The gearing is a lot easier if you have people to boost you. If you have friends who can boost your freshly dinged 70 through 15s and give you all the loot, you’re going to get geared very quickly.
I do agree that it takes a lot longer to get started in the first season of a new expansion if you want to play multiple alts. Yesterday evening I had the idea that I could try out a few low keys on my monk - easy enough to do on a freshly dinged character with AH gear and friends - but then I remembered my monk is still stuck at level 63 and I need to finish levelling him first! In later seasons, once I have everything at 70, I can just select a character, grab some gear off the AH and jump into keys.
im not sure what do you mean . by being 400 you have access to dungeons like 16-17 which offer nice 415 from weekly . you are basicly done with gearing and do more then like 3/4 of all m+ players .
unless you are the person who only cares about +20 by being 400 you basicly are done and just in farm mode till next season which will reset gear anyway so why push more ? it would be just waste of time - by the time next season hits you will be like 415 anyway from vp and GV.
thats exactly why im atm in process of leveling 10 alts to max level now that im mostly done with my 3 “mains” so that when S2 presents easy catch up gear to be able to slowly start pushing m+ on them by doing 1 dungeon a week
Yes, but, and I mean no offense with this, that seems to be a you issue specifically (and likely the same for many other players) as quite a few players have explained it to you how they work, and even linked in guides on how crafted gear works and how to obtain everything for it (I definitely did in a different topic atleast once). You can easily use the 4-5 sparks you get to get yourself a Lariat, a weapon, a shield, a belt and leggings for your paladin. The only obstacle in front of you is finding a crafter, from which there are many on the server you are on.
You have a major roadblock in front of you however if you cannot do 16s, but even then you can still get 405 gear for yourself from doing keys between 10 and 15.
I can relate to Max, as I still have atleast two pieces which I need concentrated primal infusion for, so I still need to do atleast 20 keys above 16 to get two more gear pieces to 418.
If I’d roll an alt I certainly would not want to do the same again.
I personally would not mind if they would make KSH account-wide again, as that would help alleviate this issue. It means on my alt the only RNG layer left in front of me is to actually get the piece of gear I need.
Tbf, valor cap doesn’t come off until next reset. If it had, I’d be 415 by now, easily. I’ve done far more dungeons than would be required, most of them for no reward, neither gear nor valor.
And that’s kind of the problem. We have a 40% chance of an item from a timed M+. It has about a 10% chance of being the item we wanted, assuming we wanted one specific item.
For a game about gear acquisition, an average of 4% chance to acquire gear seems a little low.
I mean… that Max’s problem might be less by the time it arises doesn’t change that the situation is currently unfavourable.
I desperately need shoulders on main. I should be able to target them in dungeons with higher than 4% drop chance. It mostly makes me just not bother because the chance is so low that I might as well pray for them as one of my vault slots.
That is i think a complete different problem than account bound currencies, which i am not against. But sure, i got myself also some pretty nice 392 items on my main. I can’t wait till valor is uncapped
I´ll gladly go on record saying I think he is hilarious. Just going out and saying ´´yeah I genuinely dislike some of the EU raider´´ (not a direct quote). Is incredibly funny to me.
Good content creator and often intentionally extremely controversial takes (always respect hot take generators).
How about this for a hot take, the reason gearing in WoW is bad is not because of the time it takes but rather because 90% of the gear is useless, if you are not doing the max tier content then you might aswell not even bother.
For example, there was a lot of fun to be had staying intentionally at the normal tier gear level in BFA, however because heroic and mythic exist, nobody realistically experienced this fun because they have introduced alot of content that invalidates the other content in the game.
His problem is a first world one / crybaby for sure, but going past that, there is clearly a problem gearing alts over a baseline/mid level, even in this xpac where crafted gear is a quick boost.
Can we please just take a moment to talk about how the Sign of the Warrior event only enhances dungeon drop rate by x1 item in MYTHIC 0s ONLY? …
I am really glad you made this thread OP because yesterday I was honestly about to quit after seeing the Whispering Icon drop for the 7th time in my guild raid and losing the roll for the 7th time as well… and it’s a rare drop so we can go for weeks without seeing it at all… Council dropped x2 of them yesterday and I lost the roll on both! 421s they were…
I’m an average player I do try but I could really benefit from all that passive dmg from the trinket and ring from the raid while I am busy trying to do boss mechanics as well. I’ve went for several weeks without any loot at all except 1 item but I’m so sick of playing this lottery game, if it wasn’t for my guildies talking me out of it I’d quit.
I don’t see myself staying to play for much longer if I don’t see the drops I want soon.
