Addons are always going to be a point of discussion when it comes to WoW. Some are there to do things like give the auction house better looks/functionality which isn’t a major impact to gameplay and then there are others like DBM which are solely there to warn you of mechanics in dungeons/raids which impact gameplay very heavily.
The game does seem like its being designed with these in mind, I don’t see why the game has to be that way though. Maybe Blizzard could create servers without addon support for those who want more of a challenge or people who want to reduce the clutter within their game client without affecting the experiences of others who want to use addons.
Raids are balanced around having a boss mod addon. It adds an extra layer of difficulty to the raid, because you need to track more abilities. If this type of addons get banned, then the difficulty of raid will be massively reduced, so we will be right where we started, just the raid will be way less interesting and the bosses will be way more booring to do. Bottom line is that we will be right where we started, but with over all worse quality raids.
The only people that agree with you are the people that never raid, witch includes all the Classic fanatics and retail haters witch is the majority of the forum atm.
Love to see you do any Mythic end game boss without them and they are designed not with DBM in mind because until the last fights are seen on live servers nobody know’s all the actions/mechanics as PTR doesn’t show them all .
DBM has been in some form since classic in 2005 ,the addon has been changed serveral times for example a boss in heroic ICC and 1 boss in mythic HFC .
All you asking for addons to be removed also don’t look outside the box .

Players that need those addons to be in the game so stop being obtuse with troll threads and think of ALL players .
Simple answer is don’t install them but don’t remove them and wreck other players games due to your insistent moans .
I understand your defence for people who have disabilites but I think you’re being unfair by implying that Electra is likening her opinion to those people with disabilites when she is speaking about players generally.
I do really think Blizzard could add more to aid those with Disabilites, like better visual warnings for deaf people for example.
Debatable depending on who you speak to, yes they’ve lost a great deal of players over the time since WoW’s release but that is due to factors both related and unrelated to the game.
I’d agree with this to an extent. There are good people in the community but the inclusion of additional difficulties/types of content has created a more competetive style game. Some players are reflecting the same attitudes that you see in all competetive games out there which often isn’t that nice to deal with.
I don’t think im being unfair at all she/he is calling the player base in retail trash which is far from the truth .
They have been promising to work on an improved colour blind mode for 4 years still hasn’t happened .
But they should do more .
Yet the community she/he comes from is far from nice you only have to see the troll posts with high level “classic” players in retail section .
I play both game and love both games but sickens me players like that ruin the classic feel everyone wanted back .
Clearly some ppl dont remember vanilla xD wow forum was even more thrash back then and ppl were pretty much the same which mean u can meet nice ppl but u could also see maaaany scammers,trolls and ppl who wanted everything without doing anything same as now,
Try mythic raiding with just a RL talking and no single addon (for anybody including the RL), come back when you succeed. Every raid would be designed like the vanilla raids. 1 mechanic per boss or per phase. Yes mythic fights are way too complicated right now given the fact that you need mutple addons to keep track. But! That’s better than Baron Geddon who’s only mechanic is a single debuff…
It is unfair, you chose to position people with disabilites as the subject of a comment from someone who spoke generally about the player base. Not once did they (in this thread at least) mention people with disababilites as a focal point. Its absolutely unjustifiable what you’re doing by trying to put words in their mouth.
I don’t agree that the whole player base is trash as I’ve met many nice players but you do often come across some really ill spirited people in modern games in general who will seek to create negative experiences for others.
Then lets rally people and make it a point of discussion so that Blizzard does take notice and do more, I’ve rarely seen people even mention disabilities in game let alone suggestions/complaints about systems to aid them.
I’ve seen troll posts from both sides, it will happen and probably will never stop. If you think that someone else is trolling you have the option to flag the post and if enough people do it that person will be dealt with. Fighting fire with fire and seeing who will burn out first isn’t a great method to deal with people.
The Classic feel was never going to be back 100%, so many people have joined WoW (and left) since classic and the evolution of the Retail game has caused for there to be various expectations of the Classic game from some players.
So you agree calling the whole player is bad yet you still go after my views im going to walk away as I don’t think iam trying to convey my thoughts properly either that or you are misreading what ive said either way its time for me to leave and let this thread carry on .

A buddy of mine deliberately plays the game without DBM because he likes having the extra challenge of having to pay more attention.
No reason you can’t just uninstall it yourself, as many have said in this thread. The game doesn’t make assumptions that you will use an addon to help you with a boss encounter.
I wonder how that discusion goes with his guild/raid leader for heroic and mythic difficulty “so Dave why did you wipe us?if 19 people are using weakauras + dbm why on earth arent you?”…that or anything on mythic +.
The point was never to have the addons or not,the point is content is designed around those addon’s,you cant just say “then dont use it” if everyone is using them for raid and mythic raid,you are then just gimping your team mates.
Which they are not because for Example until the end boss in tier 23322 goes live and people actually fight it nobody knows how the fight will go because

On PTR some mechainc’s are left out on purpose .
which means DBM dev person has to wait until all sources are out then finish DBM and constantly update it .
