Losing a torghast run is legitimately the worst gaming experience I've had in years

Is that hard to accept that you are not good enough to solo torghast?

There are a lot of people who actually don’t know how their class work.

Like e.g. wintergrasp - 8/8 catapults trying to damage WALL…and they stood there shooting that wall for like 10mins, and horde came wiping them. (Catapults do zero damage to walls)

As for your solo torghast runs - bring better Gear, use flasks/ food. Try different talent builds (you can change talents at npc which sell items with phantasm), check guides.

I also died few times, changed strategy, used CC, planned buffs.

I just want to point out that when people advise Hunter for easier solo play, they don’t mean Survival Hunter.

Good. The rest of your post is unnecessary. It boils down to “git gud”, even if that might sound harsh to you. You can’t expect a 100% success rate when playing a game.
Let’s apply your logic to board games like Monopoly. If you don’t win, will you cry about it and claim that the time you spent playing was wasted? Obviously not. In Norway we have a saying; “tap og vinn med samme sinn”, roughly translated it means “win or lose with the same state of mind”.

Something to think about.

i kind of agree. sometimes you blow through the layers only to get absolutely destroyed by the boss because you got unlucky with anima powers.

Also you dont gain anything from torghast besides the soul ash needed to craft a legendary. So it just feels like a very painful grind just to get soul ash. The only other loot you can get basicly are the bags from the venthyr npc you save. otherwise you get nothing besides 1 g gray items

You forgot legendary pieces, some of em’ drops there layer 3+

i’d say that falls under the crafting legendaries part as you cant equip them normally

It’s not meant to be solo’d by everybody off the bat, you’re meant to work at it. If you’re not willing to improve or work to get the gear to beat it, then it’s not the content for you.

Did it fine on my priest. Don’t really understand why people think they’re automatically guaranteed to succeed. Keep. Trying. Get. Better. That’s how games work.

You didn’t do horrific visions, did you?

unfortunately people realized blizzard can be coerced into nerfing the entire game by saying “I’m not having fun ”
in any other game, a dev would come on the forum and tell you you’re not entitled to mythic ilvl rewards just through participation, and that games are meant to pose challenges to overcome, not just hop on for a joyride.
but don’t worry, blizz will be like “yes sir Mr. paying customer sir!, we’re bringing the nerfbat right away!”

This is true so badly it hurts.

Easy solution is just divide the Soul Ash rewards evenly or otherwise through the floors of the layers. You can only progress to floor 3? Fine, you get this much. It gives the incentive of doing better the next time round without completely screwing them over. This doesn’t hurt anyone but rewards those who completes content relative to their skill set.

Saying that, there is no need to nerf Torghast, it is supposed to be a challenge the higher you go up. It’s perfectly fine to hit a point where you can say, this is as far as I go for now. Get better gear, get to know your class better, and experiment.

It is already “distributed” between runs.
If you cant finish Layer 3, you can retry layer 2 for all 6 floors.

If you cant clear any layer and any floor solo or grouped, you are undergeared or should play better.

But the Soul Ash is already distibuted between layers and higher layers reward more. And it is a bonus if you can skip layer 1+2 because you can clear layer 3 already.

If you want to minimize time wasted start from level 1, maybe find some people to join you. I do agree that roguelikes have you collect things so even if you lose its not that bad so something needs to be added so it feels less frustrating when you lose. saying that maybe thats why you dont get anything after you get all your ash for the week.

As evident here, you’ll find it is front loaded with soul ash.

|Layer|Ash|
|---|---|
|1|120|
|2|100|
|3|85|
|4|70|
|5|60|
|6|50|
|7|45|
|8|40|

I’m sorry for only reading the first paragraph, person with only 1 post. But why does Blizzard want to keep someone like you over someone else? Why are people so entitled? 0.o

that’s not how they look at it. blizzard’s logic is a good player won’t quit because a game is too easy, but a bad one will because it’s too hard.

Thats funny. Because as soonesest i do any form of questing. I feel like i a play a Single Player game. And every random pleb i come across idk is just a constant nuisance and only is there to make things be either more annoying to get done or take extra waste of time i don’t need every time…

Grouping up might aswell make it harder, stuff scales.

Anima powers is everything. I was owned by a boss on a layer3-run, totally, killed me until i was kicked out from torghast.

Took a new run, got better anima powers and the boss died quickly and me barely losing hp.

My tip is this:

  • Since you easily are clearing the floors, select anima powers that will help you on the boss and not those only helpful on the trash on the floors. Do this all the way.

  • Dont underestimate the ones boosting your hp.

  • Kill absolutely everything on every floor as it will give you more phantasma to buy anima power and more anima power directly

  • Before boss again buy all the best stuff that will help you on the boss from the broker. Also get that 30% dps increase flask if it is available.

Doing the above i doubt you will fail.

I agree torghast is really boring. It reminds me of visions, but longer. It’s an absolute drag, especially when the assassins spawn constantly. Also half of the anima powers are complete garbage.
