If you don’t like SL, it’s time to quit WoW

Ive been driving yet another druid through legion when i am bored of SL. And i ge bored a lot in SL.

On reset day i get the world boss, do one M+ for the GV. Then i try to get some raid spots filled in the GV. Then its anima grind…for the rest of the week. boring af…

AP grind was far more important than flying lol.

a lot of people got trapped by the clown mog back in november.

their 6 months subs will be runing out around april/may - therefore they are trapped in game and extremly frustrated.

as for me if years ago i didnt pay with gold for like 7 years of gameplay untill october 2021 i would be long gone too - probably in early january .

people have right to voice their opinions when game they loved got trashed - and any normal company would be terrified if 50% of their customers left in 2 months after launching their new product.

aparently Ion and Bobby dont care enough to take any actions.

It did.

I had some gold I wasn’t doing anything with and ehm… Yeah.
“Hello, my name is Tahra and I’m a WoW addict.”

Truth is; I wasn’t sure if I wasn’t subbed I would get the tree mount. That’s the main reason, as the rest of the patch offers me nothing. I HAVE changed Covenants to Night Fae again and I’m finishing up that renown. Then I’ll probably finish all the renown and all the covenants. At least it’s something to do.

I’ll probably let my sub lapse though after this one; I don’t want to wait months for 9.1.

Me too man, me too.

It depends on who you ask.
Even then, flying made the AP grind better

It did but we didn’t get it until patch 8.2. a year after the expansion launch when the AP grind wasn’t as relevant as it was in the first tier.

This is why I noped out of BFA until 8.2. I consider not being able to fly a tragic downgrade

The covenant callings are all you need. You easily upwards of 1k gold a day.

Now if only those callings were fun and fast to do but most of the Wq’s are just so slow and boring to do.
I do like daily callings where I can just open chests do a dungeon or elite level harder Wq’s but those normal Wq’s make STO’s doff missions look like a exciting feature.

Might be the class I am playing but I have no interest at all to redo everything I have done on my mage in SL on another character.

The whole expansion just feels like a chore everything is slow and boring I can do stuff on one character but can’t even think about doing it on alt(s).

I never felt this bored even on wod where people said that there is nothing to do.

I quit 2 weeks into it

Retail is trash now

Bots farm loads then get banned… they have to keep buying more copies of wow. I’m sure it’s working just fine for them with token boost sales on top

I think it depends on what you enjoyed, SL has no gameplay outside of pve or pvp. There is literally nothing to do.

WoD at least had certain things you could do outside of raiding, trying to get all followers, upgrading your garrison. There were some fun cosmetics / toys / pets. Compared to SL where you don’t need to do anything, but just login to raid nights. Since most pve / pvp things are time gated hence why most people feel like there is no content, nothing to do outside of the time gated pve / pvp.

Even BFA had islands, mechagon, etc. things to do outside of pure pve / pvp.

But then again we are comparing 9.0 patch to an entire expansion, which isn’t fair. Things might get better or worst. :stuck_out_tongue:

Well, it is a difference in content you COULD DO, and content you ARE FORCED to do.

I can’t see anyone be able to play BFA without

  1. leveling the neck
  2. unlocking essences and their tiers
  3. grind corruption items till you hit the lottery for the correct corruption and the correct level of that specific corruption.

In SL all you NEED to do is 2h/week renown leveling, and 4-6 weeks of thorghast for the legendary and Bolvar questline. That is all. The rest depends solely on you. If you wanna farm the ravendreth specific The Avowed rep or Ve’nari in The Maw.

heck, Pikaboo played Rated PvP Arena with only renown 9 for ~2 months during SL and it didn’t bother him that much. But imagine playing rated arena in BFA without neck leveled or traits unlocked

Yep, people still tend to do this, and if I would look up, the same people might be the ones crying that during WoD “they have nothing to do and they just sit in the garrison”.

I don’t think blizzard will ever win, since there are different people with different opinions.

