For me its says ignored content if the OP is someone i have ignored. If its a reply it shows «1 hidden post» which i can click and still read if i want to. If someone quotes that poster it shows up in the quote so i see it all.
That’s why I would appreciate perma ban after a certain number of strikes…
Then it has a more direct thing to report, doubly so. More people likely to report it is better.
I don’t see how ez forum suspensions for such threads are a ‘headache’ for moderators if it would serve to have said people call themselves out and get themselves gone from the forums more frequently and for longer periods.
Well, in game circumventing an ignore to continually talk to a person even if you originally never said anything bannable because said person indicated they didn’t want to converse with you anymore and you circumvented the ignore to keep doing it; that’s breaking the game rules either way.

You even pay fines for circumventing bans on other online services e.g. google adsense…
Don’t get me wrong, but I’m not on the forums to play guessing games. I want to talk to people knowing exactly who is who and stick with one avatar for each poster. Online world is too impersonal already ajd if I can offer a reliable conversation partner, I’d appreciate it if others could do so, too.
This. If the person is being simply naughty, it’s more funny than annoying.
All that matters is the limits, honestly… if you clearly cross the river Styx that line, the suspension may wear off, but in the eyes of other forumers, there is no turning back from hell the Twisting Nether.
Treat it as a type of the oldschool in-game community. You wrong someone and a group of people, and your sin is set in stone. 
Can we please also remove the “ignore duration”? I really don’t need to re-think if I want to continue ignoring someone I once added. The whole system kind of promotes not taking ignore all too seriously nor use it as intended…

Just use the forever option.
Would be great if the update in game would also work on the forums, where you ignore one char and it ignores the lot on that account.

Just so you know, I opened this same thread on the US forums.
I fully agree with your suggestion, hopefully Blizzard listens to us.
At the very least, when we add someone to our ignore list, it should automatically ignore their entire account, not just that one character, like how is supposed to work in game in 9.1.5.

Participation on this topic in the US forum seems to be way higher than over here.
They should have two options similar to Instagram
1- ignore user
2- ignore user and all future accounts/chars they make.

A pretty dumb take in my opinion. I want to ignore the people who spam the same thread on multiple characters over and over, or that person who keeps on swapping characters and making new whine threads, or that person who keeps on making irrelevant threads, necroing them after days and weeks, and when I mute the topics, they make a couple of the exact same ones a couple months later.
I don’t want ignore to exist to avoid discussion, I want it to remove the annoying, attention seeking pests from my thread list. If they don’t want to pay their mods to do their jobs, which they apparently don’t, the least they could do is spend a couple hours coding an ignore feature that actually works.

Well i am more of the pro privacy person, but generally good person wont abuse the option to post or like on alts to confuse the reader.
So acc wide ignore or option to post with only one character sounds appealing to me cause they probably hurt spammers more than good guys.
Dont think mods exist to defend of attack opinions, nor create separate echo chambers for polarized viewpoints and ban opinions someone doesnt agree with. flagging abusers ( not poking at you or anyone ) still fail to learn the difference between its against ToS and i dont like it.
You are not forced to engage in every debate with someone if that someone is wrong on the internet

However, at the end of the day this is a place of discussion and idea sharing and cutting out discussion through an ignore feature does not belong here. If you want an echo chamber of agreement the join a community, discord, or guild with those are views.
if you or anyone else want to read only posts from people you consider not dumb and avoid everything from people whos opinions you dont share ( as you call dumb ) make discord and have best time of you live and agree on everything with these folks

Yeah so you read half of my post and made up a response to a point I didn’t make. I specifically said I want to ignore people who spam the forums. If I wanted to ignore people I don’t agree with to create an echo chamber, I would have had you on ignore, as well as Tahra, Daestra, Pickpawkit and many others. But I don’t.
However the likes of Twiluna, Furra/Gleopatra or Geist, who make several dumb posts a day on several characters, I’d happily put those on ignore, because much more often than not, there is no meaningful discussion to be had in the first place. They regularly make topics I have no interest in even having a discussion in to begin with.

you probably should redact the names cause namecalling is like calling people out, probs against ToS
