I have…doubts tbh. Do note that I don’t have any grudge against open world or its players. My beef begins if the open world content becomes chained with the current “big 3” players and thus if you want to be a viable raider/m+ runner or PvPer then you are forced to “kill those boars” as well.
The delves introduces rewards which scales to heroic level raid. Personally, dont care, dont mind. Anyone who seriously plays m+ or raids will out gear it relatively quickly anyway. But what will happen once the world content runners plateu in their progression? Knowing our dear Tahra, will be up in arms again fighting for “nobody cares about world content runners” again.
So with the current situation world content awarding…normal level gear? We will just kick the can down to HC level and be once again at square 1.
Yeah… My worry is that that obsessed part of the playerbase is going to ruin things for world content players AGAIN. If that happens, I’m truly done with WoW.
If they do things right, that won’t happen too fast into a season.
Personally i think so long as delves do not exceed mythic+ max gearing, then there is nothing to worry about for those types of players.
After all, mythic+ is already an infinitely spamable way to get gear.
Anyone who feels the need to have the best gear asap is already on that infinite treadmill.
Delves could offer a nice alternative for if they get sick of dungeons.
Or if they hate delves, mythic+ is still there for them 24/7
Dragonflight is the worst performing expansion of all time. Like it isnt even close at this point.
You lose this one with Taliesin, Preachgaming and Bellular, the people who like the people on r/wow love Dragonflight, but for some reason barely or dont even play it.
Yep even more needless complexity that will inevitably get pruned. That is why these evergreen systems are a joke, they wont last more than 4 years once Blizzard realize everyone has quit because ppl cant handle the current game design and it is driving people away.
Sadly it will literally take 4 years for Blizzard to realize the talents should be pruned. Since they´re pretty clueless and have no idea what direction to take the game (except for monetization which they seem extremely good at).
We are not doing it by choice you know. Those 3 pillars are extremely competitive and people are always looking for an edge. You either play the game or get off the “card table”.
We will have to see, wont we? Too fast = plateaued, too slow = delves are not “worth it”.
Honestly I don’t really care, If it’s good I’ll play it regardless, if it’s bad I will ignore it. I just hope the rewards cap-out at 1 HC item per week, so it doesn’t become mandatory.
At the Q&A they were talking about different difficulties, and judging by how they design expansions, TWW started develpment after SL so I don’t think it’s a long shot to assume it’s going to be using Torghast tech and scaling. It may actually provide a decent challenge to keep most players engaged.
legion was definitely one of best expansions, I only hated what they did with pvp, rest was amazing
no one was forcing you to farm ap, you did it to yourself, I never farmed it and i was 90%+ on logs all the time so it wasn’t any close to being mandatory, just gave you feeling of progression
I didnt mean to imply the gear from delves was spamable.
Just that mythic+ already exists as a spamable way to get the best gear in the game. Well, just shy of best anyways.
So since people can already spam for bis gear 24/7, delves will not affect those types of players.
So long as the gear is not better than what you can get from mythic+ (which we already know its not), they can just keep doing what theyre doing already
You can have open world content drop same ilvl gear as M+ by simply having a “Mythic power” stat on M+ gear which increases player power specifically in M+ dungeons.
They always do, hence why forums are such nice entertainment, either on boring work shifts or commuting. Seeing some virtual Karens having a meltdown never gets old.
