriest was in an extremely bad position with Blizzard desperately trying to fix the spec by pumping the ICC gear.

Shield spamming Discs and flash heal spamming Paladins made druid healers completety obsolete.

I’m sure there was more, I don’t remember anymore.

TBC was not a melee friendly expansion, DPS wasn’t viable until Sunwell and Prot warriors were not fun to play at all. At least we could play Paladins in Horde, which was a much better tank experience in TBC. But as a warrior I will never forget what they have done to Prot Warriors. Even Blizzard admit the melee issues in TBC, but instead fixing Prot warriors for more balance in PvE, they made us OP with WotLK talents making me solo WotLK dungeon with insane Revenge build.

Sure, fun to play but a horrible way to address class issues.

However, considering all classes and design, TBC still the best expansion.

As they are in TBC, just not on an equal level. Some speccs were there in a more supporting role, like shadow priest or moonkin., but this didnt change in wotlk. Some dps were just plain stronger than others.

So you left because you couldnt do hardmodes, got it

Wrong, pretty much the exact opposite we got our full hardmode clear fairly quickly. but it didn’t stop me from losing interest over time.

Even though i find that TBC class design is the best ,tunining was questionable. Like Pacalis said playing melee felt so disappointing ,especially as a Rogue in PvE.

I use to play with Hunter in Classic ,then after getting to 70 i decided to put him on the bench and go with Rogue despite bad words… it was huge mistake. Finding a group was real torture and even though i had good gear my dps was mediocre at best , playing felt frustrating not only because bad dps ,but also being in fire as a melee with no compensation, while ranged would stand from afar and just pew pew mindlesly and still be way better then melee. Imagine being a class that doesn’t bring anything to raid besides DPS and at the same time being bad at it? I always thought that was delibarate move from Blizzard side for sake of class population balancing issues…

Long story short ,went again on my Hunter just to see things from other perspective and was mindblown how Hunter was far more potent then Rogue in PvE that i never looked back. Despite people talking about one button bore fest , in never felt that…actualy quite opposite , it was a very fun experience imho.

Other than death knights and paladins (and maybe disc priests) that were totally overpowered you could take most classes in any role. Gear was itemized better and like I said it was more alt friendly with gear catchups. For me the biggest downside was that there was virtually no reason to go back to older raids once you moved on to the next tier except for mounts. Sure you had fights that heavily certain setups but thats an issue that blizz still hasn’t fixed. You could take about anything and not gimp the raid
