So basically you do not know what you are talking about, so you decided to laugh it away, keep it up.
I’m not angry. The only way you can get 1-shot by a rogue like that is if you have no idea he’s even there.
I truly hope this is sarcasm. Otherwise I feel sorry for you.
Mage is the fastest class to level (multiple realm-first 60s) and the second-easiest after hunter (only because of pet). Your main nuke has a 50% slow (Frostbolt), it also has a chance to freeze the target (Frostbite), freezing the target also increases your crit vs the target by 50% (Shatter), critting with frost spells deals 200% dmg from 20lvl on (Ice Shards), you have freeze on demand (Frost Nova), frontal cone AoE+slow (Cone of Cold), ground point AoE+slow (Blizzard), absorb shield that is strong enough to fade without breaking from damage from 2 mobs (Ice Barrier), 2 more spell shields (Frost and Fire Ward), the strongest spell interrupt in the entire game that can also be talented for silence (Counterspell), the best CC in the face of Polymorph, the strongest kiting tool in the face of Blink, full immunity for 10 seconds to get healed and drop aggro (Ice Block), and the ability to do it all again (Cold Snap).
And you’re telling me mage is “hardest leveling class” Dude, seriously…
It’s not necessarily a bad thing to be the flavor class. I remember in Wrath when it was DK, sure there was a thousand hated DKs but the ones that were great and special, actually stand out.
And @Ness I dont think I’ve said anything about rogue vs mage pvp
It was regarding a post with that, I thought you meant that. Again, I’m not “mad” at mages. I would’ve rolled a mage myself if the class wasn’t almost as popular as warrior. Mage simply is the best class in vanilla, all things considered. All other classes have to put more effort for less or equal reward.
Wow dude, maybe call some level 50 + spells too, so we have full toolkit form level 1 , because that is how it works, you get everything at level 1.
Also please retain of using words best about spells when you don’t know sh*t.
It’s funny I was considering going mage early during Classic announcement because I liked the AoE potential.
Seems there was more potential than I realised lol
Edit: it would have just been a choice of what I find fun at the end of the day though
I don’t know what this reply was trying to convey, but it didn’t end up conveying anything…
People are laughing at you for calling mage a “hard class” when its ease of play is the MAIN REASON people are picking it, yet you resort to personal insults.
Tsk tsk…
For the warlock up there saying mages does not have too go through “Give us! Give us Give us!” Then… When was the last time you asked a mage for food / water? When was the last time you randomly whispered a mage for a portal?
And I agree too the mage up there, saying that mages CAN be one of the fastest levlers, but they are not by far the easiest. If you AOE grind, one mistake and your dead. one unlucky leeway hit and you dazed, dead. random internett spike? dead. random dc? dead. And not all mages level with only aoe farming. I’ve done maybe 8 AOE pulls untill now, rest have been quest. And you would be surprised how many mobs that are actually IMMUNE too my spells.
One thing I do agree on is this: Our PvE ST rotation is easy as frack. and the reason I rolled this class. If I can help my guild with the best aoe dmg, one of the best ST dmg while also being able too assist with leading, callouts, positions, food/water, portals, buffs, decurse etc.
Mage is just FOTM, not meme. People want an easy/cheap ride on their first char.
Yeah, water elementals… and that’s it.
I’m a warrior, by the way. It costs you nothing to conjure up some water and food, compared to a warlock requiring a soul shard for every healthstone. If you don’t want to open portals to random people in capitals, you can just ignore them. Or you can ask for money. You can also ask money for 55lvl water, when it comes out. When was the last time a warlock asked money for a soulstone? Never, because warlocks are expected to provide this utility. Meanwhile, players are expected to have their own food and water.
You’re underestimating that. All elementals have an immunity to something. Centaur have high fire resist. Treants etc have high nature resist, all that logical fantasy stuff
Tell me about it trying to kill Wastewander Shadow mages in Tanaris as an Spriest
Mage has low skill floor and high skill cieling /thread
very big tru
A Gnome but a Troll
There seems to be some hate in form against mages, whatever really
If they are so easy I would suggest them to level one, have wonderful conversation about how mages are all easy and your class is super hard.
I know. Water elementals have frost immunity. And that’s it.
So there are water elementals for one quest in Ashenvale, more water elementals in Arathi Highlands for the princess quest (which is bullsheet and no one does it anyway), and more in Felwood and EPL that are farmed for Essence of Water (this one actually matters). I can’t think of any other mob in the game that is immune to frost.
Wait for the penny to drop when everyone wants the meta and 12 mages in a 40 man dungeon are competing for 8 bits of loot.
Mages already are the 2nd most popular class (16%), coming immediately after warrior (17%), which happens to be the hardest class to level.
Now, if you actually look above this text, you will see the class I’m currently playing.
Hint: it’s a warrior.
That is not the meta. Guilds such as apes are running a 6 mage roster because warriors and rogues deal more dmg atm on st
