Least Favourite Dungeon

Following up from

Ananda gave me the idea to see what dungeons people haven’t enjoyed.

Easy that one

Shrine of Storms

You didnt list the one you dislike

All the wave based ones, Black Morass and Violet Hold(s). Also any dungeon with consistent boss skipping.

I’m giving it careful consideration first!

Tbh it’s likely to be list at this rate.

Atal’Dazar… that place is so god damn boring.

Anywhere in Blackrock Mountains. People running around like headless chickens, missing bosses, missing quests, do we skip or not?, losing people halfway through…
Gigantic PITA.

Anywhere that I get lost … which covers many dungeons

I’m gonna choose… all of the SL ones!

Nah I kid, Theater of Pain was certainly ok in my opinion, though SL dungeons were some of the weakest by far.

Vanilla: Wailing Caverns
TBC: I love most of these but Black Morass was just tedious.
Wrath: Occulus, no contest
Cata: Grim Batol, ugh.
MoP: Siege
WoD: Everbloom.
Legion: Cathedral or the Argus one (Seat of the Triumvirate I believe)
Bfa: Storms one
SL: most
DF: Ruby life pools

Aesthethics wise, unpopular opinion - I can’t stand Waycrest Manor. I hate the witches & pigs theme, ughhhh. :face_vomiting: :face_vomiting:

Other than that, I usually judge the dungeons by the mechanics, and not visually, because let’s give the art team some credit - they’re always carrying other departments. And when it comes to mechanics, I absolutely dreaded Shrine of the Storms and I will forever hate the Azure Vault from DF.

Any dungeon with weapons or other mechanics to clear mobs in massive amounts that are not your character.

Like Tol Dagor cannons, Iron Docks iron stars, Neltharus chains, Necrotic Wake orbs, spear etc.

I pretty much asked to be on the bench for first boss in Ulduar because I HATE, ABSOLUTELY HATE things like that. I also hated the occulus. Blizzard can never do these things in a way that it doesn’t feel bad and they should stop implementing them in any raids or dungeons. Leave that stuff in world content.

easy - de other side…

To repeat the format…

Vanilla: Uldaman. Too many quests that required you to get out and go back into the place. And no one ever wanted to go there - understandably
TBC: Black Morass, it felt tedious and boring
Wrath: Violet Hold - again, tedious and boring
Cata: Grim Batol - too gimmicky with the flying bit
MoP: Haven’t really played MoP, but torn between Siege and Gate of the Setting Sun
WoD: From what little I’ve played of WoD… Grimrail Depot
Legion: Seat of the Triumvirate
BfA: Shrine of Storms, easily
SL: Theater of Pain.
DF: Uldaman again. Just an awful experience all around.

Overall least favourite dungeons:

  1. Uldaman (DF)
  2. Shrine of Storms
  3. Seat of the Triumvirate

Completely agree. Hard to pick between those two however.

Black Morass is extremely depressing to look at.
But Violet Hold was recycled in Legion, which means it was annoying for a longer period of time.

All in all, very boring dungeons.

Cool music, cool atmosphere, fun boss mechanics.
I really liked this one.

Netharion’s Lair this season. For the stupid Avalanche cast and this stupid Worm Boss alone! :rage:

1 - Uldaman (Df) - purely from a Resto Shammy pov here, most of the bosses are a nightmare to heal due to people being spread out or have a painful dot before a knockback.
2 - Oculus
3 - Violet Hold

Blackrock Depths
Or really, the whole Blackrock mountain and whats inside

Every single Wod mists and cata dungeon.

Black Morasse… loathe that dungeon while doing TBC TWs.

Vanilla: Anything that has to do with the Maraudon dungeons, never liked the place especailly with people falling off somewhere and good luck to find them again.
TBC: Old Hillsbrad Foothills (Thrall dungeon). Endless RP and most of all the part where Thrall gets the horse and the speed was slower than running but faster than walking.
Wotlk: Halls of stone. That 5 min boss fight waiting for the mobs while protecting Brann just makes me want to alt+f4
Cata: Between Halls of origination (long dungeon) and Well of eternity, endless RP sections with Illidan.
MoP: Siege of Niuzao temple second boss boring to just wait there for ages.
WoD: Bloodmaul slag mines just feels boring.
Legion: Cathedral/Triumvirate easily.
BFA: Shrine of the storms (Shocking to say I know)
SL: De Other Side: Painful dungeon overall from packs to the boss fights.
DF: The Azure Vault: mainly because of the skips required to do depending the affixes to make it in time.
