These names are all restricted for no reason whilst you may get other canon character names who are really important in WoW’s lore. A couple of years ago, a GM told me to wait when I asked him about why I could not get one of these names yet a week ago, the customer service told me that the name is restricted. I am frustraded at the fact that I have been waiting too long for the name and also a Blizzard employee gave me some wrong information and caused me to waste so much of time, hoping to get the name.

I do enjoy roleplaying as canon characters more than the ones I personally create and it is even more fun when someone you come across in Azeroth plays along and makes the whole thing far more entertaining. Back in BfA when I was absolutely upset about the game’s situation, roleplaying was the only thing that kept my subscription going, so I hereby demand these names to be released.
Anyways. You’re super boring if you’re trying to take a WoW lore character name. But I don’t really understand why the non-warcraft names are restricted.
Some will say he is not a important character as he died before even Vanilla wow. But, I’m still surprised the name isn’t taken. He is the brother of the famous Sylvanas Windrunner.
Anyway, names like “Princess” should not be restricted. There are people who already own this name before it got removed. Not fair. It’s not even a bad word like why?
Ages ago my sister’s name was restricted because it had “anus” in it (Anusha) when she gave WoW a go, making her own character… Blizz is so juvenile, lol.
Yet, people who already named their characters “Princess” before the restriction can keep the name. That’s not really fair. What’s the point in keeping it locked if some people already have it
Bard, an old term for a traveling entertainer (they sung). They were usually found hanging out in taverns (pubs.) Not offensive in the slightest as far as I can see.
I guess you could call the modern day version of them… karaoke singers.
Feels very shady and undefined the naming system they have in the game, languages which isn’t EN/US English easily by pass it for the most part and to top it off, they’re very selective on whats restricted. Glhf using some basic primary colours in guild names when words like white / black are restricted but prior guilds with the words in it I hear are fine.
very picky and fitting the stance / ongoing events in US for sure.
Sounds like a good time for those fans to discover some better boy wizards, like Luke Kirby and Timothy Hunter. And possibly some of Ged’s earlier adventures.
Possibly. And who knows, maybe they will. Diehard fans are fickle people that are quite often willing to switch fandoms, praising the new thing as the best to ever happen.
Fun thing about “big names” in an IP being restricted is that people who complain others should be more original and “don’t copy them” don’t consider that the names might be perfectly normal ones in the setting. Do we have reason to believe that Jaina is a unique name among humans, or Tyrande among elves?
