Losing a torghast run is legitimately the worst gaming experience I've had in years

To be fair, even trash between raid bosses drops good BoE items, so even if you won’t kill boss you have chance to loot something good and sell it on AH for example so yeah, afking in city shouldn’t be awarded, doing content should be. Completion should yield big award and that’s it.

Edit: M+ also drops items, even if not done in time so there are also rewards for participating while not succesfully completing it as intended.

But you need to complete it, like Torghast, if you dont finish the run because you cant beat the final boss? You get nothing, doesn’t matter if youve been at it for 2 hours.

I don’t know why we derailad so bad to be honest, all in all it’s best to better adjust torghast than giveaway any gear to anyone.

An even better solution would be for people to just get better.

Even with garbage powers its not that hard, especially at the current layers

What’s the point of keeping layer 3 on problematic entry level if there are also 4,5,6,7,8 to discover? let people like me do their layer 3 weekly and that’s it, min maxers can reach as far as 8, i’m sure people with lesser skill won’t demand nerfing rest of layers.

the world really is full of people who have never failed at anything or think they should never fail. I find failing and overcoming something a lot of fun. But that seems to be the minority nowadays.

Just go at your own pace. If you’re not even bothering clearing the dungeons on mythic then why are you so pressed about clearing all the layers of torghast?

Readjust your expectations. Just do the easier layers, since you’re fine with progressing at a slower pace than the more serious players.

I just went through level 4 easier than level 3 last week. Sorry, but no one is convincing me at this point that torghast isn’t unbalanced, RNG BS. I refuse to do it again, it’s repetitive, boring crap. 45mins of AoEing beefed up hoggers to see if you get a boss your class can, or can not handle… I’m not a mythic raider, I see no point in chasing orange text. If I wanted to play diablo I would buy diablo.

Yeah, thorgast just feels like a waste of time, it’s terrible

And as always, if you get layer 3, then you want layer 4, then 5 and so on … The answer is simple, git gud …
Instead of wasting so much time on this, you could go do a M0, get some gear, and then breeze through it … but noooo, you want to do it because … why?

If you dont do M0’s to get gear, why do you need the extra soul ash for a legendary?

I did my layers 3 last time, and today i’m in work until late so didn’t have chance to complete it, even though i have completed it i hate it, just because powers are too random and one time i can’t get past floor 1, and second time i kill floor 6 boss with no problem.

This is a l2p issue

No, this is not a l2p issue, when whole floor is small arenas with portals and there are elites packed with common mobs while playing hardcaster. Your generig l2p lost it’s meaning, you overused it.

You can speed past them all in Mort’regar, go all the way to the end, nuke the last guy down and see if you get something worthwhile, if you want to backtrack.

The mobs reset when you get too far away.

I didn’t know mobs reset in instanced content in Torghast, thanks for info, i will try blinking away in those dangerous situations.

Oh how i wish i had a lock at max just to show you up.
But yes, it is 100% a l2p issue…

If you are unable to clear the first floor on layer 3, you are doing something very wrong …

Welcome to Dark Souls.

I’m not playing lock, it’s just forum character, i’m mage main, frost to be specific.

Tell me which power is so good that i can steamroll torghast and last boss?

I can’t 2 shot anything like other specs or classes, Frostbolt from invisibility does 30k damage, then i have to deal 250 manually without any sheninghans

For a more serious response -

I have played Torghast on my classes now, including priest. I actually don’t think it’s particularly well designed - but it’s really not difficult. If you can’t get through a specific layer - you’re not playing your class to its potential.

To put into a perspective, I have finished this content as a discipline priest, as a frost death knight, as a subtlety rogue and as a enhancement shaman. All around the same 155-170ish Ilevel.

Think carefully, don’t look away, don’t get distracted, focus on how you’re going to kill the LAST BOSS and don’t bother with the perks that are better for progression, imo.

Imo, if you think the experience or knowledge you gained after being slammed is a waste of time, you’re not much of a gamer. You don’t deserve a trophy for failing. I do think Torg’ should have some more interesting drops - like maybe mini-pets or cosmetics, or maybe loot boxes with RNG chances of dropping fun items that people can collect, or for transmog - but no, if you can’t complete it, you don’t deserve your soul ash.

In fairness I got one platform with 3 elites that aggroed me immediately and cast death blast so at 4 stacks I’m unhealable.

Not killing them wasn’t really a l2p issue.
