Leveling nerfed AGAIN in 8.0

06/08/2018 10:43Posted by Idli
How did all of this started tho? Why did we really needed this major xp nerf? I understand the scaling, in attempt on making a lot of semi-forgotten zones a bit more populated and meaningful, but the xp nerf? Were there this huge amount of players complaining that the leveling is " too fast" as the amount that clearly thinks it's too slow right now?
simple they want more money and since people love allied races they are probably hoping people will just give up on heritage armor and just boost or race change, plus if you really want the armor you will end up playing longer and therefor be subbed longer.

i mean i have seen a lot of allied races in normal armor and i do wonder how many of them are leveled and how many are race change.

in the end this feels like a money grab almost a tactic that EA would pull off but with less subtlety.

Draenor can be leveled without any looms in 1-2 days, lol

Didn’t you fully read it? I didn’t have the Heirlooms that’s why it took me a while. I don’t even have flying. Why does everyone expect a brand new player to be decked out? And have you done Draenor with the current scaling without Heirlooms and flying? Come back to me when you have done it and you’ll understand why it took me a while.

Two relevant and helpful words, flying or not : Treasures. Handynotes.
You're welcome.

Maybe Blizzard will revert leveling back to pre 7.3.5, if we all say that we're having fun with the current leveling experience.

ROFL we can but dream. It would be far more likely that they would delete all forms of XP gain in the game except for 1xp point per boar/pig killed and hail it as a fantastic success story because now people were getting to know the true story and learning to play.
:p

Fine, but do we have to listen to Paul Stanley on loop while we do it?
Draenor is unplayable.
Blizzard needs to stop intervening how people want to level up.
I think people should be free to level up however they want i really don't care about lore.
Questing change was nice if you didn't get a que in the middle of night with you constantly needing to move after few levels gained.
You guys say that things take too long, and are too slow.

Warmode + Random BG + Dungeons, I'm 87 in less than 2 days played... on a mage (and fishing achives, dailies, AFK and Darkmoon dailies counts here too). I seriously feel like I zoom through levels especially after they fixed things since pre-patch. Longest stretch for me was 1 to 15 really.

I can round up 8 mobs and melt them down in no time, and go on to rinse and repeat, dungeons goes fast again and give nice xp, BG's too.

Surely we do not want to go back to oneshotting everything in sight, and loose players because things is too easy.

It is fast indeed. I have 1 day 16 hour son my 84 lock and I've wasted some hours.

That's where you're wrong, kiddo
I'd want nothing more than to one shot everything and do max level in 20 hours again.

Treasures no longer give xp, as far as I've read. So yeah, Draenor sucks even more now.

Hmmm, ok fine. It'll have to be Ozzy with Crazy train then...

And youve done this since lv 15 on a mage ye ? I call BS.
Two of my friends just started playing recently, told them I'd run them through dungeons since they are overworked and have barely any time to play, and poof, massive xp nerf. Not to mention mage tower being removed just as they started, no shiny cat form for one that only plays feral druid, really unlucky turn of events.
And to top it off, professions being completely useless, while both of them are heavy on professions, come on blizzard, why are you removing every fun part of the game?

No longer relevant. Dreanor tresure xp went poof so it’s now even more worse in that place.

Leveling is slow that is a fact, now i will assume that when you replied to forum you leveled many alts through many expansions and aware of leveling speed before and after 7.3.5 patch but let me put in numbers for everyone from my experience.

Before 7.3.5 in my peak moments i was leveling an alt in 20-25 hours played now this may differ from player to player since i leveld through questing only i never skipped levels through dungeons or bgs.

Lets fix this in 24 hour played, with 4 hour gameplay everyday (which is optimal for adults while teenagers can play up to 14 hours a day im counting them out)
with 4 hours a day it takes 6 days to reach max level before 7.3.5

As you pointed out leveling these days with full exp buffs tooks around 80-90 hours again may differ depending on your play style, but, lets fix this at 80 hours, again with a playstyle of 4 hours a day you can reach max level in 20 days, you see difference is way too big considering this is a matter for leveling alts.

we can assume this time increase by half because of the removed exp bonuses, for new players, which increases time to 120 hours. With optimal play time one person can reach max level in 30 days,

Now you can say "then play more hours each day if you want fast levels" which eliminates the idea of exp buffs where you need them so you can play this game in reasonable times each day while you still continue your everday life.

You can say "if wow is that important for you you would play 10 hours a day", remember this is for leveling alts, people who elvel alts play this game with their mains too and most of the times they split their gametime between many characters so 4 hours for leveling an alt is long enough.

Overall, is leveling slow in wow: Definitely
Leveling in Wow right now is the slowest leveling experinece you can have in any mmorpg, since i play a bunch of these i can prepare statistics for them too if you require.

According to Blizzard it was a “bug” gotta love it when they “fix” things that they say is a bug when it actually isn’t.
So wait what - They removed Draenor Treasure XP or not?
Cause if they did... damn are they seriously trying to kill fans?

I've played -non stop- for 14 years, and I feel like I get punished more and more for being a loyal fan. :|
Heirlooms should make things a lot faster for those who want to go fast...
We should also have options, such as EXP pots etc.

Cramming everyone under "Go slow"-mentality is just.... bad.

2 days played...thats 48h and still you have to do 23 levels to get to 110 (soon 120). And after that the fun starts. The grind to get gear etc. If you have a life outside WoW it can be hard to play more then 2-3h a day. And then it will take 2-3 weeks just to get to 110. Its not okej.

You say that you can round up 8 mobs and melt them down...ehhh in what universe?

Battleground...okej if you like PvP. Dungeons takes 30-40 min to finish after 30min que and dont give enough exp or rewards for the time you spent.

And if you dont like the fast leveling just stop use herilooms. Even take of some gear and you will still have the slow grind as it is like today.

Think they fixed it. Just got to Draenor and I get unbuffed around 15k for each treasure. Phu...was a bit scared they nerfed that to.
I´m going to qoute a person from one of the threads on the US forum regarding the current leveling (A thread that is incredibly close to 2k with no further blue replies either)

"7.35 Blizzard mixes sand into your food.

Don't like sand?

8.0 - mud slurry with broken glass replaces sand.

Like that even less?

Sand, it is."

Seems very accurate, just one problem.. The mud slurry and broken glass is still mixed up in the sand after countless of "hotfixes" and when they clearly stated they had no intentions of nerfing the leveling further after 7.3.5. Im trying to patiently wait for an update about this but it seems like they have more or less intentionally "forgotten" because they did indeed want to nerf it more after 7.3.5. People have mentioned it before and it will now be mentioned again - This topic is not dying or going anywhere, it will simply just get worse when the new allied races are released and more people will realise how slow it is. Better fix it now than later when people might start to unsub.

Options is the key. Allow people who want faster leveling to do that and people who want to take it slow to do that. There is hundreds of brilliant ideas in this and many other threads on how to make that possible.
Ok so I finally got my last character to 110, HM Hunter ..

Played time 2d 15h ... seeing as its my 24th 110, Im still left with questions of WHY did it take so long!?!

Now to get my ugly piece of heritage armor ... oh god my eyes ... just took a look at it for the 1st time.

I want pre 7.3.5 leveling back as an option ... No freaking way Im gonna complete any of the remaining allied races.
