List your 3 worst noob mistakes! Do you dare?

Do you dare admitting the stupid mistakes you did and difficulties you had when you were new to the game? Give us a good laugh and rejoice over the improvements we made.

I begin:

I thought male characters were stronger because they had more muscles.

I thought a cover up dress gave more protection than a sl*tty platekini.

I thought armor was the most important stat and stacked it on my priest. When I discovered other stats I went for agi as I thought being agile meant you didn’t get hit.

I thought Draenie were big buff night elves because I saw a max level one in the starting zone. I also didn’t know how to leave the starting zone and was there til like level 8-9.

I think men actually had more str and women more agi back in the day. Not 100% tho.

I accidentally dragged my “Pet Attack” button to another slot on the voidwalker’s ability bar. I thought it was gone so I used only my succubus and imp, messaged friends and guild trying to find out how to put it back as it wasn’t in my spellbook. I even wrote a support ticket after having read online it could be a bug… Only to find it THREE DAYS LATER on the voidwalker’s action bar. This was recent as well, what a noob! lol

Back in the day I remember I used to play my troll hunter by clicking on all of my abilities. I think I did that for maybe over a year until I discovered key binds :expressionless:

Hit level 40, bought my IF and SW teleport skills, then BOUGHT A PORTAL for 1g to Darnassus to buy that teleport skill only to discover that it’s available from 50.

I was told that mana/health regen’d faster when sat down. Took a while to realise it didn’t.
When first hunter pet died, I went back looking for his corpse to resurrect him.

I’m happy to give people a laugh I even laugh too myself when I think about it :smiley: So back in the day when WoW came out I was playing Guild Wars and my work mates who were with me while working at Dice Studios in Sweden on behalf of EA, said I should play WoW instead. So as we were high enough level and during our lunch break at work, I was asked to tank even though I was just dps (not sure which dungeon it was, it was pretty basic, low level) of course I had NO clue on how to tank or anything like that so when the mobs came on me I was shouting out at the guys;

“AHHH!! I’m surrounded, what the hell get them off me!!”

I started to run away and we died LOOOL!! They said, you are a tank that’s what you are supposed to do hahahah XD

This post x 3.

I could list millions of these as I was a proper huntard. But I’ll think of three bad ones…

  1. Replacing Deadmines gear with a “white” set from a vendor, because I thought a proper set of matching gear was the way to go.

  2. Buying and equipping Kang the Decapitator, because “Ooo, an epic!”. This resulted in me not having nowhere near enough gold for my level 40 mount, so I got my mom to buy me gold.

  3. I didn’t put my talent points into any trees, specifically. I just looked at one talent in Survival and thought, “this is great!”. And then for the next point, I was looking into Beast Mastery and thought the same thing. It ended with me having points in all trees, but not enough in any to get any “good ones”.

Honorable mentions go to:

  1. Pet taking aggro off the tanks.

  2. Melee hunter (I picked the AV polearm over the xbow, because I wanted BIG CRITS on my raptor strike…).

  3. Aspect of the Cheetah was on at all times and I couldn’t really understand why I kept getting dazed.
