I am rarely on the official Forums these days, but I feel like these last changes kinda rubbed me the wrong way SO hard, that I just need to find a place to rant, where as many “blues” as possible can HOPEFULLY see.
To kick things off, SOD is a fun thing - but nowhere near the feeling of “Classic with a Plus” and much rather “Retail with a Minus”. But it’s alright - because nobody is forced to play it, we still have Era at least.
Until the last Patch hit.
Don’t get me wrong, the new Alliance WB is cool and takes away then need for MCs, but also takes away something that made classic,…classic.
Same goes for Druid weapons and the Guild Interface.
Changes, nobody EVERY asked for. Solving problems that never existed. Changing Era to slowly becoming something else.
These changes are not even minor. The new WB is a HUGE deal.
But yes,…now its just that…but no info beforehand? What does that mean for the future? Will we see more BS bugs that they are trying to sell as new Updates for a gamemode that is supposed to be as Classic as possible? (Boons already damaged that rep enough).
I am - and at least my guild are- here to play Classic. Not Season of Retail, not Hardcore, not Retail. CLASSIC.

So PLEASE - revert the changes. For experimental stuff, you have SoD. For a good Classic+ expirience, give us fresh servers. BUT PLEASE: LEAVE ERA ALONE.
Most players don’t do that - and it was never necessary. I’ve only seen it done by people who tried to parse in a 20yo version of the game. It’s a neckbeard-mechanic. It was possible to clear the content without it, why would it be a necessity now?
Well, parsing is only one of the many things. But it also affects the general gameplay of everyone. Having it conviniently available on Alliance makes raiding even less fun, because obviously, bosses will melt even faster.
I get it, classic can be very inconvinient. But thats what Classic is. If people dont like it, they should not play classic in the first place. This will drive people towards private servers in the long run.
And on top of that: These changes were completely unannounced - much rather, bugs that they try to sell as new features for Era. Complete BS. And considering there is no way you can trust Blizzard at this point, who says this will be the only thing that changes?
Cope about equality in game that was actually very famous for imbalance in everything and players needed to find ways themself and work hard to make their success being visible and worthy.
No Alliance dont need alliance version of rend. Actually original game had design in everything very right including pvp, pve and buffs. Its just those nowdays snowflakes that wanna make equal for both factions in everything and make game zero fun being clone of retail type crap.
What about the PvP revamp and the new AV meta? Not a huge deal?
What about the state of the economy, bots, boosting, GDKPs?
Now these changes? What’s next? Transmog? Pet battles? All thats not a huge deal, is it?
You have been here for a while and know how Era was in the early days. The community has never ever asked for these changes. Era was a museum, to be left untouched. It took more than a decade for it to be brought to fruition.
All that work is now being retailized, and it is pretty sad.
Thts the point. Era server were alredy changed 999999, “murdered” times before this last “bad” updtate but ppl did not complain about back than.
This #nochanges crowd is contradicting himself. How alience new wcb does more impact than complete pvp rank change or introduction of chronoboon displacer? And btw who asked to change r14 system ,or chronoboon ? Exactly, Noone. But ppl pretend like its ok and still use and play it.
The only reason why blizz did these changes cuz ppl were not complaining on previous changes.
I assume era will get other SOD changes not tied to spell books etc.
I understand that era is nowhere popular enough to merit specifically segmenting these changes for it.
SOD is not on the era client, era is on the SOD client.
It’s not worth blizzards time to spend dev hours undoing these changes for era.
The reason the backend got updated to dragon flight is SOD. With that came the guild interface.
Its not worth blizzards time to re-implement the old interface for era, which has a player base akin to a very small rounding error.
It’s important to understand this. They don’t hate you. This isn’t a ploy to shut era down. This isn’t an advertisement for retail. It’s collateral damage. They don’t hate you, they don’t think about you at all.
I agree on that - I do have complained every single step of the way. In fact, and if I am honest with myself, I complain a lot more these days than I would wish to.
I am all for reverting all changes back to what the game was in mid-June 2021 with the exception of the merging of the clusters. Everything else the community never asked for!
I been complainig every time changes made - maybe not much for PvP changes, as I not PvP and not understood changes. But all before changes, I complain. Old change to UI, I complained, patch 1.15 canges I complained.
Problem is, peoples laughed and wost at my complain.

I mean , the ppl who actualy play current version of Classic era are alredy supporting blizzard changes, and not supporting #nochanges guys. Blizzard already proved it many times by adding chronoboons and changing pvp system. But ppl dont want accept this fact that changes can actualy improve vanilla experience.
And as said, people ridiculed and derided complains, So it felt like complaining against strong headwinds. And sad to say most PvP people did ridicule. Maybe this mad me protest PvP cnhanges less than I would have.
You try go back and see what written about UI changes before, sad reading.
Problem is, your improve makes game worse for me, and other way around. So No changes is only way to go.
I bet if bliza actualy remove all the changes, CHRONOBOONS AS WELL , and give dispell griefers opportunity to remove wbuffs, classic era will be even more dead as it is now. Mark and screen my words