For some people those activities outside of pve/pvp was somethings some people enjoyed. and for some they felt it being something they are forced to min/max.

Then when you don’t have the extra activities to do, a lot of people feel like there is no content.

Meanwhile there are a lot of activities to do that don’t reward you any interesting progressive gain, like achievements / mounts / pets.

So what do people want? things to do that give you rewards that is progessive, but make it feel like I am not required / forced to do it, how do you design something to be like that?

If there is progessive gain from it people will feel like they are forced to do it, just to min max. And if there is no progessive gain from it people feel like there is nothing to do, since it is pointless.

Exactly, we end up at the same “stupid” question I’ve asked some time ago, related to POWER progression:

If you would be in a room full of money, when would you stop collecting money from it ? If you could do multiple runs to carry, when will you stop ?

1 milion, then prob for secure reasons you say 1 more million, then … with loads of money comes POWER. Who would stop from wanting more power ?
Human nature is just this … we always want MORE of anything. But mostly POWER is the ultimate goal, and if you don’t have loads of money, then you might not even know what power tastes like, but when you taste it … some shady things happen

Heck, even what’s happening in SL shows how much people want POWER, and not “STUFF TO DO”, cause lets face it, there is stuff to do, cosmetics to discover, even a little power progression with the Ve’nari sockets, but people that blindly say there is nothing to do problablly are one of these 2 categories:

  1. they want Blizzard to force them to do stuff, dictate most of their every day ingame activity by repeatable quests (corruption assaults), or dailies (essences) and so on
  2. the want infinite power progression.

I am not a fan of any of those two. I could accept a form of the first one, like discovering essences but finish with that in 3 weeks, but make it account unlockable. But I will never enjoy UNLIMITED/INFINITE POWER GRINDING. Since I have a life, and a mood, some days I love to play WoW, some I don’t. If I was away from the game for 4 weeks and there was no major patch, there should be no reason for me to be left that much behind.

Yup that is why blizzard can never win,

But I think everybody has the right to like or dislike whatever they want or believe. If you aren’t enjoying SL then don’t play it, and let’s move on. There are plenty of games out there to try or play.

Exactly again. Looking at people that say they “LOVE” the game, and call an expansion “TRASH/GARBAGE” makes me wonder what if they got in a bumb during their relationship: from lover/spouse/wife/honey/sweetie to b##ch/w##re/lowlife.

I mean, this is the exact logical and reasonable think to do. An old cliche “you if love something, you must let it go”.

As soon as I’ve seen BFA making fun of me with leveling neck, unlocking traits, then it gives me another ITEM Upgrade that has ALL traits locked without the possibility to unlocke them unless you grind your mind out … what could I do ? I’ve left the game and at least 1 night per week, during a whole year, I’ve fallen asleep listening to WoW’s sountrack from ALL expacs, BFA included.

Now this is what passion for something looks to me. Loving the game, praising it and critisizing it when it needs to, all while being GOOD. Being a raged human doesn’t makes anything then your life miserable. And life has tons of times to make you lose it, it is up to you to keep it under control.

This is not just any game. For some it is the cultivation and investment of over a decade of playtime.

Of course the best thing one who is displeased can do still is to stop playing and hope that enough others do the same so that the beancounters decided to listen. Because angry money is just as good as happy money to them.

Personally, I’ve started writting in this forum as soon as I’ve found this exapc EXTRAORDINARY for me. And the only reason I came here to write, is because I LOVE THE XPAC but can’t play it due to LFG obsolete system and a really outdated matchmaking system.

It is easy to destroy, it is hard to build. I could just as easily came here at BFA when it was broken and ##it on it, and call it names, but what good would that make. There’s already tons of people doing that with pure rage in them.

I am not doing it just because I can say that at its lowest times WoW still was the best MMO and had the best gameplay ever.

This is such nonsense. If they make a good game people will play and enjoy it.
