Perhaps, but I think he’s a neat character. A pity we don’t know any more about him.
Like unearthing a fragment of something.
Still nothing vaugely explaining how said soulblobs can mingle into one soul to create an Ancient treeman.
Try telling that to the writers at Blizzard, who will on a whim make a character age 1000 years but not change their demeanor at all.
There’s so many elderlies in WoW, I’m not even sure to which one you’re referring to.
Right so you see basically the Power Rangers do this thing where they combine…
Why are you suddenly a women with short ears? You a half elf >:(?
It’s always been like this
It’s a genuinely good look.
starting to think theres a forum bug here, telaryn looks as telaryn always has
Like, the white, blonde, male, elf with long pointy ears?
Not the tanned, brunette, female, elf with short ears?
I was thinking of Turalyon, but special mention goes to Lorash Sunbeam in the War of Thorns who offhandedly mentions he holds a grudge against the Night Elves because he remembers how much the high elves struggled in the Eastern Kingdoms prior to them even temporarily settling in Tirisfal.
This means Lorash has held a god damn grudge for over 7000 years, which I think coincidentally also makes him the canonically oldest blood elf on the planet.
We don’t know when/how the high elves changed, according to some sources they only changed after establishing the Sunwell, others state after they lived on the Eastern Kingdoms.
So there’s a change either Lorash himself, or atleast his parents, were night elves at one point.
It does, it’s also a bit out there because if the loss of the sunwell made the elderly etc suffer then what do high or blood elves class as elderly? Voren’thal is considered elderly, how old is he?
Lorash just made more confusion than his impact was worth tbh.
Also, if Lorash was still looking like a normal adult at 7k… well Malfurion shouldn’t really be that old when he stopped aging at, 2.000 something.
there’s a chance someone at blizz just made up an age
Lorash really came out of nowhere.
When I made Ashiraya, I wanted her to be old, by blood elf standards - like, not that far off death by old age, old. Anasterian was getting old (though he was not yet frail) and they said he had ruled for 2800 years, so I thought ~3000 was a good age for Ashi, accounting for natural variation in lifespans among people.
…And then in comes Lorash and I don’t know what to think anymore. Definitely something to deal with if I ever get back to the character.
Honestly, best thing is to just… ignore Lorash.
He’s the only example of a high elf that was that old, even Alleria’s age is really unknown (unless you ofcourse believe she really fought in the Troll Wars).
You got fooled. The same story mentions Lorash’ mother, who died when Arthas sacked Quel’Thalas. This means she actually was a Night Elf. That said I do believe the author already said it was a mistake (not sure though).
I think it’s well established that those Highborne shrunk in stature/deteriorated before they founded the Sunwell, which restored their health (but not their previous likeliness).
