Since the dawn of online gaming, a P2W was always a gateway which allowed ppl to pay real money for (amongst many other things) in game power, REGARDLESS of whether someone can use this power or not, and WoW Token is literally this, a gateway which enables people to pay real money for in game power.

Boosting was around long before tokens, the only difference was people bought gold from sellers, or paid boosters directly with cash.

I played several competitive games over the last 23 years, all of which you’d consider p2w and I stand by my opinion that wallet warriors are not a threat to serious players in most, and definitely not in EVE or WoW.
P2W matters in every level above quest gear, your arguments are sucked out of your thumbs, I play for fun, I do whatever content I want, but play to win is every item received throughout paying for a higher ilvl so you can have an advantage to other players in any game activities based on power, and as we all know ilvl is a power. Also, don’t comment on what we can and can’t do, because you have no idea. If something can make me stop paying for this game is Blizzard employees who attack their customers, and that’s exactly what you are doing.
And you can get every upgrade in the game without ever selling a token. If you extend the definition of p2w to ever multiplayer game then it loses it’s meaning.
As for who’s on a payroll. You guys admittedly hate this game, post anonymously, and yet you’re here on this forum. If I’d hate a game this much I sure as hell wouldn’t spend so much time dissing it unless I’m paid to do so

Rofl this is not original definition at all. This is defintion what this community made up to feel better about their game being p2w. P2w is any game where you can buy power for real money. As long as imput = real money and output = power your game is p2w period.
I have not invested a single Euro for tokens ever, and I have had absolutely no problem.
Like, sure, you’ll have to make some gold at some points, especially if you raid a lot and burn through a lot of consumables. But its not that bad honestly.

Also, the people selling gems/enchants etc. are also making gold, to buy gems/enchants etc. in return. Thats called an economy.
welcome to my world this is what happens when blizzard listen to 1% of their player base and streamers who don’t play the game they should start with removing Thundering Quaking and add back Dps increase affixes that stays permanently until you finishes dungeons.
Then to redeem them self’s bring back the specs to how they played in shadowlands S4
Then remove these boring professions systems and bring back so i can have AH Mail box and Trade open so i can trade enchants lol
I mean… after your job you can then pick up a bow and arrow and hunt a pig, cook it, farm potatoes, peel them, cooking. Then farm some wheat, collect, grind, make flour, take some salt, sugar, water, make bread. Then you can eat. Why do you go to the supermarket?
