OK I hate to cry about this but it feels very unbalanced and this is more of a concern cause I’m trying to figure out if it’s even worth continuing on a server that might be broken. Wherever I go (beyond the starting areas) I always see hordes outnumber alliance by a big factor.
This can potentially lead to alliance players just quitting which makes the problem even bigger.
It’s possible I’ve been just unlucky but as far as Ashenvale and Stonelone (Stonelone is literally no-go for alliance) goes it’s pretty much impossible to run around without having to deal with hordes heavily outnumbering you. There are too few alliance characters around. I sit down at a place where hordes and alliance has quest objectives and pretty much all I see is horde come and go and completely dominate the area, and this happens right next to an alliance outpost where I was sitting in safety.
Is the server F*?

those 2 zones are heavy on hordes, but a lot of other zones seem heavy on alliance, I think we’re balanced
Yeah Stonetalon I agree there’s not much content for Alliance and it’s right next to the Barrens but I don’t remember it was this bad in Ashenvale. In fact I always thought it was even more of an alliance zone, for the most part at least. The central areas of the zone.
So that’s also why I started this thread maybe people can share their experiences in Hillsbrad which I haven’t visited yet but honestly my guess is it’s the same story over there.

Horde has not been able to make chars since like 5mins after the servers went up, not sure if that changed now but it will auto balance itself.
Today i was doing some quests and noticed i’m the only horde in a camp of about 4-5 alliance.
I’m assuming it’s just a layering thing and although the server tries to balance player numbers in each zone you could just have most of the players in a different spot.
Going to Stone talon on a fresh server as Alliance is only done if you want to be outnumbered. Ashenvalw is also quite an unpopular levelling zone for ally, we have Redbridge, Duskwood, Wetland + Deadmines & then Stockade spamming which allows us to go 20-30 usually without needing to go to Ashenvale at all. I’m on Spineshatter in the low 20s and I haven’t seen any Horde yet.
I will go to Ashenvale soon, maybe level 26 and kill plenty on the Zoran strand

Zoram strand has been bad as alliance imo but that’s because there’s a horde FP right there so it’s expected.
There are way more Alliance bots on this server though which is reflected on the gold prices on those “naughty sites” which is a concern for longevity of the faction on the server.
So we should stick to the zones where horde has no quests, no flight path and no outposts.
What about post lvl 30 though, that’s what I’m worrying about.
Not at all what I’m implying, don’t worry.
What I’m saying is when you roll a PvP server there will be an expectation of PvP, the server is quite balanced but zone distribution won’t be. If you choose to go Stonetalon or Ashenvale as Alliance on a fresh PvP server you have to be prepared to be outnumbered. It has always been this way, pop sizes were just smaller in the past so you didn’t run into Horde anywhere near as often.
It will be the same in Southshore, but as an alliance you should have a bit of a level advantage there.
When you go to Stranglethorn, Arathi etc onwards it will be more balanced because that is when the levelling paths of Horde/Alliance start to really converge.

We’ll see in STV, I think it’s gona be the same problem there. But I’ll know in a day or 2.
Stonetalon is a natural horde area, you can’t expect to be equal with the horde there.
Elves mainly level in Darkshore then Ashenvale, but I’ve seen plenty in Stonetalon as well, even had a few brawls.
STV is where you would expect things to be balanced.
The server is fine so far imo.

Seen plenty of alliance at SM, Arathi, Hillsbrad, Stonetallon etc etc i think it’s fine even in thousand needles plenty of alliance.
Sounds like a target-rich environment.
+1 Alliance, see you out there…
I recommend going to Hillsbrad.
Didn’t see this before.
Well it’s “not easy” for Horde to do quests over there. You might be better over there.
I hope Blizz gets it done to also get a balance for the layers.
I’m 40 now and so far it has not been bad. There are some Areas where its bad but mostly its fine. STV for example I was only ganked once.
Stonetalon is right next to the barrens and ashenvale is only a nelf area. Go to duskwood / redridge and there is probably plenty of alliance. Gnomes, dwarfs and humans all have their home on eastern kingdom. While Night elf are alone on Kalimdor. Ofcourse it is gonna feel more hostile in an areas that is horde controlled or very close to horde controlled areas.
As undead, i start feeling unsafe in wetlands. Like there is the line where I know there is lots of alliance movements. Even arathi highland can feel dangerous, but not as much. Hillsbrad foothills really depends on which factions invests more into the farming spots. However as it is now horde controlls the farm.
If Horde dominates in Hillsbrad and Ashenvale then that’s not a good sign is it. Hillsbrad is to Horde what Ashenvale is to Alliance, and vice versa.
Duskwood and Redridge are not comparable to Ashenvale and Hillsbrad because there are no quests or outposts for Horde.
Anyway, still not in STV but tomorrow I’ll probably start questing in STV. That’s the place that’s going to tell me a lot. But so far people are not complaining too much about STV and above so at least that’s reassuring.
There’s not many alliance players going to Ashenvale but there’s a lot of horde players going to Hillsbrad. It’s not the same at all.
