How many people came before and said that, do you reckon?
Do you really think Blizzard will ignore the money forever? Even the pessimist in you must see that.
Race/class restrictions will absolutely be lifted. They are not core to the gameplay experience at all.
Mag’har becoming priests while regular Orcs can’t be did not break the game.
Tauren Paladins did not break the game. Why would Forsaken? Or Night Elf?
Gnome Hunters did not break the game. Why would Gnome druids?
Blizzard will life these archaic restrictions eventually, their competitors in the MMO market already have done so and it’s not affected them in any way but positively.
no youve just been justifying your own point of view while ignoring everything people say because youre convinced youre right
so far your only arguments have been money and “other mmos are doing it”
the first is just you guessing and the second doesnt mean anything either since no mmo will ever be as successful as WoW is and thats without your suggestion
and before you mention FF, don’t, its not more successful.
Certain classes could be extended to more races sure but not ALL of them.
Otherwise…I will have to hear a darn good lore explanation why gnome and mecha gnomes who are obsessed with technology and building “better and faster” contraptions all the time or goblins who only care about makingz moolah…suddenly embraced harmony and “tree-hugging” and became druids?
A combination of launching at the right time, a gameplay loop people enjoy and a pretty good marketing campaign/pop culture. That’s what made WoW popular. Obviously something as small as removing class restrictions wouldn’t stop that.
But it would improve the game. And it would make them more money. It’s a net benefit.
Plus a race/faction change gets them more than a single month of subscription. Ten thousand could unsubscribe because of this (And that’s being incredibly generous) and the money they’d make off those microtransactions would immediately make up for as if thirty thousand had left. And it’s an ever-evolving loop of money.
WoW’s modern success isn’t based on subscription numbers anymore. If people want to leave over this hypothetical change then Blizzard can let them and their shareholders wouldn’t give a damn.
