If you don’t like SL, it’s time to quit WoW

I’m glad I’ve let that settle, since the complete answer was closer to reality.
Yeah, but if you can carry, deposit and be able to come back and carry again, would you do it ?

There’s one things that experience showed me, and that is that human nature is … kind of nasty.

I would bet that the majority of ppl would try to empy the room  If it takes too much time to do it, grinding it, then they will finally move on and enjoy their lifes.

But some people know how to control themselves.
They know how to set a goal and just work towards that. If they reach it; awesome. Job well done. Happiness. Then it’s time to set a new goal and work towards that.

That is what I enjoy about MMORPGs.
And at the moment that is impossible because my goals have been reached and although there ARE possible goals left, none of them are interesting to me.
That has never happened to me in WoW before SL (well, not this fast anyway - usually it happens a short period of time before a next patch, which is okay imo).

Yeah, it is in human nature the exact reason we have casinos, sporting bets, and stuff like that at each step or our daily lifes.

Example:
GOAL set to collect 1.000.000$ from that room, if it has that ammount.

GOAL Achieved.
NEXT GOAL: … hmmm what if I would collect another million, just to be sure I will be secured.
And that is not ABOUT POWER.
The thirst of POWER comes after you have so much money.

HUMAN NATURE at ITS finest.

While interesting (and there’s more I want to say about it), it is going off topic quite a bit. So let’s just leave it at this.

Just make optionnal content. EASY.

And I’m glad renown is basically a cosmetic thing rather than a character power thing.

I would be okay with it, if I actually LIKED the cosmetics on offer.
But I don’t. But even if I did and I wanted to grind Renown like a madman; I wouldn’t be able to. Because the content that I enjoy and rewards Renown is so damned limited.

There is cosmetic. You just need 250 billion anima to purchase those (Yeah, it’s crap)

That’s my point: I DON’T LIKE the cosmetics. Almost none of them. So they might as well not exist: I won’t get them because I don’t care about them. And the few things I did like: I have them.

In that regard SL is already a fail for me personally; I don’t like the Shadowlands aesthetic. It just doesn’t appeal to me.

That’s the thing : If player progression is being tied, then it would upset many players. So they can’t tie more powers to coveants.

Ok, gotta quit cause some person posted a forum thread xD
Very convincing, hitting that quitting button anytime now, just wait

No no, don’t quit. If you hate it, just stay and take it like a man.
Or in bad relations, where violence is involved, take it like a woman.
/s

I don’t get it, the OP is kind of right. If there are more minuses then pluses, why would you punish yourself. It is doing bad to your health.
There is nothing wrong taking a brake from the game for some months, even years.

Hell, the minuses in BFA made me take 1 year brake but I still love WoW, and played the other year of BFA since the minuses got fewer then the pluses.

It is never a black or white situation. All xpacs have + and -.
If you feel more - then +, then yeah, you should quit since … it would be insane not to quit and keep pushing it like a champ

I just farm legion and bfa content, casually.
There are still some Legion weapons appearances i want to get.

Thats called laying low and surviving this unfavourable to me meta.
When subs will drop and they will, cause casuals = revenue i will get my legion 2.0 and your salt, dear friendly poster.

They could if they kept it for specific activities.
In the case of covenants; why not limit those powers to world content only?
Nobody who just wants to PvP or just raid or just do M+ would care about them then.

Well, consider yourself lucky that you have reasons to log and still can play WoW as a lifestyle.
I LOVE SL but don’t play it anymore. And I’m not lucky as you to be able to be in game.
All I wanna do are 2s Arena, but cba to waste more then half of my time looking at the LFG window.

So again, you don’t find SL attracting, but you are lucky that you are still in game.
I’m not so lucky :frowning:

Being better than the worst expansion isn’t a compliment so why are you framing it as such?

So we either love Shadowlands or we should leave, those are our only two acceptable responses to the expansion.

Complaints/feedback will not be tolerated.

We’re paying a subscription fee for perfection, if the players don’t feel like the developers are making any noteworthy strides in that direction, they have every right to complain.

Why not both, I wonder?
One thing is that I have changed over the years, and so did my habits, the time I have at my disposal, and how it affects what I want from games.
On the other hand, SL is far from perfect. MoP had already damaged the story with a faction war that was built on poor twists, and BfA beat it by a mile. I doubt SL can fix all the glaring plot holes and story issues.
On top of it, content is poorly tuned. Torghast, which had to be a way for solo players to have a challenging content, gives no rewards apart from a bit of crafting dust - all it would need is a bit of gold, anima, and weekly gear token in Visions of Nzoth style.
Sanctum features are poorly tuned as well - rank 1 is often useless on its own, and upgrading to rank 2 takes either a lot of time, or a lot of grinding. Worse, the further ranks don’t promise any improvement.
The anima grind makes renown and reputation irrelevant. Instead of “yay, renown X or reputation Y unlocked Z”, it’s “how much anima I must grind to actually get something I just unlocked?” One system is cannibalizing others and making them irrelevant.
Timewalking, once a great source of catch-up gear, gives gear so low in item level it’s absolutely useless, even below crafted gear.
WQs still ignore your loot specialization.
The Vault still has no duplicate protection.
Spammers and bots are still running rampant with no real solution in sight, despite the fact people proposed many. All we hear from Blizz on that matter are copy-pasted phrases. Same with faction balance.

In BfA, I could log in, do 30 minutes worth of WQs, and felt like I progressed somewhere. In SL, I can do WQs for 2 hours, spend 30 minutes of it flying between zones, and feel like nothing was achieved.

SL did a few things right in the basic idea but the execution is often awful.

Didn’t your sub run out 1st or March? That’s what you claimed anyway since you’re so done with this game and keep complaining about in it every thread. Why are you still here lmao?

Of course it does, suckup tryhards got to find a way to justify why they find themselves playing, so create the illusion its great and if you don’t you suck/should leave. Which on the 23rd when my sub ends… I will. Hopefully it and it’s like find an empty server fun.
