If you consider playing Classic fresh, don't. More bots than players

The good kids are

If they open a fresh pvp now all those who spent thousands of gold to buy boosts and raid loot will be stuck on a server that only has them!

Bots are running the show?

B is running the show.

Stopped leveling at 52 because it was literally impossible to get quests done due to the level of overfarmed areas, and every dungeon group reserving literally every item, including random greens (lmfao).

I also heard guildies whining about the cost of consumes because people are charging silly numbers already.

No desire to play. Just waiting on the sub running out. This isnt the game it used to be.

Asmongold just released a video 2 days ago named - Blizzard should be ashamed of themselves.

Some comments (go check yourselves):

1- Man, gotta love Blizzard huh? It’s so obvious they let botting happen so they can get some extra money each month, disgusting (4.6k likes)
2- Those people are doing something wrong but Blizzard is endorsing it and generating it because they don’t care at all and it makes money for them too (1.6k likes)
3- Blizzard allowed this to happen
 Fact! (1.8k likes)
4- Imagine Blizzard is behind the botting, just to push a wow token in the new anniversary servers

Wild, wild how people misbehave by posting these LOL

Ever tried to create group yourself?

Yes, of course. Let’s pull down your simplistic strawman though. The argument you make is only used by children afterall.

Tell me how you make your own group with pugs when every tank/heal whispers you saying “HR X/greens for me” or “100g and I’ll do the role”?

I know those words are hard to come with but you can socialize in game, make friends, find guild. Find those randoms who share your view on game and don’t demand all loot. Last one is extremely difficult I know because it requires search for lfm more than 10 min

Second time you’ve moved the goalposts. I’m talking about random pug groups which I explicitly stated.

Thanks for playing, and better luck next time.

I think you are grown up enough to socialize with people yourself

I am honestly glad I prefer retail and mostly play classic in between retail seasons to have a relaxing time.

Not that retail doesn’t have bots but gold has become mostly meaningless there so it doesn’t really matter, their presence is barely, if any, noticeable.

In fresh era, I see so many bots in all level ranges in all areas in both the PVE and PVP servers that it’s honestly depressing, I feel sorry for classic exclusive peeps.
This is the reason I stopped playing in 2019 once I reached 60.
The bot infestation and the economy ruination is so bad, I am honestly amazed at the player’s perseverance, if I was a classic puritan I wouldn’t be playing on the official servers for sure.

At this point I think the streamers guild, Onlyfangs, has unintentionally created one of the best strategies to avoid suffering from bots, with their only internal trading policy.
I wonder if a server where you could only trade within your guild (maybe add a certain time in the guild as a requirement to avoid workarounds to RMT) would be healthier / more fun than what we currently have.

If Blizzard can’t truly stop the bot problem, they can most definetely force systems to demotivate bots from existing, if removing freedom from the players is the way to do it, so be it, I think most of the community would benefit from it.

  • Prohibiting trades / mail from non guild members (longer than X time)
  • Prohibiting trades / mail from non battletag friends (longer than X time)
  • Implement some sort of trust factor system that would allow trading outside of previous restrictions (like owning an account for longer than X time, +rep from trades and so on)
  • Limiting prices of items in the AH based on their level range / availability / gold available within the realm.

I am sure a lot can be done, but the classic playerbase is a stubborn one that generally hates changes and experimentation, so big tests like these would be met with a lot of negativity.

Thanks for playing bud.

Unironically the attitude I imagine the WoW team has towards their costumers.
