I'm Confused

This is the confusing part.
Choose Your Era – Prior to Burning Crusade Classic’s release, WoW Classic players can decide whether to advance each of their characters to the Burning Crusade era with the rest of their realm, or to continue playing the original WoW Classic content on new Classic Era servers.

So all classic realms going tbc ? Can i copy my 60 char onto a new classic realm. Or do i have to choose to stay at 60 on my classic toon or go ahead and lvl them to 70 ? Also no mention of fresh tbc servers.

Anyone can clarify what they mean English not my first language.

It sounds like you get the option to continue with your realm to TBC or continue to play on a new classic realm(not sure whether it makes phase 1 or phase 6 realms)
But more information would likely be available once it’s officially announced.

By the looks of it, realms become TBC and each lvl60 character has access to a one-time transfer to an always-60 Classic-only realm.

As you can copy your full Naxxramas geared character, one can only assume it’s a p6 realm.

No one knows for sure because the wording is too vague. However I’m in the camp that believe you either play your char in TBC when your realm moves over, or you play Classic on new realms that will be released. (Phase 1 with no transfer).

Because that wont happen. As all current servers transist into TBC servers, we don’t need more servers for the total TBC population. So makes no sense to add more TBC servers, fresh or not.

Not a word about the level of your toon = all get the choice. >

Well, it doesn’t say copy.
It says “continue” playing the original WoW classic content on “New” classic era servers.

Copies were never going to happen. That would mean either limiting the amount of stuff people could bring along, or everyone copying 10 characters at gold cap.

Yeah, it’s pretty much what I would’ve done.
Why wouldn’t I copy every character and funnel gold to one character afterwards? :stuck_out_tongue:

I just hope there will be forever- Classic (Vanilla) PvE servers too

Well, you could only exploit copy characters if you have the option to choose when to copy characters, which in itself does not make much sense for copying. If all your characters are copied at the same time, and you are not allowed to log into any character before choosing to use the copy or not then no one would be able to exploit the system.

By the wording you need to choose if you want to keep your characters on the going-to-be TBC realm or transfer them to a Vanilla forever one. No copies, only transfer.

Send all gold to a friend to copy once > send back > repeat with another friend.

And how are you suppose to do that without logging in your characters?

Do you really think that people won’t find a way to exploit a copy?

There is no way to find a way to exploit a copy if people have no say in which and when is the copy made, which made perfect sense for a copy because is an option that allows people to keel all options.

To just simplify in case my previous explanation was not clear enough let’s say TBC is launched on 27 June, they will stop that day’s current Classic realms and internally open new TBC realms that day, one per previous Classic, and also new Classic realms.

Then people the first time they log in they must choose what to do with their characters, continue with all characters in the equivalent TBC realm of their realm, continue with all characters in a new Classic realm or copy all their characters and have both options.

There is no possibility to exploit because every copy of every player of every realm is from the same date, 27 June, and once the servers close down that day for maintenance is not possible to change any data. You can send an email to your friend, copy your friends characters, send email back and copy then your characters because everyone will be copied at the same time.

You think that, but they will.

What could possibly go wrong if people had to make a final decision the moment they logged in? People managed regret or miss out on 3 months of free transfers, what do you think would happen with your suggestion?

That’s even before taking into consideration that blizzard would have to develop a completely new system for copying characters, instead of making minor tweaks to an already existing system.

There is no need for people to make any decision, that is the thing with copying, copying allows people to have all the options, so there is no need to ask anyone, people can’t make mistakes if they have no option.

Basically, all realms will progress into TBC, so Blizzard could just create those new TBC realms that day and copy all characters from current Classic realms and close those realms keeping all the data intact.
No ask needed because people won’t lose an option if their characters are copied. Then people have their character already copied in the old Classic realm and the new TBC realm. The option to keep playing on Classic just means for those people to choose on Blizzard migration site to migrate their character from one of the old Classic realms to one of the new Classic realm, free of course.

There is no new system required to do this.

If anyone want to play only on TBC or only on Classic they just will need to delete the copy they don’t want, wich on itself has already a restore system to avoid people loosing characters by mistake.

Can all classic lovers just be happy that Blizzard won’t take classic away from you? And from a techincal standpoint what you just said makes NO SENSE whatsoever.

What is the point to copy your character to a 60 server and run naxx forever anyway? I rather start anew at a later date when I want to go back to classic. Naxx will still be on TBC servers too.
