Legacy servers should stop at BC and not WOTLK - here's why

Yes, standing around for 2 hours to get a group for a dungeon and then spend 30 mins travelling to said dungeon just for the healer to go awol after first boss is by far miles better than a group finder tool.
Dont get me wrong I k ow what you mean, click button go go go kill boss and leave without saying a word. Well all I have to say there is that you can start a chat going, you dont need to wait for someone else to start talking.
I can honestly say in all the dungeon finder runs I’ve done about 80% included a decent chunk of chat.

Wrath is coming, are you ready?

Chat in WotLK LFG PUGS? You’re in a tiny minority then.

My own experience with any form of ‘chat’ was largely along the lines of:

“fast run plz skip all”
“GO GO GO GO GO GO GO GO GO”

or the occasional “FFS” followed by /quit if the instance happened to be Occulus.

I personally have experienced the whole spectrum LFD, from socially nice experiences to dumb trainwrecks, and everything inbetween.

I personally prefer TBC’s dungeon experience, but at least WotLK’s dungeons aren’t as tedious as Vanilla ones. Still, for the best experience in WotLK I prefer to have at least 1-2 friends in my group.

Pretty petty to make threads wanting blizzard to not give a classic server of a expansion you dont want.

If there is people interessted in playing them, Blizzard should make servers for any expansion, just because you didnt like a expansion, doesnt mean that noone else does.

TBC is my favorite, and i will be so happy if blizzard announces that we will get TBC. I wouldnt take that away from someone that really love WotLK or any of the later expansions for that matter.

As long as there is enough people that want to play them, why does it matter to you if they make them or not? Just dont play them, noone is forcing you to.
People wont stay longer in TBC cause a wotlk server wont come, there is a rather higher chance that the people who want wotlk will quit sooner if you deny them this.
Same with the people who dont want TBC to come cause that would make people leave classic.

People that want to progress, wont stay anyway, they will simply quit instead of moving on, so the end result is the same for those who want to stay in a expansion forever
Just a silly attempt at trying to force people to play with you longer, and that is simply selfish

I don’t understand how this concerns you ?
If a Wotlk will be release it’s for all pro Wotlk, not for you.

It’s a no from me dawg.
Wrath has an enormous fanbase and was the most popular WoW expansion ever.
Also on a more personal note it’s when I actually started really playing the game and I have a huge amount of fond memories from it.
If you don’t want to play it then don’t play it, the rest of us will, thank you very much.

Achievements are fine, it’s good to have something to work on in your free time.

LFG was introduced in TBC, you’re thinking of LFD which I think the Classic community has inadvertently made a solid case for with its rampant boosting problem and dead dungeon running scene outside of SM, ZF and BRD.
It also added the badge system, which to this day was the best damn system for gearing up they ever added.

Was a player creation and came around at the end of TBC, yes the community was finding fresh new ways to ruin the game for themselves even before RIO.

Yeah ToC was crap, but then again it was mostly for catchup gear and to bide time until ICC so it served its purpose.

I might be in a minority here but I think that large dungeons like BRD, UBRS and Strath are good and give more depth to the world than TBC/WotLK short ones.

The best thing imo would be to have a mix of them.

I think that the current situation with difficulty in finding “normal” dungeon groups among all the boosting is as good an argument as any for some limited form of LFD tool. Ideally it would not be cross-server and won’t teleport you to the dungeon. Perhaps a slightly modified LFG from TBC that makes it clear what your role is and what dungeons you want to run, and whether you are willing to lead. I don’t recall what LFG actually did, since my tbc server avoided it like plague and everyone did their groups by spamming /2 in Shattrah.
Oh, and you could easily have gearscore addon now in classic, it’s just that it has little value with how all over the place classic itemization is. In TBC and onward, the item’s level roughly translates into how much power it gives you, as long as it’s for your spec. You can bet whatever you like that there will be an itemlevel addon at the start of TBC, probably even integrated into something most everyone uses, like the spec viewing is now in Details.

The first few times, sure. But once you ran them dozens of times the “exploration/depth” argument kinda loses weight IMO

They also give less of a feeling to play the game linearly and a more open world feeling.

It’s not really “open world” when you get in there with a strict plan of what you intend to kill, anyway. At that point I’d rather have a dungeon being more interesting on the gameplay aspect rather than trying to take away 2h+ of my life.

Plus, a dungeon can be short without being “linear” - just look at Steamvaults, for example.

I agree with you 100%. I adore TBC because it was the moment in WoW when I first joined but man was I a noob. I only got as far as Kara and Gruul and that’s when they were already nerfed. I only started to raid end-game in WOTLK so I’m super stoked for TBC, but I really wanna re-experience WoTLK again.

Stop at wotlk?
They should have both tbc and wrath servers cus both is good.

i think they shot themselves in the fot at tbc. with flying mounts and leatherworking meta
so maybe just stop at classic. just start classic season2 and its all fine

Classic already exists. You’re free to stay there while the rest of us moves to TBC Classic without ever looking back.

Also it’s fun how you seem to dislike the “leatherworking meta” and “flying mounts”, but “engineering meta” and “world buffs meta” are apparently ok :ok_hand:

If only there were a clan like feature so that you can chat with a big group of people and play with them instead of standing in Stormwind spamming tradechat.

Ive come to the horrific realisation that it doesnt matter what blizzard do, now.
The nice folks, the type i enjoy playing, left in p2.
Most have families now.
Most have scratched the nostalgia itch in classic, and are dissapointed with the boost/gbid/perfectoptimisation BS that classic brought out of the majority of playerbase

Wth weird sad servers are you all playing on?
Man I’m glad I rolled on a grown ups server.

Youre a rogue who can only pvp in the place where rogues are weakest.
If only ZT was as grown up as HW…
