So I started another Fire Mage ( no 7 ) a couple of days ago and this time I thought while waiting for dungeons I would actually quest. Anyway I have just received 6 new quests from Farstrider Enclave in Ghostlands to kill catlords and poison some meat racks … thing is while I am collecting linen here I am actually picking up Frostweave in dungeons as I am now level 61 and doing Lich King dungeons.
I am Level 61 Exalted with Silvermoon, Undercity and Thunderbluff and honored with Bilgewater my tailoring is 158 and enchantment 143 and cooking 85 and fishing 51… but still in Ghostlands killing level 60 catlords for linen. So I kinda don’t see the point doing anymore questing here. In truth I could finish this area and pretty much have rendered all the rest of Kalimdor and Eastern Kingdoms pointless. And really so too Outland and Northrend.
So I guess I’ll forget all this crafting stuff.
Just seems a bit bonkers to me. At least if there wasn’t scaling I could super speed up the questing process and at least do catch up. But with mobs still 60 here I take as long as I always have to deal with things. Just that I could carry on questing here and probably would …
Press pause as I was just doing Nexus and levelled to 62. Off to do my catlords now for linen. Can’t even do silk cus there is no place to get it. Well I could carry on and go to Silverpine I guess…
Just feels all pretty silly in truth. I am now queued for my third Lich dungeon and still in Ghostlands.
By the way you can’t really do dungeons properly for questing cus they don’t relate to any of the levels you are doing. I am not in Northrend I am still in Ghostlands. I just keep hitting the dungeon button as I play and that is super fast compared to the dreary dull boring tedious mob killing that is a product of scaling. Stuff is still yellow here and takes a while to kill. But hey… that’s the game now. So funny.
Something to do I guess while I wait for dungeons.
PS I got to 85 with this char yesterday and actually got into two Panda dungeons whoo hoo. Crazy places. Couldn’t understand any of it. I just ran around like a headless chicken. I finished up on this platform with some flying thing and the floor kept going to fire and there were guys on cannons or something. Was really easy… Panda dungeons are. I don’t bother picking stuff up or even upgrading. I have to wait so long for a dungeon it just put me off… and I really hate Pandaria. Man is that place annoying. Sadly Cata is worse.
Anyway… back to killing them catlords while I wait for 63… Azjol-Nerub and wiped cus the stupid tank pulled the spider. Happens. He got kicked and now I am waiting. Again… so funny.
i’m a lilttle confused here. Your thread (if I read it correctly) is saying that you want to level via dungeons, but doing questing whilst you wait. However, as you are doing dungeons you are outlevelling the quest zones and therefore random loot drop at the same time?
That’s kinda what happens if you choose the dungeon route of levelling. Unless I am mistaken this is a kinda Cake vs Eat it situation or have I missed something vital?
I wanted to level via the dungeon route on a fire mage, and only dungeons. This character is that char I started at the beginning of January. However at 80 I gor sick of hour long waits for dungeons so I started over. I have started and gotten 6 characters to 80 and then again had to give up cus I can’t pop a dungeon. They just take so long.
So instead of being bored I started another char a couple of days ago, my seventh and this time also did the questing. I am now 62 with that char and in Lich Dungeons but still stuck in Ghostlands questing.
I try each night to do a Level 80 dungeon but sometimes the clock ticks for over an hour so I watch YouTube and do other things. I have been playing for 11 years and am sick to death with questing. BORING. And endgame does not interest me.
I would like to get to 120 with dungeons. I have already gotten to 120 on a character and never done a single quest. Was hard but that was the challenge. This challenge doesn’t work cus nobody queues for 80 + dungeons on the realms I play. I can’r wait for an hour for a dungeon especially as what just hapopens tanks and or healers give up and leave.
Sorry Punyelf but you can’t tell me to stop. This is a free forum. I am frustrated with scaling and I will show that through my posts. If you feel so strongly about it get the moderators to kick me. Thats what you do isn’t it when you view someones frustrations at this crap system.
The problem is scaling. Without it I could carry on. BUT I AINT SPENDING ALL MY TIME KILLING AND GRINDING YELLOWS.
The threads may be boring and tedious and repetative. But that is what SCALING does to a player.
So you refuse to do large part of the leveling progress and complain on the forums that you have to start a new toon, following the same process with the same outcome. People call this insanity.
I said this on one of your other similar posts and I’ll say it again…just level a character to 120 through whatever means necessary questing, dungeons etc etc then at 120 you can spam Mythic+ as much as you want, which is exactly what you want to do.
That is true. Levelling is boring. It didn’t use to be boring when I could level without scaling cus I could travel through the game with ease. Now it blocks you from ever being able to progress cus of the tedious and boring nature of the health pools.
Questing makes no sense as zonal progression has been removed from the game. There is no progression in this game. And it gets worse as you try to make sense of Northrend and Outland.
I loved levelling in this game. I really did. I have been 11 years and over 50 characters soing this. But now I am struggling to find one route through the game that lets me enjoy all the content. I can’t cus of the time penalty scaling introduced.
I’ll say one last thing… Scaling is killing this game. The lack of progression or sense of progression at all levels is what is makjing this game boring. The whole feeling that you are getting better and better is gone. And the game structure is just whacked out of any sense of reason. The game I once loved got destroyed. If they hadn’t changed the scaling issue I wouldn’t even be on the forums. I’d be playing the game and not bored out of my brain waiting for a dungeon.
I’d say that “That is what scaling does to a player who has made your choice of levelling style”.
What scaling provides others is the ability to finish a zone and it’s lore without outlevelling it and having to move on to other zones to get EXP, leaving storyline and lore behind.
You dont want to quest
You dont want to do endgame
You dont like queueing for dungeons.
Sorry to break it to you, but people aren’t gonna magically queue to more L80 dungeons just because you put your own little blog about it on the forums. I don’t think I’m alone in saying, yes, we know you’re waiting. You don’t have to inform us about it every other day.
Yes. Punyelf can’t stop you from posting. However see it as a warning. Because Blizzard might see your posts, being the same everytime, as spam and give you a temporary ban.
