its largely meant to be psuedo-latin from what I can gather, and Dwarven is just a passed-down dialect of the original Earthern language (presumably Titan?).
Though the Anthem of the Titans in Ulduar also has a chorus that contains some Latin words and ends in a gesture of reverence towards Aman’Thul.
“Admira (Admire) Aman’Thul”

Goddess (tidemother) blind me.
That, or it’s a loan word from Thalassian from when the high elves were still Highborne and it was originally spoken in reference to Elune.

Four different alphabets have been used to write Common in-game. Elder Futhark, Faux Cyrillic, Latin, and an unknown original alphabet.
In this essay, I will explain why Common, Dwarven, Draenei, Thalassian and Gnomish are all just extremely weird dialects that all have their roots in Titan thus showing the fact that most of Azeroth is just a bunch of Titan races waging war on each other–

Titan runes, not Common; the ones you see on various assets in locations such as Ulduar are, as far as I’m aware, original and don’t resemble either futhark or cyrillic.
The languages of Gnomes, Vrykul (and by extension Humans), Dwarves, etc, are most likely descended from the Titan language, but they’ve also had a very long time to diverge into their own unique languages, with their own alphabets.
As for the Titan language itself, as with other in-universe languages it’s probably inspired by a mixture of real-world ones, but to me it seems to be closer to the Germanic languages rather than Latin, which makes a lot of sense considering that it’s basically copying Scandinavian/Germanic mythology, albeit with classical Greek aesthetics.
Must feel nice… Having actual languages inspired and made out of actual something…
I mean ‘‘Yiiiip… Yip yip yiip’’ (Damn… Must be nice)

I wouldn’t mind Demon Hunter wings
They were all locked in the cathedral basement to muffle the collective deranged screaming.
I, for one, respect that.
… Granted, I also don’t like high elves. (Or I guess mostly helves fans? High elves are fine, got some interesting evil themes despite having the worst npcs. Could have been a lot better with the themes but that’s how it is, at least there was potential.)
I would also like to bring up the real problem : Night elves should have been Horde.
(In this scenario, blood elves can be Alliance or Horde and makes me happy, as long as they stay their little bastard self. Ideally Horde though. The Alliance can keep the traitors helves.)
*To be clear I’m mostly messing around because I wanted to participate. I haven’t RP on AD in close to 2 years now so I can’t say any opinion on the state of RP and players now.
Ok maybe the night elves have been brought up already, I got to 300 messages and got bored. How’s the forum lately?

I suppose its better then being stuck in the wing that exists outside, but not in the Cathedral itself?
Damn Magi and their shenanigans. No wonder the Church was Anti-Magi
Not gonna lie, the Anti-HElf brigade was hardly any better… If it was a race, I can 100% tell you the Anti-HElf brigade probably won the race by the fact their lesser numbers won them more, obnoxious, A-hole awards.
But hey, to each its own. I suppose it depends on which obnoxious side you want to be associated with.
Night Elves should’ve been neutral. Same with Forsaken. Both races had core themes that could’ve associated them with either factions and the only thing that made sure -that- did not happen was cause both factions had to have a foothold on the other’s continent to make sure the faction war stayed alive.

Finally someone says it being Alliance kinda sapped them of all coolness let’s be fair
Also maybe it’s time to talk how dwarves are basically a Horde race by all measures

kingdom of heaven was such a good movie though.
Just to stay on topic -
Player characters don’t follow the lore conventions intended for NPCs nor they are some representational symbolic unit where 1 PC stands in for 100 background NPCs or something; The fact that there’s a high percentage of high elf player characters despite the race’s supposed low population, just means that a higher percentage of high elves are important entities imbued with agency and narrative focus (as all player characters are).
Also sorry but viewing player characters as some kind of animated NPC backdrop that must fit your personal immersion and lore interpretation is kinda cringe and entitled
