I think most people are fine with Dual spec in this fresh but allowing people to respec inside raids is going to make the new servers extremely anti-vanilla.
The community minmaxes the fun out of the game and suddenly raid leaders will expect everyone to have a trash dps spec and a boss dps spec rather than the intended purpose of dual spec. Mages will have to respec fire or frost depending on what you’re fighting in MC, warriors will have to spec arms for much bigger trash damage, some healers and offtanks will be expected to dps on trash. Suddenly you have a brand new metagame that is more similar to wotlk+ gameplay and is anti-vanilla.
However, if blizzard just limits spec changes to OUTSIDE raids this will save everyone a headache, and keep it closer to the spirit of vanilla.

Thanks for providing a constructive response as to why the respec inside raids meta is bad for the game, good talk

I mean its a good theory what might happen.
But i doubt it.
We have dual spec in sod and this never happens.
The only thing that usually happens is that certain bosses requires 3 tanks. Or more healers!/less healers so its very practical to have dps players that can switch to thoose bosses only.
I doubt that warriors would go arms for trash. Very unpractical.
More reasonable to go fury and furyprot/full prot. For dungeons or if something happen to ot/mt during the raid☺️

It happened in every phase of sod, you respec into what is best for the next boss.
Even if I agree with everything you said, which I don’t, you didn’t even bring up the fact that that mages will need 2 pve specs until AQ.
2 specs untill aq in sod or era classic? Beacuse in era classic you are frost up till aq then you switch to fire

With this implementation of dual spec ur optimal way to play is play fire on non-immune bosses and respec frost on rag, geddon etc.
Make it so you need to be in a rested area!

Make respec only possible at class trainer…the same like original, only without cost.

Why would yoiu? Maybe super mega swwaty guilds that needs 99% parses. But its really not needed to clear the content

You really think you are gonna be forced to play 2 pve specs and required to swap for trash ?
I’m pretty sure you’ll be able to find a guild ok with you having a single DPS spec so don’t worry so much.
Some of you are way to anxious before a fresh launch.Deep breath, it’s gonna be fine.

Um we can compromise for the people who want RPG element to the game and feel this is a big change for the game. We can find middle ground. Spec changable in rested area, boom.

If it’s not allowed, people leave the raid, change their spec, get re invited and port.
Totally useless suggestion.

The best compromise is have it only usable within main cities. That will limit how many people run 2 raid specs. 2 raid specs will 100% be a thing tho, it was in WOTLK, but I don’t think it’s such an “evil”.
So basically the same we do in Vanilla → Mage Port → respec trainer > Warlock port back to raid.
You guys are some of a kind.

its hilarious that people think this will end well.
its like they haven’t learned from any other version of wow in the past 20 years

The point was to not have to spend 50g every time you wanted to do something, so yes? Lmao.
It’s hilarious you think it won’t end well. Dual spec is a WOTLK feature, most successful expansion/period of WoW.

But your compromise suggestion is related to dual spec, there is no cost.
Mage Port → respec > Warlock port back to raid = no cost.
Why you want a work around like city port for raids to make it complicated?
I agree that it makes sense for solo players but not for raids.
Raidleaders demanding members to have a spec for trash and a spec for bossfights should be send to a mental hospital.

Are you not following the thread or what? The guy wants to limit dual spec, I’m saying just make it slightly inconvenient to respec and thus prevent people from doing that. Sweaty speedrun guilds where it matters will not be able to respec because it’d waste too much time going back to Orgrimmar/Stormwind.
The main reason for dual spec is to reduce the 50g cost and reduce the chore of redoing the talents/bars every time. It still makes dual spec amazing and have the intended value, but it also makes people less likely to want to run 2 raid specs, and if they do that’s still fine.
