The point is that Ysera isn’t a Wild God. She’s a dragon, and dragons are repeatedly stated to spend their afterlife among the branches of the Mother Tree, which is in the opposite dimension to the Shadowlands.
As was also evident by the Emerald Nightmare raid where Ysera’s spirit wanders off in the purified glades.
Kael’thas is repenting for his misdeeds in Revendreth. I hope he gets a redemption story and we eventually recover his soul from Shadowlands. We don’t know how time passes in Shadowlands. Maybe before the restless Scourge attacks Silvermoon we’ll be already back from the realm of the dead and Kael’thas helps defend his city.
Lorthemar’s words when i interact with him always hit me: “Never again shall king rule in Silvermoon”. I’d be happy seeing Kael’thas becoming king and Silvermoon getting rebuilt. Restoring Sunstrider legacy.
All TBC characters deserves a new chance in the story, considering how broken TBC was in regards to lore. It is even worse than BFA.
I was okay with Illidan being brought back, and I am okay with Kael’thas being brought back… hell, I would even like to have Kael’thas come back to the realm of the living, but that will probably not happen.
Why not? more customization for people that like it.
pretty cool honestly, not a fan of being Blonde Kaldorei but it works and I bet so many people will love it.
Can’t wait to have tattoos on my druid one step closer to looking like Malfurion.
Btw anyone else noticed how bland and ugly the Kael model is? And the new Sylvanas one…they don’t have any discernible features, they looks like standard elves compared to say HOTS.
TBCs lore was basically writers grasping at any mildly recognisable name they could find from their old RTS games, and throwing it at players in the form of “content” (a.k.a. Raids and dungeons).
It’s obvious that back then they were far more shortsighted in terms of how they could handle narrative assets.
And yeah, that all translated into having random loot pinatas regardless of how stupidly they introduced the reasons to turn them into such.
In short, think the same: Not really that miffed about SL bringing some back, because they might yet salvage something out of them. The bar is set pretty low for that to not be the case.
So bring some Maldraxxus Zul’jin, or some Maw Teron Gorefiend, and add them to the list that already counts with Vashj and Kael’thas.
Ardenweald is the dark version of the Emerald Dream or something like that so I guess powerful beings can travel between the 2. Maybe the night fae invited her for some afternoon tea?
and this is the power of Prince Kael’thas! One day he will completely reunite the race of elves of Quel’thalas in one single group and make them leave both the Horde and the Alliance…if he could return among the living lol
So Blizzard caved in to screeching fans again, my what a slippery slope…
Well, I’m happy for the Void Elf players atleast, I personnaly don’t like anything about them, but when it comes down to it they’re alot more interresting and original than whatever ‘Alliance High Elves’ would’ve brought to field.
Add: with that precedent set, It’s only fair they give more options to the other Allied races too, some of them were far more lacking than Void Elves were.
The fact that they’ve done so at all, when originally they stated it would just be the core races, is quite telling.
No, I noticed, hence I said it was a slippery slope - It won’t be enough anytime soon, it also sets a precedent that with enough mewling you can make blizzard bend anyway.
And that’s also why I fear other things will have to suffer for it, the lore and the story(which granted, isn’t much anyway these days) for starters.
But I’m happy for you, guess time will tell if you actually get to play your Alliance High Elf paladin, but the lore will have to get massacred further for Void Elf paladins to work.
Oh and paying 50 euros to get customization options that entail copy-pasting other faction’s races…yikes.
In time most of them will be ok with this and will probably stop asking about High Elves completely…for the majority of them it was always about the aesthetic, not really about the lore of playing a High Elf of the Silver Covenant or another High Elven group…most people don’t care, as long as they can play a look-a-like Blood Elf in the Alliance.
Still, Blood Elves get to keep some unique features like classes specific to them (Paladins, Demon Hunters), bright hair colours, now have blue eyes which is the true high elven fantasy (without the corruption of the Void) , also the lore of the race and their history (Quel’thalas, the Sunwell) is still on their side anyway…it’s not too bad, I mean Blood Elves are not being completely stolen by the Alliance, and everyone can RP as a High Elf now if they want (even if personally I never liked blue eyes that much anyway and prefer green or even golden over blue, not just for the Blood Elves, but also for the human people in real life green eyes are way more rare and beautiful than blue in my opinion (sorry if anyone has blue eyes )
technically there no real lore base with giving the horde paladins in the first place even pre fall the high elves was simply priests clearly this is just horde bias
Actually there were very few High Elven paladins even before the Third War. But after the Blood Knight order’s creation, they became quite a lot in Quel’thalas, because not only former warriors, guards, spellbreakers but also priests who lost their true faith in the Light decided to join them and simply use the Light of a Naaru as a battery until the restoration of the Sunwell (like Lady Liadrin who went from priestess to warrior to paladin lol )
