hey hey!
very simple, I need a laptop for work, ( I Have a desktop for gaming etc) but anyway I was just wondering if anyone knows whether or not an Intel HD 620 graphic card would be enough to play classic wow.
thanks in advance

IV been using a intel pentium 2.4GHZ and a integrated intel card and itās been fine tbh for classic while at work, but honestly if you have the option Iād go for a little more beef. Even a 2GB Nvidia would just make it absolutely safe bet and 8GB of RAM .
Dont play games in work because you are there to work and not to play games.
Gues its should be fine, whats your cpu and ram? And most important part, classic runs on 64bit only so take care of that⦠Had to reinstall whole windows on friends old laptop because of that, he got even worse card than you but he can play, only his fos drops to about 30 in OG with 200 peopleā¦
It will be but you can get something with Nvidia MX150 or Ryzen based laptop with better GPU performance - just to be sure and to no limit only to Classic on medium/low settings. Check given model on notebookcheck.
We play mario kart at work with my boss
If it is a government entity that you are working in, then both need to be held responsible because your technically stealing the government money indirectly.
Iām sure I read that anything over HD 500 will be playable.
Probably with ground clutter and view distance on low, but still at least you can play at work lol.
In some jobs youāre paid for your availability, not necessarily working continuously. For example sysadmins often have quite a bit of downtime. Of course when something comes up you drop everything immediately and get to work.
If OPs work isnt paying for the laptop they get no say in whats installed on it, if OP pays for the laptop, its a private owned laptop which is sometimes used for work
I will agree you shouldnt play games at work tho
Where did he say he would play WoW at work? As far as I read āI need a laptop for workā⦠that he can also play games on?
Anyway OP, I bought a laptop for work and also gaming 2 years ago, an Acer Aspire F15 for about Ā£550 from a UK supermarket that was marketed as a gaming laptop and I honestly have had no problems playing any game Iāve wanted so far. I can play WoW Classic on full graphics settings with no lag spikes. Very satisfied
I play WoW on an Intel i3 and GeForce 940M, both very weaksauce these days. I get 40+ fps even on recent content and not even on minimal settings (havenāt played BFA though). Classic runs flawlessly though it does get the fans noisy at times. If you canāt get 60fps with something like this on Classic, something is very seriously wrong with Blizzardās optimization. That said, the 940M is likely better than whatever integrated GPUs you can get from Intel. Iāve heard AMD does iGPUs better. Something like a Vega 8 should be absolutely fine, though Iāve heard of throttling issues on the cheaper Ryzen laptops, especially Lenovoās.
I am playing Classic on an 11 years old laptop with no issues.
I bought a 1000 euro laptop and it runs WoW on max settings with 100 fps.
Itās the company he built from the ground-up 10 years ago. Having said that, we have developed stuff FOR the government, but we arenāt a gov entity.
i just go in second hand and picked the cheapest first i buy i didnt open for 200⬠and it had no screen what a rip off wad very funny lights when i tried to turn on computer hehe
Thats probably why he is getting a laptop so he can work with it and play with it when he not is at work or having a break.
Love that you just assume āthe worseā things like the dingus you are.

Pffft. Iām a sysadmin / dc analyst. If you donāt have a lot of work to do you should be looking for improvements as per ITIL CIP!
I play on HD620 at work. Itās alright. 60+ fps on low, downscaled a little to 900p. Very playable except maybe raids. Did 5man dungeons, no issues, steady 60-80.
