Incredibly low drop rates

And all those bloody Zhevra with no hooves!!!

“Why do I have to gain experience to finish my quest?”

Trust me, you should be happy you have to kill 50 mobs.

Don’t get me started on dragonscale leatherworking. I was seeing the Burning Steppes in my sleep.

because quests are designed to make you grind to fill the void of extra EXP needed. by low drop rates it forces you to grind - but the average player sees this as just hunting for drops. it’s calculated.

It’s one of those quests. There are a lot of those. The moment you feel like you’re not getting any drops you could just skip if you want.
Or keep the quest but just don’t focus on it and kill whatever it needs you to kill as you adventure around.

i love how obnoxious some people are, it’s like they think there gods because they played classic, i played classic before i got my account banned

i’d rather see quest that want 200 items that takes 2 hours to collect, rather then 8 items that take 2 hours to complete, that way im counting down the items needed rather than killing a mob and saying to myself ffs still no drop!!!

Did you need to necro for that?

The droprates are the same as they were in classic, the difference is that in the lower level areas you had nowhere near the amount of competition from other players for mobs spawns.

Some of the drops were notorious even back then, in particular Sida’s Pouch off the slimes.

what?
you speaketh nonsense lord vanilla man

well i’m off to collect the 8 of 12 remaining raptor hearts that has taken me over 2 hours to collect,

Or Turtles rarely have any meat, but must eat a load of clams judging by the drop rate.

The best for me are the spiders who don’t drop legs, they have 8 of them!

Agreed, it’s pretty obnoxious to necro a 2 week old thread just to whine

HAHAHAAHHAHA

Because levelling takes time. Thats why.

sorry in future i shall check the sell by date on all posts…

i rest my case!! shall i go play retail

Well said grandma

You’ll appreciate those grindy quests when you’re doing one and a blue or purple boe drops, as a world drop. Which you wouldn’t have gotten if you had only killed 10 mobs and got 10 items  Its rare that it happens, but its happened to me a couple of times over the years and its usually on the grindy quests.

What about getting a black dragon heart in blasted lands, apparently dragons are born heartless :frowning:

Its working as intended, its quests like this that are designed to help you get plenty of xp. I personally dont mind these grind quests.

I imagine non vanilla players would hate them and expect a drop on every kill, well im afraid classic doesnt hold your precious little hand like retail does.

At the moment I think they have definitely improved the drop rate if you compare it with the start of Vanilla. But I don’t remember if they already did this during Vanilla.
