Ion Hazzikostas on Mythic+'s Problems in The War Within - PC Gamer Interview

Does it though? When you look at participation numbers of all specs on all keylevels by far the mayority isn’t playing meta.

And obviously some professional things can be copied, like positionings or how to (LOS) pull.

Regardless, since the tank nerfs, there are fewer tanks and longer queue times.

You need a tank to… tank and you need a healer to … Heal.

Try to read with understanding please. Only thing that you are better that me in this game is number of posts on forum.

I did not imply that I was better than you, although I could probably make that claim. What I said is that people are already getting enough high ilvl gear from brain dead content, if you cannot complete at least a +10 you shouldn’t be getting mythic gear.

High enough M+ progress for you? And I am starting Mythic Raiding on Sunday becasue I finally found a guild I like to do that content with.

Hey if you wanna pick on somebody for post count atleast pick someone who has over 10k like me, leave amonet be :joy:

no, just try to do the r1 in hpal, feral, dh, war, even a class like dk uh (which is nevertheless “A” tiers) and complicated

If you say that it’s because you don’t do 15/16+
(and even if it is possible, you will be refused by 95% of the groups)
(you’re going to say, but play your key, it’s the same problem, hl, people don’t tag in “non-meta” compositions)

Yet it is the strongest heal, and by far
there are indeed 2/3 dj where you have to connect the brain(but oh, like all classes), like knowing how to mc the boss at nw (only class capable of doing it btw), or, be careful knowing how to mass dispel (only class with hmonk to do that too) on the last boss of bora.

obviously at a high level you have to know how to play, that doesn’t prevent the tier s classes, you would see the number fraudplayer (but really bad) at 3200 ratings with that spec.

You will never see a bad war/hunt … at 3200, on the other hand I have seen a lot of bad aug, dp, sham

I think that if, looking at the pvp, the solo shuffle is successful thanks to that notably (compared to the 3s; and YES it’s not just for that that it’s popular, the fact of q solo also adds to the success)

Moving goal posts. Not going to get into that.

Experience is a terrible argument, regardless. next.

If you do +15s or higher, yeah, the pugging scene will not be it, regardless of what you play.

No, at those levels pugging is not really viable anyways. The group of players participating in that content is way too small.

In coordinated groups.

It’s also one of the most hostile places in this game.

I don’t agree, no more than other aspects of the hl game (arena/mm+/raid mm)

all hl groups must be coordinated, it remains the strongest heal and by far on the high keys

because you know what I say is factually true, anyway the ladder proves it

experience makes experience

Why? Most people’s opinions are formed by their experience. If they have been in the “95%” which is pretty likely, that makes their experience valuable.

Employers regularly ask for people with 5 - 10 years experience, because they want someone who “knows the ropes”, do you think they are wrong also?

So, to be very simple here: for every experience you can find someone with an opposite experience. Being in the 95th percentile doesn’t make your experience any more or less valuable. It only means that you surpassed 95% of the players in the difficulty scale. Nothing more, nothing less.

Completely different ballpark.

Employers ask for experience (in a relevant field) because for every year in the “field”, you gain knowledge, you understand concepts better, you know of more potentially issued concepts (and how to avoid them), and so forth, which leads (or is supposed to) to a better outcome at a reasonable speed.

But when you discuss something (here, or at work), it doesn’t just fly with “it is A because I’ve got 10 years of experience” (or +15 experience when it comes to M+). What does that say? Does everyone with 10 years experience have the same opinion? No, of course not. It means nothing. You can at best come up with better arguments to why A is actually a better choice. Heck, this slightly relates to companies with strict hierarchies. As soon as you let something other than solid arguments rule, bad stuff will happen. You can read a lot about this concept.

Same when it comes to M+. Do you have high-end experience? Great, then you should know how to word the problematic parts quite nicely without having to state that you’re 3400 rio. And in the matter of M+…the opinion of a 3400 rio dude isn’t any more valuable than someone who does the “average” 1440 rio. Without that bottom 50%, there wouldn’t have been M+.

