Mac issues - CRASHING, LAGGING AND STUTTERING AFTER 8.3

Agree this is worse after the Tuesday update. I literally want my money back, the game became unplayable - during 1 hour of game time, I froze in one arena (enough to lose), in one mythic (enough to wipe) and couple of times during battleground…

So guys I have fixed the issue on my Mac. I partitioned my hard drive and installed windows 10. The game works 100% as it should do, no freezing, stuttering or shuting down my mac. I have now completed about 5 dungeons now that previously I couldn’t do. This is the link I followed- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OofZfIwnPZ4

Do you have a way to keep your mac wow settings / interface or would we have to do everything again?

Partitioning a hard drive is like having two computers or more accurately two operating systems. So I can set each one up as I like. I’m strictly keeping windows 10 for gaming and using my Mac OS for everything else.

Thanks for the info !
Maybe my question wasn’t clear, but can you keep all previous WoW settings that you had on your mac, on your windows partition. Does copy / paste work?

Still crashing, game unplayable

I wanna do a quick update about Visions of Nzoth.

Apparently I was lucky last time. I did one recently and got hard stuck for almost an entire MINUTE in a freeze. Also got a huge freeze by doing WQs in Zulduzar.

When it this going to end…

I had to download wow again for my windows partition, WOW doesn’t use the cloud so all your setting are set by Blizz to recommended. If I were you I’d take a photo of your settings and use them for your windows insatllation.

Dear Blizzard,

I’ve been playing Wow since Vanilla, with a few breaks.

It’s the first time it’s been so chaotic. I took a one-year break and resumed 4 weeks ago, two of which were unplayable!

Make something, I am a developer myself, the lack of communication is not admissible!

EDIT : I don’t care if the game doesn’t work, but it hits my computer !!! Should I add to these concerns the gold lost since the changes of AH and messy letters?

EDIT 2: “Testing is doubting” is just a joke by the way…

Thank you. This worked for me. Not perfectly, but still good enough for the game to stop breaking down.

This is ridiculous… Please test your damn game before launching a major patch. This has been going on for well over a week now?

Specs:
MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2016, Four Thunderbolt 3 Ports)
2.9 GHz Dual-Core Intel Core i5
Ram: 8 GB 2133 MHz LPDDR3
Intel Iris Graphics 550 1536 MB

Some lagspikes have lasted 1-2 minutes, before getting 5 seconds of gameplay then doing the same again.

Game normally runs fine at 70+ fps.

Long-time sufferer of blizzard shenanigans but damn this is testing my patience

Well I’ve had the same problems as most of the guys here, I even had space to do a partition, but then the sound and WIFI wouldn’t work in Windows.

It started out being freezes and forced shutdowns, with the black background and white text telling me that my mac have had a problem and therefore restarted. It was though, cause I actually lost 3 visions due to that, as I was stupid and thought it might just be a single bug (Yes, I thought that all three times…). After the maintenance it has become much worse! Tonight I could only be online for like 1 min before a forced shutdown, with no warning other than a freeze for 10 sec.

I know you’ve got a serious problem and a mob starting to rise Blizzard, so please do whatever you can to fix this! It has ruined progress in from of raiding, cloak leveling and also m+.

with today I missed 2 raids and still no hot fixes, I hope we get something to makeup for time and raids we lost and missed

Absolutely agree with everything mentioned beforehand! Constant crashes for 10-20 seconds or complete shutdown of macbook are testing the patience! It’s a big shame when it crashes in the worst moments - raids, rares, etc, especially if some other players also rely on you helping out in the game or you just want to progress the game in peace! Please fix it!!! :frowning:

I’ve had the same issue. I haven’t even tried any m+, dungeons, raids,…etc. The crash is super frustrating, even with old content. I was told it is to do with the Iris graphics card, which does make sense. What doesn’t make sense is that until 8.3 everything was working fine. Low res or high res, it doesn’t matter, the freeze and crash is bound to happen. This is super annoying, specially delaying progress or just enjoying new content. Going for rare mobs without a crash has become a delicate surgery only possible with being a caster. Funny on one part, but I don’t need to test my sense of adaptation.

most freezes or crashes happens with golden-light effects like paladin’s consecration, or light effects in Halls or orgination or chamber of heart. similarly new shadow ground effect from corruption, intensive aoe effects and similar. raids and warfront are undoable. I killed new world bosses by tagging it with instant spell, freeze, crash, restart and here it was roll still on countdown and item in my mailbox … also aqir dominators who are casting these swarms above their heads - almost instant crush.

Same problems here, but yestarday i change visibility range and i just finish first heroic boss… Today i have freezes when i am doing daily quests…

Just logged in thinking I could maybe do some bg’s to get the currency for my blacksmithing since I can’t raid, do m+ or any visions without the game and my computer crashing. I was mistaken. The freezes in bg’s are in fact worse than a few days ago where every freeze results in a crash. I cannot do any content bar world quests late at night when there aren’t too many people around. Who the hell wants to do world quests as their only content?

Why hasn’t there been a fix yet? At this stage there is little excuse for a fix not being found. I will be expecting a months refund at the very least. Seems fair to me.

I guess we are stuck for another 2-3 days without any progress as it is weekend. I doubt they work weekends even if a majority of Mac players can’t do anything in game?
