Ion take my levels!

But you’d still need to RUN said servers. Which costs money.

I still think it’s funny that people went from not wanting a level squish, to thinking it’d be a good thing, to now wanting an ENTIRELY new game.

If people want to play them then you run them and to play them people need a sub. So just like Classic it would be ideal that people would want to pay to play a content that isn’t developed any more. Selling WoD access in 2019

You will get a different answer from every player on the forums. BfA showed that the current game has a lot of problems with players satisfaction and ability to deliver good gameplay. Trading a reboot for a vastly improved game with a sort of concordat for like 10-20 years is and offer even Bwonsamdi would take.

This will never work. too many unnecessary costs and complications.

Even if that were so, it would not be something Blizzard would ever offer. A complete re-boot, that is.

Not really. Classic is done for this business model. They said it has to work now and in 15 years.

There is a market for Classic. Not for what you are proposing.

And is there a market for Diablo Immortal? What we want may not equal to if a market exists for given product or service  I doubt any such large change would happen to WoW. At Blizzcon 2019 they will have to introduce next expansion or say it will be extra half a year or more, go play Classic, because more changes will be made to the game.

Yes, it’s called China.

How uninformed are you, exactly?

they can take the 60 classic levels away and make them 10
take outland and Wrath and merge them into 10
now level 20 is going to Pandaria to get to 30 and WoD to 40 then Legion to 50 and BFA to 60

or they can just drop a 0 and make level 12 the current top

That’s the most ridiculous thing I have ever read on this forum in 14 years of WoW.

Or they could just not make any clueless changes and do it like how I said in my first post: Without removing any levels.

this is it
I am leveling and the DING is meaningless unless am getting a new talent or new ability.

I don’t see an issue with it, The game needs it.

Max level 60 would be fine, but shorter jumps in future expacs but with the equivalent exp required for what would have been 10 levels.

The thing is the level number doesn’t bother me, but if that helps bring in new players again then it will do it’s job.

So then introduce a better talent system.

None of the points anyone has brought up in any of these threads are even remotely close to anything resembling a valid reason to remove levels.

There is 0 data to support that it would attract anyone at all.

In fact, logical thinking brings me to the conclusion that it would push existing players away once you start messing with a system that has nothing wrong with it.

If it ain’t broken, don’t fix.

Answer is pretty simple. No. Why? Wow is RPG. Character progression - is essential part of it. And therefore more progression = better game. I.e. imagine Diablo. Imagine, that though the years it has got 10 expansions. It’s 10x content. Would you remove half of your content from game? Answer is - no. If some players want to level faster, then there alternative ways to do it. We just need to buff Heirlooms. As simple, as that.

Ion is very hypocritical about this theme. He talks about level squish, but at the same time he has restricted Heirlooms to +50%, while we could have for example +500%. Item level squish has already done enough damage to this game, as item levels aren’t just squished. Some of them simply removed from game and that means removal of gear progression from certain content. This essentially killed this content for players. And this looks like pushing players away from old content into BFA, that is actually very bad.

Level squish would definitely do even more damage to this game. Of course it doesn’t matter for players, who do current content only and therefore old one is just pass through content for them. But for players like me, who don’t like current direction of development, old content is all we have. Removing this content = pushing me out of this game.

Unfortunately there are two fundamental problems with this game:

  1. Blizzard can’t make content for all players, they have. Therefore every expansion is different and suits different players.
  2. Target auditory of expansions changes even during lifespan of single expansion. Beginning of expansion is more hardcore, while it’s end is casual-friendly.

Recent expansions are very niche. That’s why some players choose older expansions to play in. Cata still has the best leveling. MOP still has the best atmosphere. And WOD is still the most casual-friendly expansion.

So, killing old expansions - is extremely bad idea. It’s big chunk of content, that should be used, not destroyed. I.e. level squish would kill this game, if only Blizzard won’t finally learn to make game for ALL PLAYERS, no just some niche auditory.

Heh, they can do whatever they want with retail WoW for all I care. The damage was already done years ago. Roll on classic!

Q and A.

Nevermind, just two clowns

It’s a real thing when people find it intimidating.

Endgame being the purpose would usually be why it’s real.

I like the idea of having ‘loose’ levels (whatever that means)

Seriously, you’re not going to lose anything, saying you’re losing levels in a level squish is like saying everywhere is further away because you’ve changed from using miles to using kilometres.

I dare to say that we’ll see that squish Next xpack. When ion talk about somethin this is already in development.
Im not against that change… in fact levelling is too long and unrewarding. but what they need to calibrate this change cause this could cause many problems.
Im an altholoic and levelling new allied is a pain. Even with last xp squish. But a reshape done with too rush would definitely mess the game. Plz ion. Test it. Test it. And again and again.

Read the whole post before replying.

In your opinion. It may differ from the opinion of other players or developers. Wherever it’s for the good or bad only time will tell.

Apologies for going off-topic for a moment but this raises a question for me: I’ve only played since WoD so, compared to many of you, I’m still a newbie! But I do remember I used to visit the class trainer when I reached a certain level (was it 30?) and could get dual specialisation. I haven’t seen that since I came back from my break which has been a while now. I’m assuming that got removed as well?

Now, if I visit a class trainer, there’s never anything there for me to do/get. It’s like they are there for the sake of it. Did they ever have a real role to play?