It can be argued against it. Depending on the question. If person has experienced more of said content or field then their opinion does add more value. Same story with medical advice. two opinions: one from a leading professor in the field and the other from a high schooler tiktoker. Both are just opinions yet people will still tend to listen and take seriously one more than the other.
Same parallers can be drawn in game. Question regarding m+: R1 mythic runner vs LFR hero who hasnt even set foot in m+. Both are opinions…yet one of them has more weight than the other.

Are you role-playing or trying to redefine ad hominem?

Thanks for stating the obvious, but the problem is that “tank,” who is supposed to “tank,” and “heal,” who is supposed to “heal,” are not having fun anymore due to all the responsibilities thrown at them, and they are also the first ones to blame. So, they have enrolled.

Good luck finding a “tank” who is “tanking” and “heal” who is “healing”.

It really cannot, if you want to uphold a discussion on a decent level. In decent discussions you do not really fight opinions, nor share opinions randomly. It’s all about the arguments.

The opinion actually comes last, not first. You base an opinion on a certain set of information. In discussions, while bringing in arguments, new information can be taken in. That new information may cause someone to re-evaluate their opinion.

As above; it’s about the arguments/support of that opinion. A medical professor in the relevant field will come up with an evidence based approach. Whereas the Tiktoker just pukes up a random alphabet-soup.

But at the same time, plenty of “well read” people fall for the " The Dunning-Kruger Effect"; they vastly overestimate their knowledge in something they know next to nothing about. And we can put quite some “high M+ rated” opinions also in that category. Even though they know how to beat difficult content, doesn’t mean that their opinion regarding game designing is any insightful.

keyholders are totally brainwashed… having 627 ilvl cannot get invite to a SINGLE +10 to do in entire week WTF is this… HOW people can be SUCH TOXIC… jesus christ

People aren’t toxic when they put their own key on the line and invite 3 of those 50 dps applications they get in less than 30 seconds.

And i have filled my vault with less than that ilvl. Not sure what exactly your problem is.

Blame Blizzard, not the players. There is a tank shortage and until they fix what they broke, you will struggle to receive invites.

And that is why the tank nerfs should be reverted.

Ok why is this toxic? Why would someone invite a, lets say 627 rogue when there is also a 637 rogue in the same queue?

Eh.

The problem is not the bolded.

It’s that I have no control over survival + my spec is just utterly garbage atm and it’s not getting fixed in 11.1, instead of giving us more baseline power they’re making us stronger with amps and CDs, when we need more baseline power. Renew need to be something that you actively would want to press against something like sustained damage than something you shouldn’t press at all. In my current gear, renew ticks for 25k, on a 6.5 million health pool.

We need buffs in the several hundreds percentages to stuff like PoH and renew. Our spammable heals need to actually be able to move bars. I have 6.5 million hp and my flash heal heals not even 10% of my hp, it’s just ridiculous. Tanks are reaching 10 million hp and my flash heal heals for 550k. Serenity heals for 1.2 million. Sanctify heals for 338k when pulsing damage from a boss like the 2nd in dawnbreaker is hitting for millions every second. PoH heals 100k.

As for survival, if people don’t press their defensives, CCs or interrupts and such, they’re just dead. I can’t outheal it. They just die. Like, why am I even there if I can’t do anything to remedy the situation?

It’s completely out of my control if we wipe on something like amarth or 2nd boss in dawnbreaker. If people don’t stop the volleys on amarth, we’re just dead. I can’t heal that. The 2nd boss in dawnbreaker just kills the group if they don’t press defensives for the overlap, nothing I can do about it.

Since the change to how CCs work against casts, I can’t even stop it myself as a holy priest. They just start recasting instantly again if I fear or chastise something.

The agency of the groups survival has been stripped from healers and they need to change that.
